“BORUSSIA” DORTMUND THANKED ARMENIAN FANS

YEREVAN, JULY 11, ARMENPRESS: “Borussia” Dortmund with the help of
its official facebook account welcomed and thanked Armenian fans for
supporting German team.

“Armenpress” reports that in the massage is particularly said:
“Greetings go out to our fans from Armenia! Thousands of you watched
the livestream yesterday and saw the first goal and assist of their
compatriot Henrikh Mkhitaryan! Thank you very much!”

In the friendly match against “Basel” Mkhitaryan scored a goal and
made an assist.

Earlier “Armenpress” had informed that Champions League finalists
Borussia Dortmund have made their third signing of the summer by
securing the services of versatile midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan (24)
from Ukrainian top club Shakhtar Donetsk. Mkhitaryan has arrived in
Dortmund on Monday morning and signed a contract until 30 June 2017. As
reports Armenpress citing the official website of German club, he will
wear the No. 10 shirt at BVB. Mkhitaryan, who has 37 Armenia caps to
his name, scored 25 goals in 29 matches in Ukrainian´s Premier Liga
and had a hand in another 10. The technically gifted and powerful
midfielder, who speaks a number of languages fluently (incl. English,
Portuguese, French, Russian), also made eight appearances in the
Champions League (two goals).

The Armenian Economic Association 2013 meetings will be jointly hosted
by Yerevan State University and the American University of Armenia on
October 19-20, followed by a workshop at the Central Bank of Armenia
on October 21st.

Scholars, graduate students, and researchers are invited to present
their research in all areas of economics. Papers may address the
European sovereign debt crisis, the aftermath of the global financial
crisis, growth and development issues in Armenia and the
South-Caucasus, regional trade patterns, or any other topic
representing current advances in economics. Both theoretical and
empirical works are welcome. There is no cost to present and
participate.

Armenia takes part in Malta music festival

VALLETTA. – The Malta International Music Festival will be held from
Friday to July 20, informs the news service of the Armenian community
of Malta.

To note, the Armenian community is a Festival sponsor.

In addition, laureate of international competitions, German-Armenian
saxophonist Hayrapet Arakelyan will conduct a master class for the
festival participants.

Musicians Anahit Ghazaryan, Melani Shakhnazaryan, and Dmitri
Ishkhanov-who already have arrived in Malta-will represent Armenia
at the international music festival.

DRIVERS DISCONTENTED WITH NEW PARKING RULES

The new parking rules have caused drivers’ discontent in Yerevan.

Parking is free within five minutes. Six-to-60-minute parking costs
AMD 100, one-day parking AMD 500.

“I strongly disapprove of it. A person lives in this building and has
to pay for parking his car in front of the building. Aren’t they going
to collect payments for going on foot as well?” a driver told Tert.am.

The Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun newspaper reported that one of the
companies owned by Mihran Poghosyan, Chief Compulsory Enforcement
Officer, won a contest for parking areas in Yerevan. Later, the
Compulsory Enforcement Service of Armenia refuted the report.

“If our office is here, where can we park?” asks a driver named Martin.

“We are paying to the state budget for taxi driving. We cannot tell
our passengers to pay 100 drams more,” taxi drivers say.

MONSTROUS RULES IN SYUNIK

Emil Budaghyan, father of Artak and Avetik Budaghyan, said in an
interview with GALA TV that his sons went to the ex-governor’s
house because the latter had invited them. He also said that Surik
Khachatryan usually invites businessmen to his house, beat them up
and send them home.

Even against the background of the tragedy in Syunik, Emil Budaghyan’s
statement still sounds monstrous. What is in general happening in
Armenia, especially in the regions? Can the governor or someone else
really invite certain people to his house, beat them up and send
them back?

The important thing is how long all this continued that someone
decided to go there with a gun to be able to defend their dignity.

They know very well that one day people will come after them so they
surround themselves with bodyguards and keep an arsenal in their
houses shooting at anyone they suspect.

The Syunik tragedy became the gates of hell of informal, backstage
relations in state and municipal authorities. It reveals new details
of the unpleasant way of life that many of those who appear before
cameras with medals and innocent expression lead.

Surik Khachatryan’s confidence that his friends will not leave him
alone means that his friends really promised to help him but it also
means that his official image was replaced by a different image of
a sinful person overwhelmed with fear and desperation.

The authorities can say that Surik Khachatryan got a punishment –
he has been dismissed, his son is in jail, and his status is low,
arsenal was found in his house. Besides, the accusation against Artak
Budaghyan is a direct accusation to Surik Khachatryan. The text of
the indictment holds: “Learning that his brother Avetik Budaghyan was
beaten up in Surik Khachatryan’s car…” This means that Khachatryan
should be charged for beating. Finally, he may be arrested for this.

But who will be responsible for the humiliation and violation of
dignity of thousands of people, who in magnificent Zangazur in fear
for years lived, knowing that they may be invited to the governor’s
house at any time, beaten and let go? Who is in charge of Armenia’s
dignity in general?

LES OUVRIERS AZERIS TRAVAILLANT A LA CONSTRUCTION DE LA ROUTE DE LA SOIE EXIGENT LEURS SALAIRES

Des centaines de travailleurs qui construisent l’ autoroute de la
Route de la Soie en Azerbaïdjan ont organise une manifestation près
de la ville meridionale de Lankaran.

Ils disent qu’ils n’ont pas ete payes depuis plus de quatre mois.

Les manifestants ont proteste au siège de Qafqaz LTD Company, qui
gère le projet finance par la Banque Modiale.

Les travailleurs ont defile plus tard devant le bureau de
l’administration de la ville de Lankaran pour exiger que leurs droits
soient respectes.

Un officiel de Qafqaz LTD a declare a RFE / RL que les salaires des
travailleurs en souffrance seront payes en totalite, mais a dit qu’il
n’etait pas au courant de tous les details.

Les travailleurs ont tenu quatre manifestations similaires ces
dernières semaines.

La dernière a eu lieu le 1er avril.

KAREKINE MARKARIAN NOMME AU POSTE DE CONSEILLER MILITAIRE A L’AMBASSADE D’ARMENIE A PARIS

L’Armenie aura pour la première fois un attache militaire a son
Ambassade a Paris. L’officier de l’Armee armenienne, le capitaine
Karekine Markarian a ete nomme a ce poste en France. Selon Erevan,
ce poste d’attache militaire visera a developper les relations entre
la France et l’Armenie en matière de Defense. Diplôme de l’Institut
militaire Vazken Sarkissian d’Erevan, Karekine Markarian est egalement
diplôme de l’Academie militaire du ministère de la Defense en France.

Il est au sein de l’Armee armenienne depuis 1998. Il est marie et
père de deux enfants.

L’HOMME D’AFFAIRE AZERI NEGATIONNISTE HAFIZ MAMMADOV A LA TETE DU RC LENS

France Football lui consacre une page entière dans son dernier numero

France Football dans son numero du 9 juillet (n°3509) consacre une
page entière avec un large portrait de l’homme d’affaire azeri Hafiz
Mammadov, coproprietaire du RC Lens avec Gervais Martel.

” Mammadov, VRP grand luxe ” titre France Football qui sous-titre ”
Veritable touche a touche-a-tout, Hafiz Mammadov est un personnage
a multiples facettes qui place au-dessus de tout son pays ” et
” le richissime ” Hafka ” aime le foot, le monde des affaires et,
plus que tout, son pays, l’Azerbaïdjan. C’est meme pour cela qu’il a
rachete Lens “. Tout est presque dit. Ce rachat partiel de RC Lens
obeit a une strategie publicitaire de l’image de l’Azerbaïdjan,
un socle egalement pour son lobbying anti-armenien…

” Avant ses cinquante ans (il les aura l’an prochain), ” Hafka ” a
constitue un empire qui rayonne sur tout le pays, dans les domaines
aussi varies que le petrole et le gaz, le transport, le BTP, le sport
et le tourisme. Entre autres. Il possède meme depuis quelques mois
la Banque d’Azerbaïdjan et s’il n’est pas entre au gouvernement, il
y dispose de solides appuis (il est en affaires avec Ziya Mammadov,
ministre des Transports) ” ecrit France Football. L’hebdomadaire
continue ” Pour devenir un homme encore plus important, toujours
plus influent, ” Hafka ” a accepte de jouer les VRP pour la patrie et
choisi pour sesame le football. Puisque son Bakou FC est incapable de

seule fois aux preliminaires d’Europa Ligue, en 2009), le ” tycoon

Martel, celui du pays n’est pas anodin. L’Azerbaïdjan a ete meurtri
par la reconnaissance, l’annee dernière, du genocide armenien par la
France. En conflit depuis des decennies avec sa voisine Armenie, il
voit des complots partout, persuade que la candidature de Mammadov
a dû enjamber des embûches glissees non seulement par des lobbies
armeniens (deux organismes ont effectivement envoye des lettres) mais
aussi par le Parlement, la LFP et, meme, le ministre des Sports ! “.

Cet homme proche du clan Aliev aurait selon le journal ” L’Equipe ”
une fortune evaluee a un milliard d’euros au point de payer 20 M~@ a
l’Atletico pour promouvoir l’Azerbaïdjan pendant trois ans. Il dirige
son groupe ” Baghlan group ” depuis Londres où il s’est installe.

Les objectifs du nouveau co-proprietaire sont affiches : promouvoir
l’image de l’Azerbaïdjan et soutenir les negationnistes du genocide
armenien et ” lutter contre les lobbies armeniens ” ! C’est a ce pacte
avec un negationniste affiche que les dirigeants du RC Lens ont donne
les cles du club qui evoluera en Ligue 2 la saison prochaine !

NOMINATION D’UN NOUVEAU GOUVERNEUR DANS LA PROVINCE DU SYUNIK

Un parlementaire pro-gouvernemental a ete nomme gouverneur de la
province du Syunik mercredi 10juillet 2013 pour remplacer le
fonctionnaire qui avait demissionne le mois dernier a la suite d’une
fusillade mortelle près de sa residence.

Le cabinet du Premier ministre Tigran Sarkissian a officialise la
nomination de Vahe Hakobian, approuvee par la direction du Parti
Republicain d’Armenie (HHK).

Hakobian, 36 ans, a ete reelu au parlement armenien dans une
circonscription du Syunik l’annee dernière. Son père Maksim est le
directeur general et actionnaire de la plus grande compagnie minière
de l’Armenie situee dans la region montagneuse frontalière de l’Iran.

” Je suis vraiment ravi d’avoir ete nomme a ce poste “, a declare
Hakobian a RFE / RL (Azatutyun.am).

Le predecesseur controverse d’Hakobian, Suren Khachatrian, a ete
contraint de demissioner le mois dernier après une fusillade
meurtrière devant sa maison a Goris. Le fils de Tigran Khachatrian et
l’un de ses gardes du corps sont actuellement en etat d’arrestation et
sont accuses de meurtre.

Khachatrian, mieux connu en Armenie sous le nom de Liska, etait
gouverneur de Goris depuis le debut des annees 1990. Les medias
independants ont longtemps allegue que lui et ses proches etaient
impliques dans des affaires obscures. Le gouverneur a toujours nie
etre implique dans ce meurtre et a denonce les politiciens de
l’opposition et les medias proches de l’opposition de ne pas avoir
respecte la presomption d’innocence.

Vahe Hakobian reste pour l’instant discret sur cette affaire et prend
peu a peu ses nouvelles fonctions.

DPA SPORTS football Germany Mkhitaryan Dortmund sign Armenian
international Dortmund, Germany Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday signed
Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a four-year contract.

“It was not an easy transfer but we absolutely wanted Henrich – and
now we have him,” said Dortmund managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke,
who secured the offensive midfielder until June 30, 2017.

Dortmund had to pay a transfer fee of 24 million euro (30.8 million
dollars) for Mkhitaryan, whose transfer rights were held predominantly
by Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 24-year-old Mkhitaryan, who will wear the number 10 shirt in
Dortmund, has earned 37 caps for the Armenian national team. He
scored 25 goals and had 10 assists in 29 matches in Ukraine’s top
flight last season.

Mkhitaryan is Dortmund’s third acquisition following Sokratis from
Bremen and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from St. Etienne.
