Ter Petrossian : " Sarkissian A Trompe L’Europe Et Humilie L’Armenie

TER PETROSSIAN : ” SARKISSIAN A TROMPE L’EUROPE ET HUMILE L’ARMENIE ”

EUROPE

L’adhésion a l’Union douanière permettra également d’éliminer

altro odio e sofferenza’.

We Say NO to War

We Say NO to War

08-09-2013 18:29:01 | USA | Politics

Two years ago, the Arab Spring blossomed, inspiring the
poverty-stricken oppressed masses of the Arab nation to hope for a
just society, built on Freedom and Democracy.

Unfortunately, the use of brutal force and violence followed soon.
For us, Armenians, a significant country like Syria became the theater
of civil-wars. Other countries too, like the Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt
with significant Armenian Diaspora communities are also victims of
political instability.

As a direct result of regional forces in violent competition, on one
side the Shiite led by the Islamic Republic of Iran versus the Sunni
led by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, then the Arab-Israeli
battleground, further strained by Super-power proxy conflicts led by
the United States of America and its Western allies against Russia and
China, arming both sides, converting Syria into a blood-soaked Hell.

The recent threats of military strikes against Syria, by the US and
its Western allies have caused us, European Armenians, deep
humanitarian concerns, as official wars can spread out, engulf whole
regions, with incalculable and unpredictable evil consequences,
producing more destruction of property, death by the hundred
thousands, refugees by the millions; inconsolable grief, pain and
suffering.

We, the Assembly of Armenians of Europe, reject categorically and
totally the war of warmongering and imperialist powers, and we join
our voices to the chorus of peace-loving and democratic forces.

The ultimate victim of War(s) is the human kind, the very human being
itself as a species – those who foolishly profit from mankind’s
destruction are the Armament industry and the parasites that feed on
it.

We say NO, a thousand times No to War and Warmongering.

Pope Francis Leads Peace Prayer Vigil For Syria With 100,000 at St.
Peter’s Square, millions worldwide

Sep 08, 2013

The Vatican, (SANA) – Tens of thousands of people filled St. Peter’s Square
for a Syria peace vigil late Saturday in the Vatican, answering Pope
Francis’ call for a cry for peace that was echoed by peace supporters
around the world.

Pope Francis addressed those who threat of a military aggression on Syria
without mentioning them by name” this evening, I would chant from all over
the world=85yes, it is possible for everybody to tell those who are ruling
nations=85 yes, we can.”

” let’s pray in dear Syria, in the Middle East and around the world for the
reconciliation=85let’s work for reconciliation and peace.”

“Can we go out of the unfortunate death whirlpool?=85can we learn once again
to live for peace?” he added.

This evening, I ask the Lord that we Christians, and our brothers and
sisters of other religions and every man and woman of good will, cry out
forcefully: Violence and war are never the way to peace!” he said.

“May the noise of weapons cease!” he said. “War always marks the failure of
peace, it is always a defeat for humanity.”

The Vatican estimated about 100,000 took part in the Rome event, making it
one of the largest rallies in the West against proposed U.S.-led military
action against Syria.

Worldwide fasting, prayer day for peace in Syria

Prayers for restoring peace to Syria and the Middle East and rejecting any
military aggression on Syria were also held in tens of countries around the
world including Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, India,
Argentina, Venezuela, the USA, Britain, France, Croatia, Bosnia, Italy, the
Philippines and others.

In Lebanon, many churches held the vigils for peace in Syria and the
Middle East, chaired by the Cardinal Beshara al-Rahi, Patriarch of the

Cardinal al-Rahi said” we celebrate the birthday of virgin Mary, the Lady
of Peace, and we have been fasting and praying daylong for peace of Syria
and the Middle East upon the invitation of Pope Francis.

In coincidence with prayers, nationalistic and Pan-Arab Palestinian powers
and events continued to organize protests and marches in rejection of the
U.S. threats against Syria in different towns and areas.

Sheikh Nasser al-Qerm, member of the Supreme Judiciary Council in
Palestine said” We came from the provinces of the north West Bank to
express our anger and condemnation of the U.S. intentions of launching an
aggression on the brotherly Syria=85we stress it is nothing but a U.S.
attempt to re-shape the Arab and Islamic world according to a new
Sykes-Picot.

Wide participation of Churches of Egypt Churches

Egypt answered the call of Pope Francis, holding prayers for the
protection of Syria and the return of peace and security in it and against
any military intervention against it. In St. Theresa Church, Armenian
Catholic Bishop of Alexandria, Augustinos Koussan prayed to God to restore
peace and security to Syria, calling upon all countries to stand in support
of Syria.

“We pray for the rogue hands of murder, terrorism and mercenaries to move
away from Syria and for any foreign aggression being prepared against it to
move away, so that it may move on anew and continue its humanitarian
message,” he said.

In St. Fatima Church, a mass was attended by Apostolic Vicar of
Alexandria, Bishop Adel Zaki, and Chaldean prelate, Monsignor Philip Negm.
Coptic Catholic Bishop Ibrahim Isaac called upon all Catholic churches to
pray in fast for peace in Syria, affirming that humanity needs to see signs
and hear words of peace.

Participants in Manila and Buenos Aires called for peace in Syria, where
they carried flowers and lit candles, expressing their rejection of war and
aggression.

They expressed their solidarity with the Pope in his call for peace. In
the USA, antiwar protesters and members of the Syrian community organized a
march in the city of Pittsburgh in the State of Pennsylvania, stressing the
American people’s rejection of their government’s intention of aggression
on Syria.

Francis call for a day of prayer and fasting foe peace in Syria. Imam of
Paris Grant Mosque, Mohammad Awad said “all religions call for peace in
Syria.”

French President Francois Hollande warning him against the repercussions of
the military intervention in Syria.

The Federation stressed that this intervention will not solve the crisis
but will increase the risk of the political and religious extremist
movement. Pope Francis, called for a day of prayer and fasting for peace in
Syria on Saturday.

Last week, Pope Francis urged both Catholics and non-Catholics and those
who are affiliated to other religions and all men of goodwill to join a day
of fasting and prayer for peace.

prevails .. we want to be men and women of peace ,” the Pope said, adding
“Never again war, Never again war.”

Armenian community members in Argentina protest against Istanbul 2020 bid

BUENOS AIRES – Reuters

Members of the Armenian community in Argentina protested over the
presence of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan at the
International Olympic Committee (IOC) session for the presentation of
Istanbul as a candidate to host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

Demonstrators gathered outside the meeting venue in Buenos Aires Sept.
7, holding banners that read “No to Istanbul 2020.”

The group also held the pictures of slain Turkish journalist of
Armenian origin Hrant Dink. The renowned chief editor of Agos was shot
in front of his office in Istanbul on Jan. 19, 2007.

Earlier in the day, another group of Argentines organized a protest
demanding a thorough investigation into the death of four Gezi
protesters and a police officer killed during a police crackdown on
nationwide protests between May and July.

The IOC will elect the winning city from candidates Istanbul, Madrid,
and Tokyo on the afternoon of Sept. 7 at a session in the Argentine
capital.

Javakhk Diaspora head urges to abandon Brussels-promised illusions

Javakhk Diaspora head urges to abandon Brussels-promised illusions

September 7, 2013 – 15:46 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – The Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe session
is ongoing in Slovakian capital of Bratislava, with Armenia’s
political leaning towards either Russia or EU on the event agenda.

The head of the Javakhk Diaspora of Russia Aghasi Arabyan spoke at the
event, noting that Armenia’s decision will predetermine the fate of
the whole Armenian people for generations to come.

`With initialing of the Association Agreement at a Vilnius-hosted EU
Eastern Partnership summit in November as a priority issue, media
passions are running high, creating an illusion of population actually
supporting the progress. Whatever the Western-financed publications
and political experts might say, that doesn’t reflect the actual will
of people,’ he stressed.

According to Arabyan, if Armenia cannot follow both formats of the
economic integration at the same time, it would be much more
appropriate to weigh cons and pros before making loud statements about
the European illusion everyone is being forced to believe at present.

`Even now, promises of Euro 2 billion in investments are being
officered from Brussels – it being unclear who’ll be on the receiving
end. In any case, Armenian people will stay out of picture. An issue
that important should only be solved through a referendum,’ he said.

`The European Commission declared that Armenia’s income after the
signing of the agreement will soar by $146 million to amount 2.3% of
GDP, with imports and exports to grow by 15.2%, and 8% respectively.
Those figures are deceptive.

In 2012, the volume of imports to Armenia thrice exceeded that of
exports. If maintained further, this proportion will only lead to the
trade deficit balance, and therefore its deterioration.

Entering the free trade zone will remove the possibility of
independent economic ties with Moscow and Tehran. True, at present
over 2/3 of goods are imported to Armenia through Georgia, yet there’s
more statistical data to consult: by early 2013, Russia maintained
leadership in the overall investment in the economy of Armenia ($ 3.29
billion,) which is more than 40 per cent of the total annual
investment in Armenia’s economy, with France having invested three
times less.

We’re being promised Euro 2 billion, while even now we’re getting over
3 billion a year, with no one making a stir about it.

According to CBA data, $130 million in private investments has been
transferred to Armenia in April, with ongoing projects (Rosatom) where
the investment volume amount to approximately $5 billion.

The goals pursued by Europe through Eastern Partnership program are
clear enough: to Europe, cooperation with countries like Armenia is a
way to strengthen its economy after the 2008-2009 crisis. So Armenia’s
leadership has a choice: to get the money now and turn Armenia into a
satellite nation, while risking a loss of a partner upon whom not only
the country’s economy but also military and strategic safety depends,’
Arabyan concluded, urging to leave the crucial decision to the people
of Armenia.
