JIRAIR LIBARIDIAN: “TODAY, TIME WORKS IN FAVOR OF AZERBAIJAN”

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Member of Board of the Public Union
“Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh” Eyvaz Huseynov asked
questions to Jirair Libaridian, senior adviser to the ex-president
of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrossian during the international conference
entitled “Joint efforts for the sake of Caucasus future: Past 20
years and its lessons” in Baku.

APA reports that Huseynov asked Libaridian that whether he gave any
advice to Ter-Petrosian on occupation and he was sorry on his advices.

Libaridian said that he didn’t regret for his advices to
Ter-Petrossian: “Ter-Petrossian resigned, because he wanted a peace.

He had mistakes. We said that Armenia was a weak country and how could
it achieve the development? But others demanded the resignation of
Ter-Petrossian for change of political line.”

According to the Armenian expert, the sides of the Nagorno Karabakh
conflict must consider time frame in the settlement of the conflict:
“Today, time works in favor of Azerbaijan. But there can be other
argument that time will work in favor of Armenia. Calculations are not
always correct. You can say that you have oil, your army is strong and
etc. But you don’t know how the process will continue. Calculations
are being carried out and preference is being given to Azerbaijan. But
new Armenian generation is formed in Karabakh. 30-year-old people
in Karabakh don’t know themselves inside Azerbaijan. We must try and
make such formula that leads to the future. Both sides can compromise.

Super patriotic principle is not the settlement of the conflict.

Current ceasefire has been established temporarily. I don’t believe
in mediators and prefer direct negotiations. The experience proves it.”

The residents of Navur village in Armenian Tavush region are in shock
because of the incident that happened on Wednesday. A man had thrown
a grenade on his father-in-law’s house.

Deputy village head of Navur Mher Nigoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am
that it was an average family leaving with its everyday problems. Mher
Nigoyan found it difficult to say what the reasons could have been. He
only stated that two months ago Valentine Sargsyan, 53, had sent his
wife to Russia to stay with their two sons.

“We were very surprised that such a thing happened. He has been a
soldier, he had two sons, and they were leaving in normal conditions.

His wife was a housewife and was helping out her husband with farming,”
he said.

According to the village residents, Valentine Sargsyan had been
convicted previously for using drugs. The villagers think that jealousy
might be the reason.

The Medical Center in Berd city informs that the condition of
Valentine’s brother-in-law Boris Petrosyan continues to remain
critical.

Earlier Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that a terrible incident
happened in Armenia’s Tavush region on Wednesday. After arguing with
his wife Valentine Sarsgyan decided to solve the argument by throwing
a grenade on his father-in-law’s house, as after the argument his
