Haykakan Zhamanak: There is a complex in Armenian community due to
the advantage of Azerbaijan in the field of energy resources

Baku. Anakhanım Hidayatova – APA-Economics. Armenian government
made a decision to start prospecting for oil and gas extraction, APA
reports quoting the Armenian opposition newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak.

The newspaper writes that here the talk is about shale deposits: ‘It
is impossible to speak about huge deposits of this natural resource.

But, the government that won a little oligarchy will go and not miss
the chance to appropriate the reserve’.

According to the author of the article Aram Amatuni, prospecting of oil
and gas deposits can be pre-election propaganda in Armenia: ‘Attempts
to study oil and gas in Armenia are not new. Such attempts were made
during Soviet times, but did not meet expectations. In addition,
there is a complex in Armenian community due to the advantage of
Azerbaijan in the field of energy resources’.

Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that the Armenian-Russian talks on gas
price will be over by the end of the year.

The head of the government said this in an interview to Interfax.

“There aren’t and have never been any issues we fail to agree on. In
this case too, we have agreed on basic principles, and there remain
only some technical details to be finalized,” said Tigran Sargsyan.

The PM said that the Russian gas price will change in line with the
global situation.

“It’s obvious that the price cannot be fixed forever. The global
situation changes, prices are rising or falling, and the negotiating
parties should arrive at an agreement on how to set the price. In
this case, in the future, changes will be perceived much easier,”
said Tigran Sargsyan.

Commenting on the opinions that the gas price will nevertheless grow
next year in Armenia, the PM said:

“Everything depends on the price conjuncture, whether it will grow
or fall. We’ll see. So, I wouldn’t like to send pessimistic impulses
to our people. Let’s wait and see.”

Dersim Natives File Complaint At Icc

DERSIM NATIVES FILE COMPLAINT AT ICC

tert.am
26.11.12

Dersim natives residing in Europe have filed a criminal complaint
against those who are responsible for the bloody incidents in the
predominantly Alevi region of Dersim, now called Tunceli, in the
early years of the Republic of Turkey, in the Prosecutor’s Office in
the International Criminal Court (ICC) located in The Hague.

The Dersim natives, who currently reside in Germany, France, Belgium
and Holland, walked to the court on Friday, carrying placards that
read, “We want justice for Dersim genocide,” and handed over the
300-page criminal complaint, Turkish Today’s Zaman reports.

Speaking to reporters about the issue, lawyer Erdal Dogan said they
won’t settle with the complaint and will go to the United Nations
Human Rights Council as well.

“This court tries crimes against humanity and genocide. Our Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized, saying that what happened in
Dersim was a planned massacre. But he failed to do what is necessary
— because the massacre carried out in 1937-1938 was to Turkify the
land and eliminate the land’s Alevi identity,” he added.

It is estimated that as many as 70,000 Kurdish Alevis were killed in
Dersim between 1937 and 1938.
