efficient army ready to repulse the enemy’s attack.

According to him, intensified ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan on
Armenian Genocide commemoration days prove Azerbaijan’s readiness to
reflect on what happened with special cynicism.

“Fortunately both Armenia’s and NKR armed forces currently guard the
peaceful population, forcing the enemy to stop fire with retaliatory
means,” Jamalyan said.

YEREVAN.- The present election campaign can be characterized as “full
of dirt and misinformation”, Heritage party member Armen Martirosyan
told journalists on Thursday.

“Surprisingly, we find it positive that misinformation is spread about
Heritage Party. It proves all the rumors are nothing but libel. It
means that other political forces consider Heritage a strong opponent
supported by majority of voters,” he said.

He stressed that despite the rumors people trust the party, as
Heritage managed to prove by words and deeds that all the speculations
are false.

Opposition Heritage Party is a liberal party founded in 2002. The
leader is the first Armenian Foreign Minister Raffi Hovannisian.

Heritage and Free Democrats Party are running for the parliament with
joint proportional list.

The proportional list of the party includes members of
extra-parliamentary opposition Free Democrats Party and civil society
representatives. Heritage has also nominated MP candidates with the
majority election system.

The parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for May 6, 2012.

PanARMENIAN.Net – “I was not active as Armenian citizen and
representative of a national minority because I was not into politics.

However, problems of Assyrian community made me accept the proposal
of Armenia’s Democratic Party to run for the National Assembly
by proportional system,” president of the Federation of Assyrian
Organizations of Armenia said on April 26.

Speaking about the election campaign, Democratic party’s nominee
Irina Gasparyan told the journalists that nobody hinders parties’
visit to provinces, but they sometimes experience problems in meeting
with the voters.

“Provincial headquarters of ruling parties follow those participating
in election meetings; school and rural administration staff are
registered in the Republican Party of Armenia despite their will,
and they are threatened with dismissal unless they secure a certain
number of votes for the party,” she stated.

There are many similar instances, all initiated by governmental
parties, Gasparyan said adding that the Democratic Party aims to
achieve constitutional changes, because Armenia is a constitutional
state and is responsible for each of its citizens.
