Armenian deputy prime minister Tigran Avinyan introduced the Covid-19 Armenia app

According to his Facebook post, “the most important point of the application is the medical testing of users. As a result of answers to a number of questions, the system evaluates your health status and, if necessary, advises what steps should be taken.”

“Epidemiologists of the commandant’s office will contact users at risk and hold an interview to decide whether this person needs further medical attention,” he noted

The Covid-19 Armenia application is multifunctional and also includes the latest news about Armenian measures to combat coronavirus, medical tips on how to avoid infection in different situations, the latest statistics related to coronavirus and so on, he added.

Covid-19 Armenia is available on Google Play and AppStore.

Arsenal: One key thing to remember with Henrikh Mkhitaryan

by Josh Sippie

Arsenal has now reportedly turned away two bids from Roma for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and I just want to make sure we’re clear about one thing.

Arsenal have a lot of offloading to do this summer. Or fall, or whenever it comes. Not only do they have some players still at the club that need to be sold off, but they also have some guys on loan that need to find permanent deals. The most obvious of which is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has spent a relatively successful year in Serie A with Roma.

According to recent rumors, Mkhitaryan has been the subject of two bids from Roma on his behalf, both of which were turned away by the Gunners. The first bid was said to be in the region of £10m, with Arsenal holding out for something closer to £18m.

Even that £18m is below his market value of £23m. Though it might be unrealistic to expect that much, despite how much he is producing for the Italian club.
According to that same report, Roma are also actively pursuing former Barcelona man Pedro. They feel they can get him for cheaper and see him as a good alternative to Mkhitaryan.

There is just one thing that Arsenal needs to remember and that is that you cannot under any circumstances begin next year with Henrikh Mkhitaryan still on the roster. Sure, £10m is a sucky bid, and Roma knows it is a sucky bid.

But chances are Roma also knows how much the Gunners will want to get rid of the Armenian. Mkhitaryan has been outspoken and critical of his parent club and it’s plain to see why. He failed right alongside Mesut Ozil during his time at the Emirates and that makes him a clear and obvious must-sell.

He’s also on a good amount of wages that need to be freed up in order to allow for new flexibility to sign key players like, oh I don’t know, Bukayo Saka. I don’t care if Mkhitaryan has to go for free if it means that his wages will be freed up to allow for someone more important and more valuable to stay at the Emirates.

That’s the thing here. We can play hardball all we want, and at least for a little bit, we should. But at the end of the day, do not get stuck with him at the club. You have to get rid of him.

Arsenal has reportedly rejected two bids from Italian side AS Roma for attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

This is according to the express.

The Gunners intend to get around £18m for the Armenian who is currently on loan at Roma for the season, but the Romans are not willing to part with that much.

He has six goals and four assists in just 1,020 minutes in all competitions for the Serie A side.

Mkhitaryan’s deal with the English club will expire in June 2021.

According to the Express, Arsenal have rejected two bids from Roma for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Italian outfit’s last bid worth around £10m.

The Express claim that Roma are keen to sign the Armenian star permanently considering his success whilst on loan with the Serie A outfit.

The report adds that the Gunners have set an £18m price-tag for the attacking midfielder, and the north London outfit’s refusal to budge on this valuation could see Roma turn their attentions to Chelsea’s Pedro.

The Express even add that Mkhitaryan has informed friends that he’s willing to secure a pay cut in order to seal a permanent move to Paulo Fonseca’s side.

Mkhitaryan has managed to look solid for Roma, despite having to battle some injury troubles earlier in the season. The ace has scored six goals and registered three assists from 17 appearances this term.

Are Arsenal being naive with their valuation of the former Borussia Dortmund star? Will this stance lead to the Gunners missing out on the chance to receive a decent fee for a player that hasn’t worked out at the Emirates?

YEREVAN, APRIL 2, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated everyone on the occasion of the general elections in Artsakh.

The PM said the polls were “high quality”, citing the official results.

“For the record, one of the candidates – Arayik Harutyunyan- was only few hundred votes short according to preliminary results in order for the presidential elections to be completed at the first round. This fact speaks volumes. The unprecedented large number of candidates running for president and parliament also speaks volumes. The fact that the first and second runner-up in the parliamentary polls were opposition parties, and not ruling ones, also speaks volumes,” the PM said.

Artsakh will hold a second round of presidential election on April 14th because none of the candidates garnered more than 50% of votes in the first round.

In our case such resources are being mobilized. 9 hospitals are already completely involved in the fight against the disease. The largest one is the St. Gregory the Illuminator hospital which is going to take the greatest burden starting tomorrow”, Torosyan said.

Armenian student studying in China sure country overcomes COVID-19 through quarantine

YEREVAN, APRIL 2, ARMENPRESS. Esmeralda Dallakyan, who currently lives in China and studies at the Tsinghua University, is more than confident that Chinese people manage to overcome the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) thanks to self-quarantine.

The Armenian student introduced the current situation in China to ARMENPRESS and informed that students currently are under quarantine and only go out in extreme cases.

“When the virus outbreak started, we were only allowed to go out for buying some food, but the restrictions were further tightened due to the increase in the number of confirmed cases. We were not allowed to go outside, cafes were banning two or more people sitting together, the social distance was mandatory. Disinfection works are carried out everywhere several times a day, all are wearing face masks. Going out from the room without a mask is not allowed. I am more than confident that here people manage to overcome the virus firstly with the self-isolation. We even didn’t contact with our classmates for weeks”, she said.

The student said the situation in Beijing is gradually improving as cafes, restaurants start their operations, and almost no cases of the disease are being reported in the city.

Esmeralda Dallakyan says when the disease started spreading she got sick, but not due to the coronavirus. However, she was locked in the room and was not allowed to go outside for a week. “The specialists were trying to understand what kind of a virus it was. I didn’t tell my family about my situation in order not to get them worry. My friends were also not here, I felt very alone. One day we received a call from the Armenian Embassy in China to get information whether we have received a scholarship or not, whether we have financial difficulties or not. I told them that I got sick. And every day they were calling me and asking how I feel. I would really go crazy alone if there wasn’t their attention and support. No matter how mature you are and made a decision to study abroad, in such situations you feel very lonely, but it turns out your home country stands by you. Armenia’s Ambassador to China Sergey Manasaryan personally telephoned me. He was holding phone talks with the local Armenians, giving respective advice and support. I am very grateful to him and the Embassy’s whole staff for supporting us”, the student said.

Esmeralda, together with her Armenian, Chinese and other foreign classmates, is under quarantine till now.

“Being in isolation in a foreign country is twice as difficult, but it is the only way to fight the novel coronavirus. Will, strength for several weeks and everything will end”, she said, urging all her compatriots in Armenia to stay at home.

In late December 2019, Chinese authorities notified the World Health Organization (WHO) about an outbreak of a previously unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan, central China. WHO declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus a global pandemic and named the virus COVID-19. Cases of coronavirus were confirmed in more than 200 countries.
