I ask our compatriots to use air transport only when traveling from Russia to Armenia. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this on Facebook livestream while presenting their strategy to combat coronavirus.

“This time we asked [the Georgians] for an exception, they opened the road, but we have to respect each other’s rules, and I ask our compatriots to use air transport only when traveling from Russia to Armenia,” he said. “But Upper Lars [checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border] is open for cargo transportation; and cargo transportation will be carried out.”

Pashinyan added that there is no and will not be any country that will be able to evade the coronavirus.

As reported earlier, the number of people infected with coronavirus has reached 194 in Armenia.

A group of Russian citizens of Armenian descent protested in front of the Georgian embassy in Armenia Sunday, A1+ reports.

The issue is that these persons are not able to cross the Armenian-Georgian border by car because of the state of emergency that is declared in Georgia.

One of the citizens, Sofya Khachatryan, informed that more than 300 people, who are Russian nationals, cannot return to their homes in Russia because due to the state of emergency, Georgia has imposed a ban on Russian citizens leaving for Russia via Georgia.

She added that they had also applied to the Russian embassy where they had responded that Georgia had blocked entrance to Russia through its territory, and they could not do anything so far.

They also had held a protest on Saturday, but have yet to receive a response.

Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan told A1+ in this regard that these persons are Russian citizens, and therefore there must be a Russian-Georgian agreement to allow them to go to Russia via Georgia.

Naghdalyan added that they cannot mediate for the citizens of another country.

YEREVAN. – The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction has accepted for proceedings the second lawsuit filed by Shushan Pashinyan, a daughter of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, against Narek Samsonyan, President of the “Civil Consciousness” NGO.

Shushan Pashinyan demands that Samsonyan refute the information considered slander, and compensate for the damage caused to her honor and dignity, valuing it at AMD 2 million.

Narek Samsonyan had written on Facebook that PM Pashinyan was buying black caviar for $3,000 each month from a Yerevan restaurant for her daughter.

This lawsuit was first brought to court on February 26, but the court returned it, finding that when filing this lawsuit, the plaintiff’s legal representative had failed to comply with the provisions of the Civil Procedure Code.

A court date has not yet been set.
