CB: Today the risk of lowering inflation is high

ArmInfo. Today the risk of lowering inflation is high, reports the
press service of the Central Bank of Armenia.

GDP is decreasing more quickly than was expected. So, the target
inflation level will hardly be exceeded due mostly to balanced currency
rate.

The CB has repeatedly pointed out the high uncertainty of the
macroeconomic situation, which is one of the key factors influencing
inflation. In the future inflation may either grow or drop depending on
the results of the government’s anti-crisis programs and the behavior
of the economy.

June 9 2009 the CB reduced the official rate from 6.25% to 6%. The
interest rates of deposits and lombard credits are 3% and 9%,
respectively.

information high tech industry environment," said RA Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan.

"I am hopeful that ArmTech Congress will possess constructional

academia to come together and really make a difference," said Rich
Goldman, co-founder and co-chairman of ArmTech Congress, and a high
tech industry executive. "In bringing these areas together, ArmTech is
establishing a high tech business platform that serves as a blueprint
for progress and accountability. This November, we will review the
progress on this platform and continue to move forward on establishing
Armenia as a globally recognized high tech destination. This year’s
ArmTech holds the promise of exceeding the achievements of the first
two events."

The continuing growth of the high tech industry sector in Armenia,
combined with the expansion of the global Armenian high tech industry
community, has created the need for a professional forum to improve
communications and cooperation among Armenian high tech professionals

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Position On Karabakh Complies With Intl Law

BAKU: AZERBAIJAN’S POSITION ON KARABAKH COMPLIES WITH INTL LAW

Interfax
June 18 2009
Russia

Azerbaijan’s position on the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh is fully
substantiated and backed by international law, Azeri Foreign Ministry
spokesman Elkhan Polukhov told Interfax on Thursday.

"The Azeri side has citied arguments in defense of its position on
many occasions, and it has never made empty statements, not backed
by international norms and principles," Polukhov said in remarks
about Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian’s claims
that the settlement of the Karabakh conflict has been skidding over
Azerbaijan’s unconstructive stance.

Kocharian’s statement is "nothing but yet another attempt to incite
tensions over the talks," he said. "The Armenian side makes such
destructive statements regularly, which points to its inconsistent
position," he said.

As before, Azerbaijan supports the principle of nonuse of force in
settling the conflict, Polukhov said.

"However, Azerbaijan has not signed a single document that would speak
about the nonuse of force. Azerbaijan only signed the documents which
deal with the principles of nonuse of force," said Polukhov.

June 19, 2009

ODESSA, JUNE 19, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The painter Vahan
Ananian’s personal exhibition entitled "Your Image is a Feast"
will open at the Odessa City Show-room of the Bleshchunov Musuem of
Personal Collections on June 22.

In the words of art critic Liana Krishevskaya, "it is impossible
to describe the works of Vahan Ananian by using some specific
tradition, his works are beyond the trends of his time. Vahan is
one of those painters who establish a tradition – they include the
previous spiritual and artistic experience and take it with them in
a manner peculiar only to them", Analitika information and analysis
center reported.
