SAMSUNG PRESENTS GALAXY S4 SMARTPHONE IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, April 4. / ARKA /. Today Samsung has officially unveiled its
new Galaxy S4 smartphone in Armenia. The new handset is thinner and
larger than its predecessor Galaxy S3; it has a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD
display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and weighing 130 grams.

The smartphone is equipped with two cameras: a 13-megapixel one with
auto-focus and a frontal 2-megapixel one.

“Today, we are presenting our flagship Galaxy S4 device, which in
terms of design and technical capacities is simply a masterpiece.

Armenian consumers are very smart following the trend in this area, and
I hope they will like this new smartphone,” Shin Sik Choi, President
of LLC Samsung Kazakhstan and Central Asia, said at a special ceremony.

Ashot Budaghyan from the Armenian representation of Samsung, said the
new phone will go to sale in Armenia and other former Soviet republics
on May 4, but those who want to buy it may place their orders by
pre-registering at Samsung, Mobile Centre, Orange and Fine stores.

“The cost of the new smartphone is 395,000 drams”, he said.

Budaghyan said Galaxy S4 allows inputting Armenian letters and
Armenian menu. Its Dual Camera function allows taking photos and
videos by both cameras. The Sound and Shot function allows taking
pictures with a five-second voice memo. The Eraser function detects
and removes unnecessary objects, randomly caught in the frame.

AirView, Air call accept and Air Gesture functions allow to increase
or browse photos or read SMS-messages without touching the display,
as well as receive calls, just by swiping one’s finger over the screen.

Smart Scroll / Pause function allows to stop video automatically if
a person turns away from the screen and continue to play, when he/she
looks back on the display. The same effect occurs when viewing a web
page. If we change the direction of view, the page will change too.

Galaxy S4 will also please fans of online games. The Group function
will allow owners of eight devices to play the same game at the same
time or listen to the same track together.

The first winner of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 in Armenia is Mary

Should Serzh Sargsyan put his hand on the Bible on April 9 to be sworn
into a second term, that will open the way to the hell, the opposition
Heritage party’s leader said Thursday in Armenia’s third largest city.

While the crowd gathered in Vanadzor’s Artsakh Square was chanting
slogans supporting him, former presidential candidate Raffi
Hovhannisian said he doesn’t need presidency at all, adding that the
ceremony, if held, would signal Armenia’s collapse.

Sargsyan’s runner-up in the February presidential election,
Hovhannisian invited his supporters to Yerevan’s Liberty Square on
Tuesday to see the inauguration of his New Armenia. He called upon
everyone, regardless of party affiliation, to attend the event. “Our
way is open to everyone without exception,” the politician said,
addressing the crowd.

Reiterating his earlier call for national unanimity, Hovhannisian
added: “If Serzh is a king for you, Mr. Tsarukyan or Mr. Margaryan
(meaning the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan,
and the chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnakstyun
Bureau, Hrant-Margaryan -Tert.am), that’s up to you. For me, the king
is the law, the Republic of Armenia and our children’s future.”

Hovhannisian said his April 9 meeting would be the last chance to
change anything for the better in the country. “They will either
respect the people’s voice or raise their hand. Should they raise a
hand, I am sure our policemen, soldier or citizen will be there next
to us,” he added.

Today, at 09:59, Ministry of Emergency Situations received call
information that on Artsakh Avenue, next to the locomotive of “South
Caucasus Railways” CJSC, ammunition was found.

The emergency rescue team headed there. Officers of “1-02” were
immediately informed about the case.

In the inactive reservoir, in the garbage, “F1” type fragmentary
grenade was found.

The police officers took the grenade to a secure place.

“In five days we will have a new Armenia. I do not need presidency,
Serzh Sargsyan will cease to be President on April 9. I’m guilty,
you can be holy, Serzh Sargsyan, but if you put your hand on the
Constitution on April 9 and bring the oath, then you will come with

I ADVISE AZERBAIJANI ACTIVIST TO FOLLOW KARABAKH ORGANIZATIONS’ WEBSITES – ARTSAKH PRESIDENT’S SPOKESPERSON

STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President’s
Press Secretary Davit Babayan advised Bayram Safarov, the “Head of
the Executive Power of Shusha [that is, NKR’s Shushi Region],” to
personally check as to how many people actually live in NKR.

Commenting, at Armenian News-NEWS.am’ request, on Safarov’s statement
that Karabakh’s population is small, Babayan noted that he suggests
this Azerbaijani activist to get familiar with the situation by
visiting the websites of Nagorno-Karabakh organizations, including
that of NKR Public Television.

“He can follow the reports, watch the life of Artsakh’s society,
[and] the scenes about the villages. In this way, he can have a real
understanding of what he is speaking about,” Babayan said.

To note, Bayram Safarov had said as follows: “We can say no one lives
either in Kelbajar or in Shushi or in any other regions of Karabakh.”

NEWSPAPER: PROSPEROUS ARMENIA ENGAGED IN VOTER BRIBERY

On the threshold elections to the Elders’ Council of Yerevan,
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is actively engaged in voter bribery.

Former foreign minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian tops the party
list proportional representation. Haykakan Zhamanak Daily reports
that the newspaper editorial received numerous alarms of voter bribery
from residents of the Davidashen Administrative District and Nor-Nork
Administrative Districts No. 6, 7 and 9.

They say that PAP representatives visit them at home and promise
5,000 AMD “rewards” in exchange for their votes in favor of the party.

Commenting on the article, PAP Spokesperson Tigran Urikhanyan said that
he does not consider the above report reliable. Urikhanyan advised
addressing a written application to the party over the activity of
the PAP members.

To recall, six parties and a union have submitted their party
lists to run to the Elders’ Council of Yerevan: Republican Party
of Armenia, Prosperous Party of Armenia, Orinats Yerkir, Armenian
National Congress, Mission, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and “Barev Yerevan”
Union. The elections will be held on May 5. Political parties will
fight for 65 seats at the Elders’ Council.

JAZZ PIANIST TIGRAN HAMASYAN TO HOLD MASTER CLASSES IN ARMENIA, NKR

PanARMENIAN.Net – Well-known Armenian jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan
will hold master classes in Gyumri, Goris, Shushi and Yerevan.

As the pianist said in his Facebook post, “the entrance is free, but
whoever chooses to leave classes midway will have to pay AMD 40000.”

“The classes will focus on rhythm, melody and harmony lessons, as well
as feature insights into various genres of music, including national
Armenian,” the post said.

TENSION ON BORDER AND INAUGURATION ON APRIL 9

The significant mobilization of Azerbaijani troops on the border
with Armenia, according to military psychologist David Jamalyan,
is determined by their wish to cause escalation on the eve of
Serzh Sargsyan’s inauguration. He says since Serzh Sargsyan is a
pro-Armenian figure who has a more categorical view on the Karabakh
issue, Azerbaijan would like him to weaken so that people are afraid
of sending their sons to the line of contact accusing Serzh Sargsyan
of lack of security.

Last week, representatives of the ministry of defense stated several
times about growing deployment of Azerbaijani troops on the border
and warned about possible attacks. This information caused doubts in
lots of Armenian experts that on April 9, while the opposition will
be holding its inauguration, the Karabakh card will be played.

This card has been played very often in the Armenian political life.

At the tensest times for the government, the situation at the border
escalated, and opponents were immediately accused of splitting national
unity, threatening national security. There have been subversive
acts which killed dozens of innocent youths. As a result, opponents
announced they did not intend to act against national security as
no one could tell for sure whether it was an artificial tension or
Azerbaijan was preparing another provocation.

It is not known whether current tension on the border will be another
platform for national unity. We wish everything ends without victims
and destruction.

Nevertheless, certain underwater processes are happening in the
Karabakh conflict. The Minsk Group co-chairs who visited Armenia and
Artsakh last week said that they had some new ideas. Today they will
discuss them in Baku. Then they will go to Artsakh and will probably
issue a relevant statement there.

It is unlikely that these ideas contain a final settlement of the
conflict, not least because elections in Azerbaijan are due in autumn.

But some proposals for open communications and participation in common
regional projects are likely. In any case, the Azerbaijani foreign
minister hinted that Armenia join Baku, Ankara and Tbilisi project. Of
course, if “they withdraw from the occupied territories.” Here is
another bluff as Armenia will never agree to such conditions.

Interestingly, AzeriDefence.com reported that Russia and Azerbaijan
have suspended negotiations over weapon supply. It is noted that
Azerbaijan refused buying new rescue helicopters, T-90S tanks and
armored vehicles BMP T, air missiles and other. So, it is not ruled
out that Russia is also interested in boosting tension on the border
between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party Chairman, businessman Gagik
Tsarukyan and ruling Republican Party MP, likewise businessman Samvel
Aleksanyan, who were on vacation in Dubai, returned to Armenia on
March 31 with a Fly Dubai airlines plane, Zhamanak daily reports.

“[But] we found out that 25-30 passengers of the same flight had not
received their baggage [on the same day]. It turns out that the plane’s
space, which was envisioned for the baggage of close to 25 passengers,
was fully occupied by the baggage belonging to Samvel Aleksanyan and
Gagik Tsarukyan. And those people, who had not received their baggage
on March 31, received it today [Wednesday].

That is to say, Fly Dubai airlines returned the passengers’ baggage
several days later, considering the baggage of Gagik Tsarukyan and
Samvel Aleksanyan as priority,” Zhamanak writes.

NIKOL PSHINYAN: I SHALL DO MY BEST TO PROTECT YOUR VOTE

Leader of the Opposition Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian, who is
continuing his regional visits as part of a Barevolution campaign
against the results of the February presidential election, today
visited Abovyan city in Kotayk marz (province).

Addressing the meeting participants, Nikol Pashinyan, a lawmaker from
the Armenian National Congress (HAK), said he was there to protect
the vote of the people.

“I am here today to prove that I recognize the vote of the people. I
shall do my best to protect the choice of Abovyan citizens because
this campaign aims to transfer the power to people, who made their
choice in the February ballot. People’s choice is a supreme law for
me and I am bound to protect it to the end.”

Speaking about Serzh Sargsyan’s inauguration on April 9, Nikol
Pashinyan urged people not to sit before TV and indifferently watch
the ceremony, allowing ‘that man grab the Republic of Armenia for a
second time.’
