As every Thursday, it iwas crowded near the government building. Hovsep Muradyan, his son’s photo in his hands, has been standing at the government building for years, demanding justice. His soldier son, Arman Muradyan, died five years ago in peaceful conditions.

“My son was killed by a weapon not belonging to him. Artur Davtyan, if you declare that you did not fail, why haven’t you answered our letter so far? You are a criminal, you have to leave.”

Teacher Kima Hovakyan demands from the state her 7-year pension. She left for abroad in 1997 and returned 10 years later.

“They have given to me only three years’ pension. I demand my work to be returned to me, I do not want mercy. ”

In order not to pay utility charges, the woman appeared in court as a defendant.


Karo Yeghnukyan to be released

Karo Yeghnukyan, accused of supporting “Sasna Tsrer”, will be reliesed paying mortgage of AMD 10 million.

Judge Artush Gabrielyan made such a decision.

The judge rejected the petition by Tigran Hayrapetyan to replace Karo Yeghnukyan’s preventive measure with a signature.

Karo Yeghnukyan will be released at a time when 10 million drams are transferred to the court deposit account.

Brother of former Chief of RA Police Vladimir Gasparyan’s bodyguard detained

Sargis Hakobyan, brother of Arshak Hakobyan, the bodyguard of former RA Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, was arrested shortly before.

Judge Vache Margaryan, the judge of the Shengavit district of Yerevan’s general jurisdiction court, made a decision on detention.

Sargis Hakobyan is charged with committing hooliganism and involvement with a group of people in front of Yerevan’s Aivazovsky 29 on April 20, including using a weapon.

His attorney Tigran Atanesyan told “A1 +” that there was no hooliganism in the case and his client had not accepted the guilt. To the observation that everything is clear in the video, the defender mentioned that the video was incomplete, there was a conflict indeed, and the accusation was to be put to the head.

“The man was detained here because he has a brother and has been presented to the public in a negative angle.”

The Defender is going to protest today’s decision.

Khachatur Gichyan to remain under arrest

Khachatur Gichyan, accused of assisting “Sasna Tsrer” group, will remain under arrest.

Recently, judge Artush Gabrielyan rejected the petition of his lawyer Marina Farmanyan to lift the arrest as a preventive measure or to a written undertaking not to leave the place use as a preventive measure.

Khachatur Gichyan has health problems and during the period of his captivity he underwent heart surgery.

Brusov students demand dissolution of Student Council (video)

There has been tense situation at Yerevan State Lingustic University after V. Brusov for several days. Most students are required to dissolve the Student Council. Today, a meeting was convened to solve the issue.

The students claim that the council was a party structure and served the Republican Party. Chairman of the Student Council Rosa Hakobyan stated the opposite.

“Since January 25, I have been elected as the Chairman of the SC, and I am running a non-partisan policy. Before that, I was a party member, but on January 25 I stopped my party activity,” Roza Hakobyan said.

And the students who are for the dissolution of the SC requirement want to hold such elections where everyone can be self-nominated or nominated by a group. Their desire is to make the university programs available to all students.

Garegin Chukaszyan stops hunger strike (video)

After meeting with Deputy PM citizens decide to stop protest actions

RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan informed that he had met with citizens protesting against the work of Sotq and Amulsar mines and informed that they had come to mutual understanding on 2 issues.

“Today I have had meetings with citizens protesting against Sotq and Amulsar mines.

“It can be stated that there is mutual understanding in two issues: unlawful and irrelevant damage to nature should not be caused, and the economy should not appear in an artificially created crisis situation.

“As a result of the Prime Minister’s instruction to carry out transparent and complex expertise, works are already underway. We also discussed this with the citizens.

“After our meeting, the citizens decided to stop the protest action.

Alternative shipping routes through South Ossetia

RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page the following:

“Dear Compatriots,

“We can record another positive shift for economy and transport.

“Yesterday representatives of the Russian Federation and Georgia met in Prague and discussed the implementation of the agreement “On basic principles of customs administration and commodity trade monitoring mechanism” signed in 2011. The parties have agreed that a tripartite commission from Georgia, Russia and the Swiss company SGS should be formed for the customs control of cargo in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

“In case of the implementation of the agreement, we will have alternative ways of transportation, in cases where the Upper Lars highway is closed.

“We also talked about the implementation of the agreement with RF President Vladimir Putin during meeting in Sochi on May 14.

We highly appreciate the readiness and efforts of the parties to implement this contract, which is extremely important for us.”

Movses Hakobyan will be relieved from the position of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces.

During today’s Cabinet meeting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he has proposed the President to relieve Movses Hakobyan from his position on the occasion of transition to another job.

“The decision has been made in the atmosphere of mutual consent. Tomorrow the new Chief of the General Staff will be introduced to the Armed Forces”, PM Pashinyan said.
