a ete perdu.

Tall Aren.
autres. Je ne croyais pas mes yeux. Je ne voulais pas croire que les
etres humains pouvaient faire cela. ”

ANKARA: Turkish Wrestler Shamed In Twitter Ring Avoids Count On Raci

TURKISH WRESTLER SHAMED IN TWITTER RING AVOIDS COUNT ON RACISM BAN FOR NOW

Hurriyet Daily News, Turkey
Aug 14 2013

ISTANBUL

Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Rıza Kayaalp (C) has been cleared
to participate in next month’s World Championships after FILA’s latest
decision. AA Photo

Wrestling’s governing body (FILA) has delayed Rıza Kayaalp’s
suspension for racism, announcing that the case will be reviewed
after next month’s World Championships.

Kayaalp was handed a six-month ban by FILA earlier this month, but
the Turkish Wrestling Federation (TGF) appealed the decision. FILA
then ruled to postpone the case, opting to review the case against
the former world and European champion athlete’s anti-Armenian tweets.

A day earlier, TGF Chairman Hamza Yerlikaya defended Kayaalp, calling
the ban, which barred him from next month’s World Championships, was
“unlawful” and vowed to take the issue to Court of Arbitration for
Sport (CAS) if their appeal to FILA was not successful.

Wrestler’s defense

Yerlikaya hinted that the TGF would argue the controversial tweets
had not been written by Kayaalp.

In June, an account nicknamed @rizakayaalpriza, which was believed
to belong to the champion wrestler, blamed Gezi Park protesters
for “leaving the streets to Armenians” and claimed that “Armenia is
having a festival” seeing the anti-government rallies in Turkey. After
controversy erupted, the tweets were deleted but Kayaalp indirectly
admitted to posting those tweets when he spoke to the state-run
Anadolu Agency, where he said he was “misunderstood” and said his
tweets were about people who were burning and crushing things.

“There is not a racist statement by our kid,” Yerlikaya said. “There
are some tweets posted by second or third persons. That is not certain,
either.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working regime to Baku
on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations with his Azeri counterpart
Ilham Aliyev.

“The presidential visit program includes negotiations with Aliyev in
narrow and broader formats and the signing of five to six agreements

Ushakov told a press briefing in Moscow.

A plan of cooperation between the Russian and Azeri emergency
situations ministries may also be signed, he said.

“The presidents will speak about major global and regional issues, the
legal regime of the Caspian Sea and the Karabakh conflict settlement,”
Ushakov said.

The Caspian Flotilla’s Dagestan missile ship and Volgodonsk gunship
will be visiting Baku during the summit. Putin may visit one of them.

In turn, Azeri warships will pay a visit to Russia. “The time of their
visit has not been chosen but visits will be exchanged to emphasize the
fruitful nature of bilateral relations,” the presidential aide said.

Azerbaijan is a leading partner of Russia in the CIS. “Russia and
Azerbaijan maintain an intensive political dialogue and active trade,
inter-regional and cultural relations,” Ushakov said.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu,

Armenia-Based Social Network Launched

ARMENIA-BASED SOCIAL NETWORK LAUNCHED

Tuesday, August 13th, 2013

The screenshot of the Web site’s home page

YEREVAN-An Armenia-based startup, Saymetruth, announced the official
beta launch of its anonymous social network Saymetruth.com Tuesday,
where people can anonymously tell their friends, family members and
relatives the things they would never say in person.

“There are a lot of things that even best friends, family members or
relatives cannot tell each other,” said Alexander Adamyan, co-founder
of Saymetruth. “Sometimes a girl can’t tell her best friend that her
yellow shoes don’t match her dress, a husband can’t tell his wife that
she gained weight, or a son can’t say to his politician father that
he becomes too funny after the use of alcohol. The reasons for not
telling the truth are that we worry the person will misunderstand us,
take it wrongly or we just feel uneasy. But there are things that
people must know about themselves, and if we can’t say it openly,
we can do it incognito.”

One of the key points of Saymetruth.com is that people have to prove
that they know the person before sending them messages (for example,
they need to know their phone number or must be on their Facebook
friends list). Another important point is that people are not required
to register if they are just going to tell something to their friends.

If you want to help a person, the process should be quick and easy.

“If a person knows that there is even a slight probability that the
friend will find out who told them the truth, or in other words
they will be “caught”, they’ll refrain from speaking out,” says
Saymetruth co-founder Hrachya Manukyan. “There’s no possibility of
“being caught” on Saymetruth.com. There’s no need to register on
the website or provide any personal data. You just need to find your
friend and send them a message.”

Saymetruth is a global startup with plans to conquer the international
market. “Today our main goal is to gain a foothold in the US market,”
says Manukyan, “then we will move forward.”

Daily: Armenians Discriminated In Russia

DAILY: ARMENIANS DISCRIMINATED IN RUSSIA

ARMINFO
Tuesday, August 13, 14:21

Armenians have been discriminated in Russia on a massive scale,
Zhamank daily reported referring to its own sources.

Such an attitude is demonstrated not only regarding illegal migrants
but also the Armenians with Russian citizenship. About 70 Armenians
have been recently detained near one of the facilities that belong to
the owner of the Tashir Group, businessman of the Armenian origin,
Samvel Karapetyan. They were placed in two buses and deported. The
great majority of these Armenians had a right for part-time residence
and work.

According to some experts, the reason of this hidden tension in the
relations between Armenia and Russia is the forthcoming initialing
of the Association Agreement between Yerevan and Brussels in Vilnus.

Organizations Urge Barzani To Apologize For Genocides

ORGANIZATIONS URGE BARZANI TO APOLOGIZE FOR GENOCIDES

August 13, 2013 – 15:46 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – The American Mesopotamian Organization and Iraqi
Christian Relief Organization sent a letter to Masoud Barzani, the
President of the Kurdish Regional Government in Iraq, offering him
“a noble challenge to issue a formal apology to the Armenian and
Assyrian descendants of the survivors of the genocides committed
by the Kurdish allies of the Ottoman Turks against the indigenous
Christian populations of the region, during and subsequent to WWI,”
according to Assyria Times.

“In the past several months, your regional government has been
successful in convincing several European governments to formally
recognize the “Kurdish genocide” committed by Saddam’s regime. We
can certainly empathize with and affirm the suffering of the Kurdish
people of Iraq, particularly since the Assyrian Christians, too,
suffered loss of life and property during the same period. This
provided a missed opportunity for you to make an attempt to amend the
troubled and strained relations between our two nations by including
the sufferings of the Assyrians within your efforts to seek recognition
of the “Kurdish Genocide”.

The last few hundred years of Assyrian-Kurdish relations have been
mired with massacres, forced deportations and the deforcement of land
and personal possessions of Assyrians by Kurds. As a direct result of
these heinous acts, the Assyrian presence has dwindled significantly
in Northern Iraq, South Eastern Turkey, and North Western Iran.

Additional adverse consequences of these atrocities have been the
marginalization of the political and human rights of the indigenous
Assyrians by the Kurds. Today’s expansion of the Kurdish population
is a direct benefactor of the massacres perpetrated by their not so
distant ancestors. This rise in population has not only resulted in
the renaming of historical Assyria as Western, Eastern, Northern and
Southern “Kurdistan”, but it has also resulted in the renaming of the
Assyrian regions and cities and replacing them with Kurdish names,”
the letter says.

“In light of your ambitious efforts for the world to consider you as
a legitimate, duly elected representative government of all Kurds in
Iraq; hence, as their spokesperson, we request you to issue apologies
for past atrocities committed by Kurdish tribes and warlords against
the indigenous Christian populations of the region, including Assyrians
and Armenians, while allied with the Ottoman Turks. As you are no doubt
aware, there is clear and convincing evidence, consisting of extensive
corpus of academic research, documents, and archival material,
which prove Genocide, was perpetrated against the entire Christian
population of the former Ottoman Empire during and following the First
World War. The nascent, Young-Turk government systematically executed
a policy of extermination against its own Christian citizens through
massacres, death marches and forced deportations. As a consequence
of these barbaric acts, several millions of Assyrians, Armenians and
Greeks lost their lives and those that survived lost everything they
owned from personal belongings to their homes and agricultural lands,”
it says.

“Now, we are challenging you to issue a formal announcement,
apologizing for the suffering and genocide of the Assyrians and
Armenians, and acknowledging the direct involvement and active
participation of the Kurdish tribes. Although it would behoove you
to rise to the occasion, you will simply ignore our challenge and
demand for justice. Be reminded that you must stand on the very
high moral grounds you expect and demand of your oppressors. Take
responsibility for the past atrocities as you expect the same from
the Iraqi government,” the letter concludes.
