Russia’s influence is not so great for processes going on there to
start in Armenia, Giro Manoyan, Head of the Hay Dat office, Armenian
Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), told journalists as
he spoke of the impact the ongoing political processes may have on
Armenia’s domestic political life.

On the other hand, Manoyan believes that Armenia may modify its
foreign policy in case Vladimir Putin is re-elected president of
Russia. The work styles of Vladmir Putin and Dmitri Medvedev are
obviously different, which means changes in the region in case Putin
becomes Russia’s president.

ACCESSIBILITY REMAINS THE MAIN OBSTACLE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF INGOING TOURISM IN ARMENIA

September 27 is marked as World Tourism Day. Congratulating all
representatives of the sphere on this occasion, Chairman of the
Armenian Union of Ingoing Tour Operators Robert Minasyan said tourism
is not just traveling, but also an industry.

Certainly, there have been positive moves in the sphere over the past
20 years: the number of tourists visiting Armenia has grown, tourism
has been declared a priority direction in our country. However, there
is still much to be done in the field, Robert Minasyan told a press
conference today.

Tourism is also industry: it envisages flow of large sums, creation of
jobs. The revenues from this branch of industry comprise a large share
of GDP in a number of countries, he said, refuting the assertions
that the development of ingoing tourism in Armenia is impossible
because of the lack of sea.

He advises to look at the world map: there are a number of countries
that have no see, but have developed tourism. It’s noteworthy that
30-40% of the revenues of the sphere come from ingoing tourism.

“We must try to reach this,” Robert Minasyan said, noting that we
are moving in that direction.

Accessibility remains the main obstacle to the development of ingoing
tourism in Armenia: the services are expensive, while often the price
does not correspond to the quality of services.

NKR: Azerbaijan Is Again Caught In A Lie

AZERBAIJAN IS AGAIN CAUGHT IN A LIE

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic

The Information Center of Russian Armenians’ Yerkramas newspaper
received an official message from the FRG Armenian community regarding
the falsifications of some Azerbaijani information resources.

In late August 2011, on the eve of the Armenian Culture Days scheduled
for September 16-22, 2011 in the city of Stuttgart, an article
was placed at some Azerbaijani websites – ‘German Bishop: Armenia
Must Leave the Occupied Azerbaijani Territories’, in particular,
asserting that Bishop Dr. Faige had stated that “Armenians must leave
the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”.

Recently, the Armenian community of the FRG has received an
official letter from the press service of Magdeburg city’s eparchy
disclosing this information. The letter, in particular, reads,
“During the ceremony of handing the Otto-Keizer Prize of Federal
Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel in Magdeburg, a man came up to the
bishop (Bishop Dr. Faige is meant) and introduced himself as an
Azerbaijani organization’s representative. The bishop understood
neither the man’s nor the organization’s name. This man (probably,
President of the Central Council of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the
FRG is meant) urgently asked the bishop to express his opinion on the
Nagorno Karabakh issue. He (the bishop is meant) refused to express
his view on this issue, having no actual information. Generally, the
bishop expressed his opinion that all conflicts should be resolved
in a peaceful way. No further statements were made”.

So, another attempt of the Azerbaijani party to mislead the
international community and its own people was frustrated.
