This was stated by Babayan in an interview with journalists. He noted that for the last 10 years he had had problems  with his place of residence. “The case is already in court, a session  will take place in Stepenakert on May 23.

We are now meeting with citizens, preparing for the collection of  signatures. This step of the police is a political persecution in my  regard,” Babayan said. When asked whether a change of power is  possible in Artsakh, Babayan said that if the people of Artsakh, just  like the people of Armenia want a change of power, it will happen.  “About 95% of the residents of NKR do not accept the current  government, this is a fact. But will there be a change of government  or not, we will understand after meetings withby the people.  We will  arrange rallies, talk to the people and understand everything. People  are told that if they take a step, they will lose their jobs and will  be intimidated, “concluded Samvel Bababyan.Samvel Babayan has a  problem with the qualification for living in Artsakh for the last 10  years, which is necessary for nomination in the presidential  elections. Subsequently, it turned out that he was removed  from the register in Artsakh.  As the Police assured, this was done  at the request of Babayan himself.

Argishti Kyaramyan, deputy head of the State Control Service, was appointed temporary head of the State Control Service.

In a conversation with the media, this news was confirmed by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the SAO.

Who is Argishti Karamyan?

Before that, he was a 28-year-old deputy head of the State Security Service Argishti Kyaramyan became known to wide public circles when he did not want to reveal the sources of his declared millions of money and private houses in a conversation with the mass media.

The high-ranking official declared 32 million drams, 48 thousand US dollars, two private houses, four plots of land, real estate attached to the plot and a garage. In the declaration of this official, there are also jewels exceeding eight million drams.

After the regular session of the government, Kyaramyan did not want to explain how he acquired this ability in response to questions. “I think it’s ethically wrong to discuss someone’s property. I have held various positions, worked in various power structures, I officially declare that I have never been involved in any corrupt, scandalous and clan systems, nor have I engaged in business. I do not consider it correct to discuss my property in this context. I am not trying to explain what I said was enough. I am not accountable,” he said.

By the way, Argishti Kyaramyan’s wife Ruzanna Kyaramyan, is also the owner of respectable property. In his declaration, there are jewelry made of gold, diamonds and other precious metals and precious stones, the total value of which is 10 thousand dollars. Ruzanna Khachatryan has millions more like her husband. He declared 26 million drams and 46 thousand US dollars. He also has a loan of $4,000.

Then he revealed that he gave it to his uncle

Argishti Kyaramyan, acting head of the State Control Service, published a statement on the Facebook page of the State Control Service, referring to the reactions of the media regarding his property and the declaration he submitted.

“Taking into account the reaction of the press regarding my statement, I am obliged to address this issue again.

Yesterday, during the briefing, the fact that I did not clarify the genealogy of my property in terms of content was due only to the fact that I had a sincere desire to emphasize the importance of the right to privacy of the private life of every person, including an official. However, in order not to be misunderstood by the public, I inform you that a significant part of the funds presented in my declaration was given to me by my uncle living in Europe for the purpose of making a purchase, but later I did not consider this purchase appropriate.

A part of the said money was formed from periodic donations of my close relatives working abroad in the Russian Federation and other friends of our family, who have always provided me with financial assistance, considering the fact that I am not engaged in entrepreneurial activities.

For me, one of the reasons for not answering this question was that I received part of the donations before holding public positions. I have nothing to hide from the public, I have lived my whole life with the dream of a powerful motherland, I have a pronounced hatred for corruption, which I have openly demonstrated throughout my life.

I have never been guided by personal interest, no personal connection can guide me, let alone put myself above the interest of Armenia and the Armenian people. I look forward to the support of each one of you in carrying out my responsible duties. The case that has been started should be brought to its logical conclusion,” the statement said.

Asbarez: Turkish Police Ban Genocide Commemoration in Istanbul

Garo Paylan was among those participating in a Genocide commemoration after it was banned by police

Paylan Urges Discussion of Armenian Genocide in Parliament

For the second consecutive year the police in Turkey banned a planned commemoration of the Armenian Genocide which was scheduled to be held in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet Square.

Eren Keskin, co-chair of the Human Rights Association, which organized the annual event with the Istanbul Branch and Commission Against Racism and Discrimination condemned the decision, saying that negotiations with the police yielded no results, hence she moved the event in front of her organization’s offices.

Garo Paylan, an Armenian member of the Turkey’s parliament representing the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) said the ban by police was proof the democracy in Turkey was regressing.

“For years, there was a will to confront the genocide that took place 104 years ago. Nevertheless, they [the authorities] have also taken a step back from this will of confrontation. I am really sorry. Every crime which is not confronted repeats itself and, unfortunately, this crime is also repeating itself today. The great brutality that Armenians were subjected to 104 years ago is being perpetrated against the Kurdish people today,” said Paylan who urged Turkey’s government to confront its historical reality and promising to continue to fight for rights and rule of law.

“I curse the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide,” Paylan said in a Facebook post.

He also posted a photo of Faik Ali Ozansoy, the Governor of Kütahya during the Armenian Genocide, who refused to obey the Ottoman government’s orders to deport and massac the Armenian population.

“I respectfully bow before all those who, at the cost of their lives, refused to carry out the genocide order, in person of Kütahya Governor Faik Ali Ozansoy,” added Paylan on Facebook.

Paylan also issued a statement on April 24, calling on the Turkish Grand National Assembly to hold discussions about the Armenian Genocide in the Turkey’s legislature.

On April 24, 1915, political scientists, writers, poets, journalists, teachers, scientists and many other Armenian intellectuals were arrested in Constantinople, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. They were also deported to Ayash and Changhir, but later most of them were killed.

While the lives lost in 1915 cannot be recovered, in the interest of co-existing, it is important and valuable to acknowledge the painful past in our society and work toward improving relations with one another.

The Parliament should restore the rights and keep the memory of those intellectuals who were working toward the betterment of the Ottoman and Armenian people, and who were developing the educational institutions, were writing, producing, thinking, who, nevertheless, were killed on this land.

April 24, 1915 is accepted by the entire world as a day that the Armenian Genocide began. The Armenian Genocide has been a subject of discussion in numerous parliaments of the world, but has never been discussed in the Turkish parliament. Meanwhile, the parliament, where this great tragedy should be discussed, is that of the country where the tragedy has taken place. In other words, that is the parliament of Turkey.

For 104 years, Armenians around the world have been demanding the restoration of justice. Justice can be restored only within the conscience of the Turkish people and inside the Turkish parliament. The legislature that should be discussing the tragedy that happened to the Armenian people, first and foremost, must be the parliament of Turkey. And we urge to hold a parliamentary discussion on this matter.

Italian parliament to vote on proposal to declare 1915 events as ‘genocide’ Thursday

ANKARA

Turkey on Wednesday condemned a proposal in Italian parliament to declare the 1915 events as “genocide”.

Speaking to media, Omer Celik, spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, said Italy is being tricked by Armenian diaspora, which in no way wants normal relations between Turkey and Armenia.

The proposal is expected to be voted on today, according to the Italian press.

Turkey’s position is that the deaths of Armenians in eastern Anatolia in 1915 took place when some sided with invading Russians and revolted against Ottoman forces. A subsequent relocation of Armenians resulted in numerous casualties.

Ankara does not accept the alleged genocide, but acknowledges that there were casualties on both sides during the events of World War I.

Turkey objects to the presentation of the incidents as “genocide” but describes the 1915 events as a tragedy for both sides.

Ankara has repeatedly proposed the creation of a joint commission of historians from Turkey and Armenia plus international experts to tackle the issue.
