matériel médical ultramoderne

Dans le cadre du partenariat d’aide sociale entre la compagnie
arménienne de téléphonie VivaCell-MTS et l’organisation britannique
BirthLink, la maternité de la ville de Talin -ville arménienne jumelée
avec la ville française de Bourg-Lès-Valence- a reçu du matériel
médical, des appareillages coûteux et de très grande importance. Ce
matériel améliora les services et apportera une plus grande sécurité
pour suivi médical post-natal. Il permettra ainsi de sauver des vies
de nouveaux nés. > dit Ralf Yirikian le directeur de VivaCell-MTS qui
redistribue une partie de ses bénéfices en finançant des oeuvres
sociales, éducative, économiques ou médicales. En 2015 VivaCell-MTS et
BirthLink vont équiper de matériel médical 14 cliniques ou maternités
des régions d’Ararat, Arakadzodn, Kodaïk, Armavir et Lori.

French-German TV to air Armenian Genocide centennial commemoration films

On the occasion of the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, the ARTE
cultural television will air two films in April, reported the French
Armenian Nouvelles d’Arménie magazine.

On April 27, it will broadcast “The Lark Farm” by Paolo and Vittorio
Taviani, and on the next day, ARTE will screen the new documentary,
entitled “The Vengeance of Armenians: The Tehlirian Trial,” by Bernard
Georges.

Prosperous Armenia ex-leader’s in-law quits party

YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party National Assembly (PAP NA) Faction
member Murad Guloyan, who is also the in-law of PAP ex-Chairman Gagik
Tsarukyan, is leaving the party, Guloyan himself toldArmenian
News-NEWS.am.

The deputy, however, will continue his activities within the PAP NA
Faction, but as an independent MP, albeit he may also quit the faction
in the future.

Guloyan noted that he has no problems with the newly elected PAP
Chairperson, Naira Zohrabyan.

As for the PAP now working as an opposition political force, he simply
responded: “We will see.”

To note, Murad Guloyan’s son Karapet Guloyan, who is the mayor of
Abovyan city, had already announced about quitting the PAP.

As reported earlier, speaking at the February 12 meeting of the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Board, President Serzh Sargsyan, who
is also chairman of the RPA Board, had stated that then-PAP Chairman,
MP and oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan had become a vice for the country as a
political player. He also relieved the PAP leader from his status as a
National Security Council member, and promised that a process will
begin in connection with Tsarukyan’s frequent absence from the
parliament sessions.

In response to President Sargsyan’s remarks, Gagik Tsarukyan issued a
statement, on February 13, noting that the incumbent authorities must
be removed from power immediately. In addition, he urged to achieve
Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation by way of lawful political methods.

On February 17, however, Serzh Sargsyan and Gagik Tsarukyan held a
brokered talk, and on the next day, the then-PAP leader issued a
milder statement. He also called off the rally that was slated for
February 20.

And on Thursday, March 5, Tsarukyan announced that he is quitting
active politics, PAP National Assembly Faction Secretary Naira
Zohrabyan was elected new leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, and
she declared the latter–which had been a non-pro-government force–an
opposition party.

Armenian Genocide Centennial exhibition opens at Vittoriano Museum
Complex in Rome

ROME, 7 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On March 5, Minister of Culture of the
Republic of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan, Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino,
Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Italy Sargis Ghazaryan,
Armenia’s Ambassador to the Holy See Mikayel Minasyan, Director of the
Vittoriano Museum Complex of the Italian Renaissance in Rome
Alessandro Nicosia attended the official opening ceremony of the
exhibition called “Armenia: People of the Ark” at the central gallery
of the Vittoriano Museum Complex of the Italian Renaissance. As the
news service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the exhibition was organized by the
Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the embassies of
Armenia in Italy and the Holy See, in association with the Mekhitarist
Congregation and the Congregation of Fathers of Italy.

Among the hundreds of visitors were Italian public and political
figures, senators and deputies, as well as representatives of the
diplomatic corps and the Armenian community. Minister of Culture
Hasmik Poghosyan, Director of the Vittoriano Museum Complex Alessandro
Nicosia and Armenia’s Ambassador to Italy Sargis Ghazaryan gave
welcome speeches. The exhibition will run until May 3rd and will
showcase documents related to the Armenian Genocide, as well as the
adoption of Christianity in Armenia, the creation of the Armenian
alphabet, the bibliography of Armenian books, Armenian arts and
architecture, the centuries-old relations between the Armenians and
the Italians and the great presence of Armenian culture in Italy.

Rival violated ceasefire regime for 1000 times in a week

STEPANAKERT, MARCH 7, ARMENPRESS: According to the operative data,
provided by the Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, within
March1-7 the rival violated the ceasefire regime for about 1000 times
in the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies.
The Press Service of the Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic
informed Armenpress that during that period more than 21,000 shots
were made towards our troops from weapons of different caliber,
including 60 and 82 mm mortars, Istiglal, AGS-17, DShK, RPK and
others.
Also, rival used ZSU-23-2 in the Northern (Shahumyan) direction. The
front units of the Defense Army took relevant steps to render the
aforesaid weapon emplacement harmless, due to which at least 3
soldiers of the rival and ZSU-23-2 have been crippled.
During the same period, the units of the Martakert direction of the
Armed Forces of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic carried out preventive
actions in the North-Eastern part of the line of contact of the
opposing armies. According to the confirmed data, 4 servicemen of the
Azerbaijani special task forces, who entered the area of the
operation, were eliminated during the combats.
The Armenian side had no casualties during the abovementioned operations.
The front units of the Defense Army continue confidently carrying out
their military objective along the entire line of contact and imposing
their will on the rival.
Earlier it was reported that the names of the three of seven
Azerbaijani saboteurs, who were eliminated at night on March 6 by the
Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, are known. Armenpress
reports, citing the own sources that they are the servicemen Zamin
Aminov, Alekper Abasov and Shalal Hasanov.

High-quality neonatal care equipment provided to the maternity
department of Talin hospital

As VivaCell press-office reported to ArmInfo, VivaCell- MTS General
Manager Ralph Yirikian has visited the maternity department in Talin
hospital. Owing to the joint project by VivaCell-MTS and “BirthLink”
NGO, the maternity department of the hospital has received
high-quality medical equipment for neonatal care: a mobile warmer, a
phototherapy device, infusion pumps, a pulse oximeter, heated
mattress, an emergency bag and other facilities. The provided
equipment is essential for quality healthcare of sick and low birth
weight babies in case of complications around the time of birth or
complications due to prematurity.

“There are projects which are important not only from strategic point
of view or for their perceptiveness, but they also give us a feeling
of individual gratification for being a part of a worthy cause. It is
impossible to stay indifferent when witnessing these infants’ struggle
for life. This is the reason why our Company wanted to give them a
part of hope and confidence by providing equipment of essential
necessity,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian commented.

In 2015, in the frames of the joint project by VivaCell-MTS and the
British NGO “BirthLink”, state-of-the- art medical equipment will be
provided to 14 maternity hospitals, encompassing Ararat, Aragatsotn,
Kotayk, Armavir, Lori regions and Yerevan.

The project commenced in 2008, and till now VivaCell-MTS has provided
over AMD 535 million for the realization of the program.

Herand M. Markarian : The Martyred Armenian Writers 1915-1922: An
Anthology Libra-6 Productions, N.Y., 2015

Tandis que les Armeniens a travers le monde s’appretent a commemorer le
centenaire du genocide armenien, le docteur Herand Markarian, ecrivain
et dramaturge, s’est fixe pour ambition de celebrer treize des plus
grands ecrivains armeniens, martyrises lors du genocide, dans une
nouvelle anthologie intituleeThe Martyred Armenian Writers 1915-1922.

L’anthologie de Markarian, publiee en debut d’annee par Libra-6
Productions, a New York, commence par une introduction a l’histoire de
l’Armenie, en s’interessant particulièrement aux Armeniens de l’empire
ottoman et a l’evolution de la litterature armenienne ottomane.

Markarian livre ensuite a ses lecteurs une histoire concise, mais
methodique, du genocide armenien a travers les recits des temoins
oculaires, ainsi qu’une chronologie des evenements durant le genocide,
d’après les Memoires du Très Reverend Krikoris Balakian. Markarian
consacre aussi une page aux differentes prisons, où les ecrivains et
intellectuels armeniens de Constantinople furent detenus a partir du
24 avril, et ensuite assassines.

Les dernières heures de Daniel Varoujan, Roupen Sevag et Indra
[Dikran Tchakrian] sont detaillees a travers des extraits de Mikaël
Chamdandjian et Ohan Bedikian, deux temoins oculaires du genocide.

Markarian propose ensuite des biographies detaillees des treize
ecrivains martyrs – parmi lesquels Roupen Zartarian, Kegham Parseghian,
Yeroukhan [Yervant Sermakechkanlian], Hrant [Melkon Gurdjian] et
Daniel Varoujan Рet met en lumi̬re leurs traits et leurs prouesses
litteraires.

L’apport principal de l’anthologie de Markarian est peut-etre sa
traduction hors pair des oeuvres. Les extraits sont choisis avec
soin et tr̬s divers quant au style et au genre litteraire Рallant
des pièces (comme L’Aigle d’Avaraïr, de Sempad Piourad) aux poèmes
(“La Danse” de Siamanto), aux oeuvres de fiction (Le Poids de la
responsabilite, de Krikor Zohrab) et aux essais (La Vie des emigrants,
de Hrant).

Markarian a realise un travail exceptionnel en presentant quasiment
toutes les facettes de la litterature armenienne d’alors. Les
traductions des versions armeniennes d’origine sont d’une precision
remarquable et essentielles au succès de ce livre.

Tandis que nous approchons du 100ème anniversaire de cette nuit, où
la plupart de ces ecrivains furent arretes, pour etre ensuite mis a
mort, l’ouvrage de Markarian se revèle etre un hommage approprie aux
martyrs de ce qui est parfois appele notre Dimanche rouge.

[Rupen Janbazian est ne et a grandi a Toronto, dans l’Ontario, au
Canada. Il est diplôme de l’universite de Toronto, où il a acheve
un double cursus en histoire et en civilisation des Proche- et
Moyen-Orient. Il a exerce auprès des instances locales et nationales
de la Federation de la Jeunesse Armenienne (AYF) du Canada et
l’association Hamaskaïne de Toronto, et comme administrateur du Comite
National Armenien (ANC) de cette meme ville. Janbazian a aussi enseigne
l’histoire de l’Armenie et anime des ateliers d’ecriture a l’Ecole
armenienne de l’Armenian Relief Society (ARS) [Secours Armenien],

LEBANESE COMPANY WANTS TO PRESENT 20,000 FUR TREES TO ASHTARAK TOWN

One of the Lebanese companies expressed its wish to present around
20,000 fur trees to Ashtarak town, as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Armenia Jean Makaron said at
his meeting with Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan held on 4 March.

Under Public Relations Department of Agriculture Ministry, an area
has already been allotted for planting fur trees.

NO-TSARUKIAN PAP WILL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, POLITICAL TECHNOLOGIST SAYS

YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP)
will maintain its political force status, but will change into a
completely different party, political technologist Vigen Hakobyan
said on Spitnik-Armenia air on Thursday, as cited by Novosti-Armenia.

Member of parliament from PAP Naira Zohrabyan was elected as the
head of the party at Thursday’s election. Zohrabyan said the party
has moved into opposition. Zohrabyan was nominated by PAP ex-leader
tycoon Gagik Tsarukian.

“PAP headed by Tsarukian and PAP without Tsarukian is two different
things”, Hakobyan said.

The political technologist said throughout the years of his party
leadership Tsarukian has been avoiding the opposition status. He
declared himself an alternative first and a power-off party later,
Hakobyan said.

Today Tsarukian has to leave the field as, being an alternative,
he demanded a snap election, the expert said. Yet, PAP’s new leader
claimed the party moves into opposition but said nothing about
demanding a snap election, Hakobyan said.

The expert also said the tycoon will try to stay away from political
processes to prove he has nothing to do with the party anymore.

“It is difficult to say right now who will take the leadership in
the opposition field,” the expert said adding that the fight for
leadership has just started.

“I am sure the authorities will get involved in the fighting as well,
to bring forces convenient to them to the field,” Hakobyan said.

Prosperous Armenia, a moderate centrist liberal-leaning party,
was established in April 2004 by Gagik Tsarukyan, a prominent
entrepreneur. In the 2012 parliamentary elections, the party won
36 of 131 seats in the National Assembly forming the second biggest
faction here. According to some estimates, Tsarukian is one of the
top three richest men in the country. -0–

ISKANDARYAN: PROSPEROUS ARMENIA HAS NO MORE INFLUENCE

Prosperous Armenia Party no longer has any influence in the political
arena, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan told reporters
on Friday.

Gagik Tsarukyan’s future role can only be considered in the context
of the issue of whether or not he will continue financing the party,
said the analyst.

In his words, politics is a market: there is a demand for an opposition
force, but the supply is absent. Given the social discontent in
Armenia, any political force with the will to satisfy it may succeed.
