Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger talked about Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of the Milan clash.

“We adapted and integrated very quickly. Certainly the fact has players like him have great qualities helped. As well as the fact that he is playing abroad for a long time and knows how to behave. I believe the styles of Mkhitaryan and Arsenal are in line with each other,” Wenger said.

Arsenal will clash with Milan in the Europa League 1/8 round on March 15.

European extreme cold weather doesn’t threaten Armenia, says chief meteorologist

The extreme cold weather conditions of Europe do not threaten Armenia so far, Gagik Surenyan, director of the meteorological center of the Hydromet Service told ARMENPRESS.

“No drastic weather changes are expected in the coming days. In terms of the extreme colds in Europe, currently there are no fears that they [freezing colds] can impact Armenia”, he said.

Temperature will rise 5-6 degrees Celsius March 18-20 in most parts of the country.

Europe’s freezing temperatures continue, with strong winds inflicting heavy damages in several countries, knocking down trees. Casualties have been reported.

In the US and Canada, a blizzard has left over 1 million people without power supply, while in Russia heavy snowfalls have disrupted traffic in Moscow.

Azerbaijan fails to lead OSCE mission to its frontline positions during monitoring

On March 15, in accordance with the agreement reached with the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the ceasefire regime on the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan, to the south-east from Kuropatkino settlement of the Martuni region, Artsakh’s foreign ministry reported.

From the positions of the Defense Army of Artsakh, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants to the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office (CiO) Mihail Olaru (Moldova) and Ghenadie Petrica (Moldova), as well as staff member of the Office of the CiO Personal Representative Martin Schuster (Germany).

From the opposite side of the Line of Contact, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistant to the Personal Representative of the OSCE CiO Ognjen Jovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Personal Assistant to the CiO Personal Representative Simon Tiller (Great Britain).

The monitoring passed in accordance with the agreed schedule. However, the Azerbaijani side did not lead the OSCE mission to its frontline positions.

From the Artsakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of ministries of foreign affairs and defense.

Russia supports NK conflict’s full format settlement – foreign ministry spox

The Russian Federation remains committed to all its commitments on the settlement issue of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters at a press briefing.

“We are committed to all our commitments on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the frames of existing commitments. We are trying actively to support the settlement of this very complicated conflict in a full format”, she said.

She refused to comment on the visit of Artsakh’s President Bako Sahakyan to the United States where he is having meetings with the US officials, stating that Washington must make a comment on this matter.

Commenting on the question whether Bako Sahakyan’s visit to Moscow is possible in the future, Zakharova said she doesn’t have any information on this topic.

Armenian deputy FM welcomes Russia’s conclusion on arms sales to Azerbaijan after 2016 April war

Deputy foreign minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan welcomes the statement of Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, according to which Russia will not continue supplying weapons to Azerbaijan with the same scale it did before the 2016 April war.

“Russia has always been the number one supplier to Azerbaijan. We know this very well. The impression from this statement is that some conclusions are made by Russia. I want to state that this statement is welcomed”, the deputy FM told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

During a meeting with the reporters in the Armenian Parliament on March 14, Konstantin Kosachev said Russia will not continue supplying weapons to Azerbaijan with the same scale it did before the 2016 April war. He said Russia implements the contracts that were signed with Azerbaijan before April 2016.

“We are obliged to do that in accordance with these contracts. But as far as I know it will not be with the scales that existed as of April 2016. Undoubtedly, we react to the situation which took place in April 2016”, the Russian official said.

Russian foreign ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova considers it unnecessary to comment on the question of an Azerbaijani reporter in regards to the establishment of Russia-Artsakh Friendship Union NGO in Moscow.

“I don’t see a necessity to comment on the creation of the Russia-Artsakh Friendship Union. Different NGOs carry out an activity in Russia. The important is that it doesn’t contradict to Russia’s legislation”, Zakharova told reporters at a press briefing.

The Russia-Artsakh Friendship Union NGO aims at contributing to developing the dialogue between the peoples of Russia and Artsakh. Its main activity directions are the development of the Russian-Artsakh multilateral cooperation, strengthening of centuries-old friendship between the peoples, introducing Armenian’s centuries-old history to the Russian society.

‘We discuss NK conflict with our partners’, says Russia’s foreign ministry spox

Russia regularly discusses the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement with its partners, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a press briefing, in response to a question whether Russia and Turkey regularly discuss the NK conflict.

“The topic is being discussed with several our partners. The talk relates to both the Co-Chairs and the countries of the region. This is normal and is part of diplomatic work”, Zakharova said.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu met in Moscow on March 14.

Armenian team remains 91th in FIFA monthly ranking

Armenia’s team is again ranked 91th in FIFA Ranking of March 2018. In February 2018 as well the team was ranked 91th.

Demanded and received a month’s benefit money to provide citizens with social assistance; charges pressed

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of bribe cases while providing social assistance were revealed.

On February 16, 2018 a report was submitted by a resident informing that being a social assistance recipient since 2013 she has received a benefit – 18.000 AMD monthly in January, February, March each year. According to the citizen each year she gave a month’s benefit money to the relevant official at her request to remain in the program of social assistance.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 311 and the Part 1 of the Article 312 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume a number of circumstances of the case were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified, actual data were obtained on other criminal manifestations by the same person.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation it was found that the person having committed the alleged crime, being an employee of Abovyan’s Territorial Agency of Social Assistance of the staff of Kotayk’s provincial administration, from 2009 to 2018 demanded and received a month’s benefit money of a number of residents to involve them in the list of beneficiaries, to provide them with benefits, urgent assistance in different periods and cases.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the employee of Abovyan’s Territorial Agency of Social Assistance of the staff of Kotayk’s provincial administration according to the Part 1 of the Article 214 of RA Criminal Code (5 counts), charge was pressed against 5 more people for attempt to give bribe.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to reveal other possible counts of bribery, to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of the case. Professional inspection was commissioned to find out whether it was envisaged for those citizens to receive social assistance as prescribed by law.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.

The reality star has been super outspoken about how important her Armenian culture is to her, and no matter how famous she’s gotten, she’s never lost sight of who she really is, Life&Style magazine published an article titled ‘Here’s How Kim Kardashian’s Armenian Culture Still Influences Her Life’.

The magazine writes celebrating her birthday in October 2017, Kim gathered all of her family and friends at Carousel in LA. “The Armenian restaurant has been a favorite of her family’s since she was a little girl, and she was thrilled to receive an “Armenian style” white cake with her photo on it for the special occasion”, Life&Style writes.

The article states that however, being Armenian is more than just enjoying the food to Kim. The magazine recalled the open letter Kim wrote on the Time magazine in 2016 to raise awareness on the Armenian Genocide.

Life&Style writes Kim and her sisters visited Armenia in 2015 where they also visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial to pay tribute to the memory of the innocent victims.
