Azerbaijani press: Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry puts 3 US Congressmen to list of undesirable people

Members of the US House of Representatives David Valadao, Frank Pallone and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s list of undesirable persons, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, told Trend Sept. 22.

Valadao, Pallone and Gabbard illegally visited the Azerbaijani territories occupied by the Armenian armed forces, grossly violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, as well as its “Law on exit from the country, entry into the country, and passports” and “Law on the State Border of Azerbaijan”.

Hajiyev said that by this illegal visit, the members of the House of Representatives, violating the norms and principles of international law and the Helsinki Final Act, justify and support the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, the bloody ethnic cleansing of more than a million Azerbaijani civilians in the occupied territories, and aggressive separatism.

“Unfortunately, by such illegal and biased behavior, these individuals taint the image of the US Congress in the eyes of the Azerbaijani and international public,” he added.

“These acts, committed jointly with Armenia and the Armenian lobby, nullify the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group – which includes the US – aimed at ensuring sustainable peace in the region and resolving the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Hajiyev said.

“By their actions these individuals have repeatedly proved that they are under the influence of the Armenian lobby operating in the US, in particular, under the financial influence of such a radical and racist organization as the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA),” he added.

“Relevant ethical committees of the Congress must investigate the financial conditions whereby these visits have been made.”

“We also call on other members of the House of Representatives who are guided by spiritual and moral values, the rule of law at the national and international level, and their voters,” Hajiyev said. “We urge to correctly assess and condemn the acts of Valadao, Pallone and Gabbard.”

Azerbaijani press: Karabakh Liberation Organization stages rally to protest Armenian MPs’ visit to Baku

A group of members of the Karabakh Liberation Organization have held a rally outside the Azerbaijani parliament to protest the Armenian MPs’ visit to Baku.

 

The protesters chanted slogans such as “Go away, representatives of Armenia!” “Shame on you who have invited the Armenians!”, “The Armenians leave Baku right away”, etc. The angry protesters then trampled on the Armenian flag but could not burn it as the police intervened.

 

The protesters said in a statement that the inviting of the Armenian MPs to the Euronest Parliament Assembly’s conference in Baku is disrespect to the souls of the martyrs and treason against the entire people of Azerbaijan.

 

“As long as our lands are under occupation, our daughters in captivity, our sons like Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev in hostage, Armenians cannot be allowed to Baku under any circumstances. This practice should be ended once and for all. We insist that these shameless MPs who represent the Armenian regime be ejected from the conference and leave Azerbaijan immediately,” the statement said.

in Azerbaijan, has told how the Azerbaijani law enforcement officers
interrogated him and appeared in a stupid situation, ARMENPRESS
reports Lapshin wrote about this in his personal blog.
“The best investigators of Azerbaijan were involved in my case –
Colonel Kamal Talibov (the son of the former president of Azerbaijan’s
supreme court), Colonel Vugar Nasibov, chief of investigation
department, General Illar Ahmedov and Deputy Prosecutor General Rustam
Usubov. They are the best investigators in this oil-rich country. They
spoke good Russian and made unnecessary and funny quotes from the
films “Kidnapping,Caucasian Style” or “Mimino” and did everything to
persuade me that I can be saved only if I confess that I work for the
special services of Armenia and Russia. It should be noted the
emphasized hostility towards the Russian Federation during the
investigative activities. I really could never imagine that they could
bring forward such ridiculous and unfounded accusations against the
Russian Federation”, the blogger wrote.
Lapshin stressed that the Azerbaijani authorities put those high
ranking and professional policemen in a stupid situation by forcing
them to do ridiculous and useless job.
“They asked me the same question 10 times. The problem is that the
Azerbaijani authorities put those people in a stupid situation. When
high ranking policeman Colonel Talibov came to the penitentiary
institution every day like a child and asked the same question about
my “working” for the Armenian special services we just pitied him. He
probably had understood that I have nothing to do with any special
service, but it was demanded from higher echelons to launch a
demonstrative process and he did his job”, Lapshin wrote.

people on the national holiday of the Republic of Armenia, wishing

Today Armenia marks the 26th anniversary of independence, and I

Azerbaijani press: Armenian MPs to attend Euronest PA conference in Baku

Head of the Armenian delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Armen Ashotyan and delegation member Mane Tandilyan will take part in a conference of the Assembly’s Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society, which will be held in Baku on Sept. 22, Fuad Muradov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Assembly, told APA.

 

Muradov said that he lacks information about the time of arrival of the Armenian deputies in Baku.

 

Akif Tavakkuloglu, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Parliament, told APA that there is no correct information about their [Armenian MPs] arrival in Baku. “However, they are expected to attend the Euronest PA conference in Baku.”   

 

The conference, titled “The role of parliaments in promoting women’s health and gender equality in Eastern Partnership countries within the framework of the 3rd and 5th Sustainable Development Goals”, will be held in Baku on September 22.  

 

The event will be co-organized by the Azerbaijani Parliament, the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society of the Euronest PA, the UN Baku Office and the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development.

 

The conference will bring together representatives of the European Parliament and deputies of the Euronest PA member states, UN officials, representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the European Parliamenton Population and Development, and international experts.

Armen Ashotyan, head of the RA NA delegation to Euronest PA, chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, and Mane Tandilyan, a member of the delegation, are already in Baku. This is evidenced by the photo published by them.


It is noteworthy that the Armenian deputies arrived in Baku on the 26th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia and did not miss the opportunity to toast the homeland from afar, moreover, in the land of the enemy. 


To remind, on September 22, Armenian MPs will participate in the conference organized by the Committee on Social, Education, Culture and Civil Society Affairs of Euronest PA, dedicated to parliamentary involvement in issues of improving women’s health and gender equality in Eastern Partnership countries.
