WASHINGTON, 20 mars 2012 (AFP) – Une commission americaine a demande

Resolutions of the UN Security Council remain unimplemented almost 20
years and this injustice continues, said Ilham Aliyev, the President
of the Republic of Azerbaijan at nationwide Novruz festivities in Baku,
APA reports.

Baku-APA. The head of the State noted that in some cases the
resolutions of the UN have been implemented at once-within hours. But
for Azerbaijan it is still on the papers for 20 years. The President
assessed it as an injustice, violation of the international law and
indifference of super states to the violation of the international law.

“We will put our effort to end this injustice with the help of the
states supporting us. International law norms should be restored. The
occupiers should be withdrawn from our historical territories –
Nagorno Karabakh and adjoining regions.

Territorial integrity of Azerbaijan recognized by the international
community should be restored. We will never let creation of the second
so called Armenian state in Azerbaijani territories. Azerbaijan should
and will restore sovereignty and territorial integrity”, said Ilham
Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.

I DO NOT WANT… – ARMENIAN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE MINISTER

March 21, 2012 | 11:39

YEREVAN. – “Dear people, do not vote ‘Like’ to that misinformation,”
Armenia’s Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan responded
in such way to media reports posted on Facebook, according to which
he does not wish to be a Government member anymore and, instead,
he wants to return to legislative activities.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Armen Ashotyan no longer
wants to be in the Government and, instead, he wishes to return to
lawmaking, that is, to become a National Assembly (NA) MP, but not
a rank-and-file deputy, Hraparak daily wrote.

“According to some information, Ashotyan wishes to assume the position
of the Chairman of the parliamentary [Standing] Committee on European
Integration. But, most likely, Ashotyan will not be satisfied with
such small post, and he could assume the position of NA Speaker.

According to well-informed sources, this is also why Ashotyan not only
was included in [the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia]
RPA Executive Body, but also became RPA Vice Chairman. The current
NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan, who is a veteran RPA, is not RPA Vice
Chairman,” Hraparak wrote.

Archeological Excavations In Areni This Year’s Priority

ARCHEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS IN ARENI THIS YEAR’S PRIORITY

ARMENPRESS
MARCH 20, 2012
YEREVAN

YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. The schedule for archeological
excavations in the territory of Armenia has not been clarified yet
and may sharply be changed connected with the construction of the
North-South highway.

Speaking to Armenpress, deputy director of Archeology and Ethnography
Institute of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences Gagik Sargsyan
said the excavations of Agarak archeological site is among the
priorities of this year and if the construction works of the road
launch this year the wide-scale archeological excavations will launch.

“It is early to speak about the timeframe of work. Of course, there
are archeological sites, like Areni, which has big significance and
excavations there will take place irrespective of other projects. The
general program though will be specified later. More probably in a
month,” Gagik Sargsyan noted and stressed that the Armenian National
Academy of Sciences has not yet summed up the work of the previous
year.

“During the coming weeks the presentation of the complete report
of the carried out work is expected, after which the successiveness
of this year”s works will be clarified,” the deputy director of the
institute said.

`Bonomo’s roots key in selection’

Hurriyet, Turkey
March 17 2012

`Bonomo’s roots key in selection’
ISTANBUL – Anatolia News Agency

Can Bonomo was selected to represent Turkey at May’s Eurovision Song
Contest in Baku due to his background, according to the General
Manager of state broadcaster TRT, which chose the singer.
Bonomo’s roots will help to eliminate some of the negative
international attitudes against Turkey and could be instrumental in
increasing the number of votes the country receives in the contest,
İbrahim Å?ahin said, according to Anatolia news agency.

Bonomo is a Turkish Jew.

Asked how much chance he thought Turkey had in the contest this year,
Å?ahin said: `We could win the contest if it were not being held in
Azerbaijan. They selected a Turkic country last year. They won’t do
that again. So I do not think we stand much of a chance. However,
because Armenia protested the contest and withdrew, those who would
vote for Armenia in Turkey will vote for Turkey this year. That might
affect an increase in our votes.’

Å?ahin also said Bonomo’s entry had a Balkan sound that could attract
votes from Balkan viewers during the competition.
