The Armenian government will consistently search for each resource stolen from the people, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the meeting with the Meghri residents.

“We cannot arrest all, but all those who stole from the people, must be arrested. It would be a disgrace for me if someone will be a political prisoner under my leadership, for us the values, the legality are important, we are not going to replace someone’s robbery with ours, monopoly with our monopoly. We are going to search for any money stolen from the people in accordance with the law and be sure that we will do that”, the PM said.

Nikol Pashinyan said the government will make all efforts to return any money stolen from Armenia to the state budget, and here the leadership needs the people’s support. “The firmer you stand by this process, we will consistently move forward, I will not stop before anything. I have obligations before you that we should return consistently what has been robbed, regardless of the name/surname of the robber”, Nikol Pashinyan said.

Living by the guarantee of right, law and dignity in Armenia should not be a dream, but a reality, President Armen Sarkissian said during an event at the Constitutional Court dedicated to the Constitution Day and the day of State Symbols, reports Armenpress. He stated that living by law is not just a necessity and duty, but the advantage of free people who know the value of their rights and that of others.

“The state symbols are unique values, and the proper understanding and appreciation of their significance are important for the country’s today and tomorrow. The Constitution is considered as the country’s legality symbol. But the best symbol of each state is its law-abiding citizen, who at the same time is protected by the law”.

Armen Sarkissian said on this day of the Constitution we can proudly record not only the indisputable existence of sovereign, developing Republic of Armenia that chose the path to democracy, but also the existence of its growing reputation in the international arena. “The increase of this reputation is the right and duty of all of us. The Constitutional values can become a reality in case when each of us is the bearer of these values”, the President said, adding that the Constitution is the legal boundary of right and duty. It, in fact, divides the permissible from the impermissible, outlines the legal field our moral laws are subject to.

“We should think and act in the interests of the country, use the opportunities provided by the Constitution and protect it. And by then the country will become better, the citizen of the country – more confident, the leadership of the country – more responsible and more reliable. Together we must continue building politically and economically harmonious Armenia developing based on the mutual respect of the citizen and the leadership”, President Sarkissian said.

Statement from Armenia Fund, Inc.

of us are deeply saddened by the arrest of Ara Vardanyan, the Executive
Director of the Yerevan-based Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, on
allegations of abuse of authority by misusing the organization’s credit
card for personal purposes, including online gaming. However, as it
appears now, no donor funds have been affected and the misused funds
have been fully recovered.

While it is unfortunate that
Mr. Vardanyan abused his authority, his misdeed should, in no way,
reflect on the hard-working and law-abiding employees of the
organization, its worldwide partners, including Armenia Fund in the
United States, the generous donors worldwide, the contractors employed
in Armenia and Artsakh and the countless volunteers. We will await the
findings of the investigation.
Armenia Fund is
an independent U.S. based non-profit organization that uses Hayastan
All-Armenian Fund as an implementing agent for its specific humanitarian
and infrastructure development projects in Armenia and in Artsakh. The
funds collected in the United States go towards specific projects, the
implementation of which is monitored by Armenia Fund.
Hayastan
All-Armenian Fund is an organization that has enjoyed the trust of
hundreds of thousands of donors around the world. Throughout the 27
years of its existence the Fund has implemented thousands of large-scale
socio-economic development projects that benefit hundreds of thousands
of people in Armenia and Artsakh.
After the
devastating 1988 earthquake, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund brought urgent
humanitarian aid to the people of Gyumri and continues to remain the
largest distributor of permanent housing in the earthquake zone. In the
darkest day of the newly-independent Armenia, it provided heating fuel
and bread, countering Turkish and Azeri border blockade and saving
thousands from starvation during the freezing winters of 1992-1994.
Since
1995 and until today, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is the largest
implementor of large scale humanitarian relief and infrastructure
development projects in Artsakh providing recovery from a devastating
war and seven decades of Azeri occupation. Recently, the Fund initiated
innovative infrastructure projects including development of solar energy
and irrigation networks using latest technologies. And, of course, the
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s signature projects remain the strategically
vital Goris-Stepanakert and Vardenis-Matakert highways connecting
Artsakh to the outside world and making Artsakh’s very existence
possible.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s
mission is far from over. Armenia’s and Artsakh’s needs are enormous.
The actions of a single person cannot overshadow the immense
achievements of this legendary organization, nor should it cast any
doubt on the role it plays in the development of Armenia and Artsakh.
