The Voice Australia: Armenia’s Masha Mnjoyan heads to next round

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Armenian singer Masha Mnjoyan, who is currently taking part in The Voice Australia, passed to the Showdowns stage after having a wonderful performance in the playoffs.

She performed I Have Nothing song by Whitney Houston. Masha started the song in Armenian, surprising the audience.

“I was so excited and humbled to be able to sing in my native soul language, Armenian to this multicultural and welcoming country, Australia. To perform this well known ballad with Elyse was an unforgettable experience”, Masha said on Facebook.

Masha Mnjoyan is the winner of The Voice Armenia which was held in 2013.

Armenian President congratulates Nursultan Nazarbayev on birthday

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian had a telephone conversation with 1st President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to congratulate him on the 80th birth anniversary, the Armenian President’s Office told Armenpress.

During the talk the Armenian President said Nursultan Nazarbayev has a great contribution to the development of Kazakhstan, the strengthening of its role in the international arena, as well as the promotion of integration processes in the Eurasian space.

President Sarkissian highly valued Nazarbayev’s major investments in the political, economic and humanitarian mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan. He expressed confidence that the traditional friendly relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan will continue successfully developing both at the bilateral and multilateral formats.

The Armenian President wished Nazarbayev good health and all the best.

Coronavirus infected residents of Yerevan’s Nork Nursing Home recover

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s ministry of labor and social affairs informed that all elderly people of Yerevan’s Nork Nursing Home, who have been infected with the novel coronavirus, have recovered.

The ministry said on Facebook that there are no new cases of COVID-19 in the Nursing Home.

All hospitalized residents of the Nursing have returned to their normal life.

330 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered in Armenia in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 28,936. 162 more patients have recovered. The total number of recoveries has reached 16,302. 7 people have died in one day, raising the death toll to 491.

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. The novel coronavirus infection can attack and target not only the lungs and lung cells, but also many other organs, infectionist at Yerevan’s Nork infectious diseases hospital Hasmik Ghazinyan said at on online discussion today.

“COVID-19 can attack and target not only the lungs and lung cells, but also many other organs, such as the heart, kidneys, blood vessels, nerves, brain. We have a Neiro-Covid term, which means that the coronavirus infection can attack any organ and tissue, in particular the brain tissue, completely affecting the central nervous system”, she said.

The doctor said the central nervous system is affected if the patient passes the disease in serious condition.

“Headaches, dizziness, loss of taste and smell are the minimal neurological manifestations, in the existence of which we firstly think about coronavirus, these symptoms may occur sooner than fever, cough and others”, Hasmik Ghazinyan said, adding that now the world is dealing with the 7th generation of the coronavirus disease.

Coronavirus: No new case confirmed in Artsakh in past 24 hours

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. No new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in the Republic of Artsakh in the past 24 hours, the healthcare ministry said.

So far, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Artsakh is 135.

8 more patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 109.

The number of active cases is 26.

85 citizens are quarantined.

No death cases have been registered so far.

A total of 2,320 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Artsakh.

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Nearly 350 citizens have been evacuated by rescuers and police officers from Megamall Armenia in Yerevan after an alarm about bombs placed in the shopping center, the ministry of emergency situations told Armenpress.

Search operations for bombs are underway.

Bomb threat at Yerevan shopping center was false

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Nothing dangerous was found in the territory of Megamall Armenia trade center in Yerevan after search operations: the bomb alarm appeared to be false, head of the City department for firefighting and rescue operations at the ministry of emergency situations Gevorg Mnatsakanyan told reporters.

“Three groups have operated, nothing dangerous was found as a result of the operations. The works have been completed. Megamall will return to a normal operation”, he said.

Criminal case launched over death of serviceman of Russian military base in Gyumri

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. Criminal case has been launched over the death of a serviceman of the Russian military base in Armenia’s Gyumri city, the Investigative Committee told Armenpress.

The soldier was found hanged on July 4 in an apartment in Gyumri where he lived.

The criminal case has been filed under part 1 Article 110 (causing suicide) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

Investigative operations have been carried out and a note in Russian has been found in the bedroom of the apartment.

Investigation continues.

Artsakh to toughen anti-coronavirus measures: President chairs session of Commandant’s Office

YEREVAN, JULY 6, ARMENPRESS. The session of the Commandant’s Office of Artsakh was held today chaired by President Arayik Harutyunyan, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.

Commandant, State Minister of Artsakh Grigori Martirosyan briefly presented the actions taken in the Republic in the past month to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Acting Minister of Healthcare Arayik Baghryan presented a report on the statistics of COVID-19 in the world, in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as the actions taken by the ministry.

President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the recent COVID-19 cases detected in hospitals, urging the responsible officials to take strict measures to rule out new cases or minimize them as much as possible.
