COOPERATION BETWEEN MES OF ARMENIA AND KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD IS CONTINUING

Today, on September 25th RA Minister of extraordinary situations Armen
Ericyan received the commander of Kansas National Guard, general-major
Li Tafanel~Rs delegation. The main aim of the meeting was to discuss
the directions of cooperation and the prospective of the development
between MES of Armenia and Kansas National Guard.

Greeting the guests the minister appreciated the cooperation results
and assured that cooperation will continue. ~SI would like to thank
you once more for inviting our employees to get acquainted with the
work of American ~S911~T. According to RA governments decision the
observatory of Garni temple passed to MES and it will become a regional
center of investigations and I am sure that by your next visit you will
find a modern observatory. The number of anti-hail station have been
increased, the trust to ~S911~T rapid reaction service has greatly
increased, during 4 months we had more than 400 thousand calls.~T-
noted the minister.

General-major Li noted that though a year passed from his last visit,
there are obvious advances. ~SI know that lately Armenian rescuers
have had an excellent performance in military trainings.~T As possible
directions of cooperation the minister noted the sphere of seismic
protection and the proficiency of ~S911~T service.

The commander of Kansas National Guard assured that he will do
everything to deepen and expand the cooperation.

Nowadays the public transport in Yerevan keeps causing inconveniences
to the citizens. This topic has repeatedly been discussed but the cart
is still in its place: the responsible office continues to neglect
the issue. Today the topic of lurer.com’s survey is the same beaten
but insoluble issue. Citizens using public transport express their
dissatisfaction with the current situation and expect an immediate
solution to the problem.

It seems like we got used to being transported while standing or
while the transport is overloaded. The society is already tired
of the inadequate living of the 21st century. There was a period,
when the law banned the transportation of “standing passengers”,
but the law was forgotten as rapidly, as it was accepted, because the
application of the law was not logical in the case when there is lack
of means of transportation.

The video has been prepared for one purpose- to raise the current

RF ACCUSED EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT IN INTERFERING IN THEIR INTERNAL AFFAIRS

Parliament in interfering in their internal affairs. Russian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs responded to the suggestion of a group of European
Parliement deputies to award a Sakharov Prize for “Freedom of Thought”
establish by European Parliament in 1988 to punk band Pussy Riot.

Armenpress reports citing “American Voice” Russian service.

Konstantin Dolgov, responsible for human rights and democracy declared
that he hoped that the suggestion of European Parliament wouldn’t be
accepted. The members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot were charged
with hooliganism after performing a protest song in Moscow’s Christ
the Saviour cathedral in February.

SERZH SARGSYAN HIGHLY EVALUATED THE ACTIVITY OF FUND FOR ARMENIAN RELIEF

hosted Fund for Armenian Relief delegation led by Archbishop Khajak
Parsamian. As Armenpress was informed from the presidential press
office Serzh Sargsyan highly evaluated the activity of Fund for
Armenian Relief nad highlighted that FAR aided Armenia during the
hardest periods for Armenian nation.

“Being founding just after the devastating earthquake in Spitak in 1988
FAR not only supported our nation but also continued to participate
in the solving of issues which newly independent Armenia had to face,
unfortunately, the earthquake was not the only disaster which out
nation withstood” Serzh Sargsyan said. The President welcomed that the
Fond is gradually replacing its aid projects by development projects
which is of crucial importance for our country.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude in behalf of Armenian nation
to the leadership of FAR, all the employees and donors who constantly
make possible the activity of FAR with their donations.

“Our goal is to have a developed, strong country and joint nation.

Diaspora is strong with Armenia, Armenia is strong with the Diaspora”
Serzh Sargsyan highlighted.

DEMOCRAT: SERZH SARGSYAN SHOULD BEG PEOPLE NOT TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY

President Serzh Sargsyan should come forward with a statement and
beg Armenians not to leave the country, the leader of the Democratic
Party of Armenia, Aram Sargsyan, said at today’s press-conference.

“Armenia has been emptying at present, and even the authorities
confess that a little bit more than 2 million people remained in the
country. For this reason, Sargsyan should ask Armenians to stand a
little bit more till improvement of social and economic situation
in the country. However, the authorities have been doing nothing in
this direction. On the contrary, they have been trying to hide the
created situation”, – Sargsyan said and added that development of
industry and opening of job places are necessary for improvement of
social and economic situation.

When estimating the activity of the government, Sargsyan said they
must not speak about problems for 4 years, but observe implementation
of tasks or create conditions for their implementation. He thinks that
in this case there were no conditions to fulfill the needed work. He
also added that if the president does not punish embezzlers of state
property, his criticism will be understood like an election PR.

EVGENI KISSIN NEVER VISITS TURKEY

Famous pianist Evgeni Kissin is in Yerevan in the framework of 13th
Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival. He will perform
at Aram Khachaturian concert hall on September 27th.

The pianist said that he is very happy to be in Armenia for the first
time in 28 years. He confessed that never visits Turkey because they
didn’t accept the fact of Armenian genocide. The pianist said that
“Yerevan festival” already sounds trustful.

Kissin was born in 1971 in Russia in the family of Jews. In 2000
and 2010, he was awarded with Grammy. The founding president of the
13th international festival, Stepan Rostomian noted that “Armenian
perspectives” has really helped Armenia after the earthquake.

THEATRICAL GROUPS FROM 20 COUNTRIES TO PARTICIPATE IN ”HAY FEST”

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: “Hay fest” theatrical festival
is celebrating its 10th anniversary . Current year “Hay fest” is
going to be launched with “Never miss” title. The festival director
Artur Ghukasyan told the reporters current year 25 theatrical and
dance groups from 18 countries, including European countries, Japan,
Russia, Iran, Georgia are going to come forth within the framework
of the festival, Armenpress reports.

“The festival is aimed to make Yerevan a large -scale stage where
each and every citizen will be apt to find its theatre. This year the
outdoor performances will be paid a great attention to, Armenpress
reports. 200 participants and guests, including international
festivals’ directors and producers are expected to patake. The
participation of local theatrical groups has also become a kind of
good tradition. Within social responsibility current year “Hay fest”
is cooperating with vulnerable family children. The cups anticipated
for the quests will be painted by those children. The kids will be
enabled a chance to follow up the festival performances for children
free of charge.

OPPOSITION MP INTERESTED IN EFFICIENCY OF EXPENDITURES, NOT IN HOW MUCH WERE SPENT

Listening to the report of the deputy finance minister Atom
Janjughazyan during the annual report on 2011 budget implementation, MP
from opposition Armenian National Congress Gagik Jhangiryan considered
it a very good one at the same time asking about the efficiency of
spending the allocated money.

“It is quite understandable how much were spent from the budget,
and it is clear that the money are being spent at full but serious
things are hidden under it,” he said.

“We do not implement studies, there is no government or president’s
control mechanism for us to understand the efficiency of expenditures.

We come and fix that more than 100% of the allocated money were spent
and the film ends,” the MP stressed.

Gagik Minasyan, chairman of the Finance-crediting and budget affairs
standing committee, said that besides the financial side the content
too be presented. In response Jhangiryan said it never happens when
head of the institution states the money were spent inefficiently.

The MP said a control mechanism should be applied which will tell
more than the presented figures.

LA FETE DE LA SAINTE CROIX AU SAINT SIEGE D’ETCHMIADZIN

Le 16 septembre l’Eglise Apostolique armenienne a celebre avec une
grande solennite une des fetes principales de l’Eglise armenienne,
la fete de la Sainte Croix, qui est consacree a l’evenement historique
du retour de la croix de la captivite et sa glorification.

Sa Grâce l’Eveque Hovnan Hakobian ; le Grand Sacristain du Saint
Siège d’Etchmiadzin, a conduit la Divine Liturgie dans la Cathedrale
du Saint Siège d’Etchmiadzin. Dans son sermon Sa Grâce a mentionne le
symbole sacre de la croix. ” La croix est le symbole et le signe de
la croyance Chretienne. La croix est le premier signe saint pour les
Chretiens et le crucifix est digne d’adoration. (…) La Croix est
l’expression d’amour et, en meme temps, le sacrifice pour l’amour “.

À la fin de son sermon Sa Grâce a charge le fidèle de porter la croix
avec dignite comme nos ancetres dans le passe, en rappelant que la
voie de la croix mène au sauvetage.

Après les services du soir, un cortège officiel de la croix a eu lieu
mene par Son Eminence Nathan Hovhannissian ; directeur du Departement
des Publications du Saint Siège et President du Conseil du Clerge de
l’Eglise armenienne.

Le reliquaire cheri contenant un morceau de la Croix de Jesus Christ,
qui a ete enveloppe dans des fleurs, a ete enleve du musee et emmene
dans la Cathedrale du Saint Siège. Avec une grande solennite la relique
a ete menee autour des quatre côtes de la Cathedrale et employee dans
la Benediction des Quatre Coins du Monde. En conclusion, les Diacres
de la Fraternite de Saint Etchmiadzin ont distribue les fleurs aux
fidèles qui etaient presents.

LE SECTEUR AGRICOLE EN NETTE EVOLUTION

Le secteur agricole de l’Armenie est en passe de croître pour la
deuxième annee consecutive, a declare le ministre de l’Agriculture
Sergo Karapetian mardi 25 septembre 2012.

Les donnees du gouvernement demontrent que la production agricole est
en hausse de 10,8% par an, ce qui represente 431,2 milliards de drams
(1,1 milliard de dollars) pour les huit premiers mois de 2012.

” Cette tendance va se poursuivre jusqu’a la fin de l’annee. Nous avons
fait des progrès dans tous les secteurs “, a declare aux journalistes
Karapetian après avoir inaugure une nouvelle entreprise agricole
dans la province nord-ouest de Shirak. Les conditions meteorologiques
favorables ont a nouveau joue un rôle important dans cette croissance,
se traduisant par une forte hausse de la production nationale de
fruits et legumes. Leurs prix de vente au detail cette annee ont
ete nettement inferieurs par rapport a 2011. Selon Karapetian, les
exportations de legumes armeniens representent 21 500 tonnes pour
les mois de janvier au mois d’août, contre 16 800 tonnes en 2011.

Le ministre a indique que la production de ble de l’Armenie augmentera
cette annee malgre la baisse des rendements annonce par le ministère
de l’Agriculture. Le gouvernement armenien s’est engage a contribuer
a accroître la production nationale de ble de plus de 50% d’ici a
2014 dans le cadre de sa strategie de renforcement de la securite
alimentaire du pays.

Le ministre a egalement enregistre une croissance modeste de l’elevage,
qui est l’activite principale agricole dans la plupart des pays
montagneux. La pauvrete rurale est particulièrement repandue dans
ces regions.

L’agriculture compte pour environ un cinquième de l’Armenie du produit
interieur brut (PIB).
