Mother Mortality Rate High In Armenia

MOTHER MORTALITY RATE HIGH IN ARMENIA

Azerbaijan

The development speed of cutting down the rate of children and
mother mortality in Armenia shows that Armenia will not be able to
shortcut the mortality rate by 2/3% till 2015, said Laily Moshiri,
the representative of UN children’s office in Armenia.

According to the UNICEF report the mother mortality rate in Armenia
is rather serious. Mother mortality rate in Armenia is 1 to 180 and
in developed countries 1 to 8000.

According to the UN representative insufficient prenatal and birth
care, lack of professional staff and equipments are the basic reasons
to high rate of mortality, reported Panorama.

Evolution: fact, opinion or motive for murder?

Annie-Victoria Hadley, the only member of the Snow Hill school
board joining former chairman Henry Wackford in a lawsuit denying
advocates of Intelligent Design their say, is clobbered with something
blunt, like a baseball bat. As she hovers between life and death,
it’s assumed that vehement creationists had a go at her. Bypassing
the publicity-hungry Pennsylvania State Police, Gary Albright, the
Snow Hill Police Chief, calls in ex-FBI authority Gregor Demarkian,
the Armenian-American Poirot, who quickly learns that just about
everyone in town was within batting range of Annie-Vic’s house when
she was coshed. Lining up for Intelligent Design are current board
chair Franklin Hale, board member Alice McGuffie, Alice’s bully of a
daughter and Chief Albright. The evolutionists include Miss Marbledale,
the schoolteacher, and Judy Cornish and her friend Shelley Niederman,
newcomers comfortably settled in the posh new development outside
Snow Hill until they’re also dispatched, presumably by an unappeased
creationist. Straddling the debate is Rev. Nick Frapp, who insists
that he’s neutral since his flock’s children attend his academy,
not the public school. But the more Gregor learns of the town’s
movements and prejudices, the more certain he is that death has come
from another direction.

Haddam (Cheating at Solitaire, 2008, etc.), who usually has more on
her mind than mere murder, defeats the anti-scientists with fact as
well as tact. If another "monkey trial" comes up, the evolutionists
should ask her to write their brief.

The Azerbaijani side violated the cease fire regime at some parts
of the contact line between the Armed Forces of Nagorno Karabakh and
Azerbaijan the night of February 3rd and this afternoon.

The Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic informs that
the front line troops of the Azerbaijani army bombarded the Karabakhi
positions located near Hadrut, Askeran and Martakert from weapons of
light caliber.

The rival was silenced as a result of the measures taken by the NKR
Defense Army. The Karabakhi side suffered no losses.

Sergei Movsesian surprises in Corus tournament

By Jack Peters, International Master
February 1, 2009

Position No. 6040: White to play and win. From the game Sergei
Movsesian-Michael Adams, Wijk aan Zee 2009.

Solution to Position No. 6039: White wins with 1 h6!, threatening 2
Bxh7+ Kxh7 3 hxg7+. If 1…g6, then 2 Bxg6 hxg6 3 Qxg6+ Kh8 4 Qg7+!
wins. The "best" defense, 1…Rc7, still loses to 2 Bxh7+ Kf7 3 Bc5!
Qxc5 4 Re1! g5 5 Qg4.

The first nine rounds of the great Corus tournament in Wijk aan Zee,
Netherlands, have barely separated the field of 14
grandmasters. Nearly all remain in contention for first prize, close
behind the 5.5-3.5 scores of leaders Levon Aronian (Armenia), Leinier
Dominguez Perez (Cuba) and Sergey Karjakin (Ukraine). For latest
results, see coruschess.com.

Twenty six PACE delegates signed under a statement by which Azerbaijan
is trying to show prejudice and hatred against Armenia. The Armenian
delegates put the document in circulation and the signatures were
collected within a day.

PACE Armenian delegates Naira Zohrabyan and Hermine Naghdalyan were
approaching the delegates of different countries and presenting the
statement as they were passing through the hallways of the Council
of Europe.

The statement regards Azerbaijan’s prejudice and xenophobia against
Armenia. Based on the statement, the Azeri government is required to
immediately put an end to all acts of prejudice and hatred towards
Armenia, its citizens and people of Armenian nationality. The statement
also calls on the Assembly to observe those manifestations and present
them in a corresponding report.

The signatories are delegates from Italy, France, Albania,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine, Great Britain, Norway and Estonia.

"Tolerance towards one another fits in with the rules of the game
set by the Council of Europe, but xenophobia is out. The working
style which the Azeri delegates have adopted is, according to us,
absolutely doesn’t correspond to the system of values of the Council
of Europe," said member of the Armenian delegation Naira Zohrabyan.

The Azeri delegates in Strasburg are not missing out on any opportunity
to criticize Armenia’s policies and are even aiming insults. They
dispersed a message yesterday in the PACE that "for 60 years, Armenia
has been violating fundamental human rights of 150,000 Azeri, who
have been exiled from Armenia in mid-20th century."
