A1+: Mothers of killed servicemen demand NSS to investigate their cases (video)

After the meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, the mothers of the soldiers who died in peace still are not satisfied. They think that their sons’ cases were abolished by the decree of Nikol Pashinyan. They trust the Prime Minister, but they do not trust the Special Investigation Service (SIS). Today, these mothers again held a protest action in front of the government building.

Irina Ghazaryan, whose son died in 2010, says that she cannot trust SIS, since Yuri Badalyan, Armen Harutyunyan, Arthur Davtyan, and others are still in SIS. “They cannot conduct a fair trial.”

Mothers recall that Nikol Pashinyan promised that if a fair trial is not conducted in the SIS, their case would be transferred to the National Security Service (NSS).

“Our cases, of children’s deaths are a security issue and the NSS must deal with it. This is already the third and fourth stage suspension, and now we know what’s going to happen, it’s time NSS to be involved,” says Nana Muradyan.

Serob Khachatryan: They only check the child’s ability to memorize, which no one needs

Education expert Serob Khachatryan considers the most important step in the first hundred days of the Ministry of Education and Science to be the goal of non-politicization of education.

“We have a bad legacy from the previous authorities, now we have to understand where to start the reforms.”

The expert considers it unacceptable to replace the graduation exams with single exams.

“The Ministry announces that the directors will be responsible for the results, it’s wrong, there are many factors affecting the child’s progress, and now if these exams take place in a strict way, there will be a big market for tutors.”

According to the expert, the children of poor families will suffer in this case.

According to Serop Khachatryan, the quality of exam tasks is not good.

“They only check the child’s ability to memorize, which no one needs.”

He offers to start the reforms with the improvement of teaching ways of foreign languages.

“If children have a good knowledge of foreign languages, we will have a great flight, as it was in Singapore.”

Clarification: Two Ukrainians detained on Northern Avenue

There was a video posted on the Internet, where police officers arrested two foreigners. There were various opinions and comments about the video, so we think it is appropriate to clarify the issue.

The police do not see any problem in music and street musicians. The problem appears when music turns into noise and makes inconvenience to the society. As North Avenue is also a residential area, the police officers urge street musicians to keep silent, to select non-residential areas for music and avoid excessive noise.

As to the incident, on August 29, at 4:30 pm, on the basis of Article 175 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, two citizens of Ukraine were brought to the Central Police Division. They were released in accordance with the law.
Citizens were taken to police because they violated public order and co-ordination rules. And the baseless comments and questions regarding the police action were surprising.

The above mentioned people have argued with the citizens by cursing them, and when the police intervened, the video footage showed that one of the offenders resisted passively to the police officers, which, according to the law, is the use of physical force.

Minister of Education and Science: You are used to that ministers looked up others from above (video)

Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan urge people not to critisize just one separate video of his dialogue with one of the directors yesterday.

“There is no humiliation here. And anyone who knows me can say that I cannot humiliate anyone.”

To remind, yesterday, the principal of School N 130 voiced an issue of teaching a foreign language, in response to which the minister expressed doubts that the principal, who finished an English language training school, could not formulate her thoughts in English, and the principal replied to this by saying the text in English.

“You are used to that ministers looked up others from above. Here, we are partners,” the minister said.

Arayik Harutyunyan stressed that this government is very different from previous governments.
