Tashnaq Party leader Hovik Mukhtarian met Friday Lebanese Forces
leader Samir Geagea as part of the group’s political openness toward
the various Lebanese sides.

Mukhtarian, accompanied by a delegation which included MP Hagop
Pakradounian, stressed following the meeting at Geagea’s residence in
Maarab the party’s "continuous contact" not only with the LF, but also
with the majority March 14 coalition and the Hizbullah-led Opposition.

"We, again today, agreed on the fundamental national principles found
in both the Lebanese Forces and Tashnag," Mukhtarian said.

Turning to the Cabinet issue, Mukhtarian hoped a new national unity
government would soon be formed.

He assured that Tashnag’s seat in the new Cabinet is "reserved."

>From Maarab the Armenian delegation headed for a meeting with Lebanese
Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan.

Pakradounian acknowledged following the talks that there was "more
than one obstacle" facing government formation.

He said Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun’s demand for the
appointment of his son-in-law Jebran Bassil was "only a small portion
of the problem."

"Regretfully, the problem is not just Lebanese. An Arab-Arab balance
is needed," he added.

Meanwhile, the Political Council of Armenian MPs held its periodical
meeting at Tashnag’s headquarters to discuss the latest developments,
particularly the issue of a Cabinet lineup.

A statement issued following the meeting stressed the "importance of
accelerating formation of a national unity government that will hasten
a solution for the urgent economical, social and welfare problems"
and provide the Lebanese citizens with "the right for a descent life
in their own country."

The statement also stressed the need for "widening relations with all
concerned political parties and implementing a policy of openness based
on the principles of moderation, dialogue and free decision-making."

UK Students Fill In For Zambia

UK STUDENTS FILL IN FOR ZAMBIA

Zambia had to field three British-based students in their international
against Ghana on Wednesday after their South African-based players
failed to get visas to travel to Britain in time.

Zambia had just nine players available for the meeting with the
Black Stars and two more arrived just before half-time of the match
at Leyton Orient’s ground in London.

They added the students Lyson Zulu, who was a former Premier League
player in Zambia, as well as Kasase Kabwe and Lengwe Kapotwe, who
was on the only player on the bench. But he came on after just eight
minutes when Njambe Mulenga was injured.

Emmanuel Mayuka, who plays in Armenia, and William Njobvu, who has
just moved to Israel, pitched up 10 minutes before half-time and were
immediately brought on, replacing Kabwe and Kapotwe, by then running
out of breath.

Not surprisingly, Zambia lost 4-1 to a powerful Ghana side, who might
had added a few more had they not been somewhat merciful in the second
half of the game.

Zambia played the last 50 minutes down to 10 men after defender Denis
Banda was sent off.

A bid to get visas for key players to travel to London was only made
on Monday and the paperwork was not concluded in time to get the
players to travel to Britain.

The five Premier Soccer League-based players, including Free State
Stars goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and Golden Arrows captain Joseph
Musonda, attempted to get their visas at the British High Commission in
Pretoria on Monday, which was closed because it was a public holiday.

TURKISH GROUP PRESSURES GOOGLE TO BECOME COMPLICIT IN GENOCIDE DENIAL

WASHINGTON-On Aug. 11, the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) launched
an online campaign to pressure internet giant Google into complicity
in its denial of the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian National
Committee of America (ANCA).

Google is being pressured to become complicit in Armenian Genocide
denial.

The move comes in response to Google’s recent decision to stand by
its "Don’t be Evil" motto by stopping advertisements, placed by the
TCA, which drove internet traffic to websites denying the Armenian
Genocide. The TCA’s earlier Google Ads were triggered with search
entries including "Armenia," "Armenian," and "Armenian Genocide,"
and led to the Turkish Coalition of America website-which includes
revisionist materials denying the centrally planned and systematically
carried-out campaign of extermination of the 1.5 million Armenians by
the Ottoman Turkish government from 1915-23. The TCA also advocates
against passage of Congressional legislation, H.Res.252, recognizing
the Armenian Genocide.

"The Turkish Coalition of America’s efforts to strong-arm Google to
join their Armenian Genocide denial campaign is as misguided as their
broader efforts to cover-up this crime against humanity," said ANCA
executive director Aram Hamparian. "We commend Google for reviewing
its ad policy and respecting its ‘Don’t be Evil’ motto by turning
down ads advocating hate and lies."

Google reviewed its policy on running Armenian Genocide denial ads
in June 2009, after receiving thousands of letters from concerned
Armenian Americans and human rights activists expressing outrage at
the ads. An ANCA Action Alert distributed on May 28 explained that
"These ads are misleading to Google patrons, profoundly offensive
to victims and survivors of all genocides, and contribute to an
environment of outright denial and impunity in the face of mass
atrocities that continues to fuel the cycle of genocide to this very
day." A Facebook Causes page, titled "Stop Turkey’s Anti-Armenian
Genocide Propaganda on Google AdWords!" has over 9,100 members.

The ANCA has posted an alert urging activists to contact Google in
support of their policy against genocide denial. To take action, visit

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Join use of Gabala radar with Russia is not a
priority for the United States, an expert said.

"The fact is that the U.S. like China is not aspired to launch joint
projects. It has an organization – NATO – where it acts as a leader
and controls the situation. In relations with Russia, Americans are
too skeptical. The same is about Russians," said Yuri Sigov, observer
of a Washington-based business journal.

"If U.S. really needed a monitor point it would just pay Azerbaijan
and build there whatever it wants," he said, Day.az reported

Jong II in the aftermaths of negotiations with U.S. former President
Bill Clinton.

Media women were sentenced to twelve years of corrective labor for
illegally crossing the North Korean state border.

The decision on releasing the two journalists was made public soon
after a meeting that Kim Jong II had in Pyongyang with U.S. former
President Bill Clinton.

Laura Ling, a 32 year-old American of Chinese descent, and Euna Lee,
a 36-year-old ethnic Korean, both of them working for the American
cable channel Current TV, were detained by North Korean border guards
March 17.

In early June, they were sentenced to twelve years of corrective
labor for illegally crossing the North Korean state border and making

AUGUST 5TH IN COLORADO STATE PROCLAIMED AS ‘GENOCIDE AWARENESS DAY’

ArmInfo. Colorado Governor Bill Ritter Jr. joined with the Colorado
Coalition for Genocide Awareness and Action (CCGAA), today, at a
press conference proclaiming August 5th as "Genocide Awareness Day"
in the state.

As the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) reported,
Gov. Ritter said: "We’re here today to raise awareness that Genocide
is a real thing where real people are affected in traumatic ways and
because as part of the fraternity of man or in solidarity with our
fellow human beings around the globe, we say we can’t tolerate it, that
it should not be part of our world in the twenty first century. The
first recognized genocide of the twentieth century took place in
Armenia, with the slaughter of more than a million Armenians, and we
have seen it again and again since. It is imperative that we recognize
what has happened, so we can ensure it will not happen again".

"We salute the efforts of Governor Ritter, the Colorado Coalition for
Genocide Awareness and Action and Colorado’s exceptionally vibrant
Armenian community for their ongoing commitment to ending the cycle
of genocide – through education and action," said ANCA Executive
Director Aram Hamparian.

Recession in industry will end in the second half of 2009, Armenian

prices) in the first half of this year as compared with the same
