Azerbaijanis, Who Have Fought For Terrorist Organizations In Syria,

AZERBAIJANIS, WHO HAVE FOUGHT FOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS IN SYRIA, DEMAND SHARIA TRIAL IN BAKU

18:19 02/04/2015 >> LAW

An incident occurred during the trial of the Azerbaijani mercenaries
who had fought for terrorist organizations in Syria. The defendants
refused the lawyers provided by the state declaring that they did
not recognize the laws of Azerbaijan and that only Sharia court
could judge them, which, as they said, would prove their innocence,
Azerbaijani media outlet Haqqin.az reports.

The defendants refused to testify and said they would keep silent
during the whole court process. The next hearing is appointed on
April 9, the article reads.

According to the article, the trial of Tural Hasanov, Elvin Aliyev,
Farid Muradov, Namiq Mammadov, Tariel Mustafayev and Ruslan Mustafayev
is chaired by judge of Baku court of grave crimes, Anvar Seidov.

“The investigation revealed that those accused of joining the terrorist
group ISIS have participated in the battles in Syria against Bashar
Assad’s troops. Each of them faces accusations under articles 12.1, 28,
123, 214.2, 228.1 of Criminal Code of Azerbaijan,” the article reads.

Note that Azerbaijani Salafis or Wahhabis are fighting in the ranks
of various terrorist groupings that operate in Syria, Afghanistan
and Pakistan. According to the Azerbaijani news agency Vesti.az, the
total number of Azerbaijani terrorists in these countries equals 300.

Whereas according to FaktHeber Azerbaijani portal, over the past three
years only in Syria almost 200 Azerbaijani terrorists were killed.

The relationship between international terrorist groups and Azerbaijan
originated in the early 1990s. Then, the Azerbaijani army, having
failed in the aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR),
retreated with losses. Trying to save the situation, the Azerbaijani
leadership, headed by Heydar Aliyev, attracted to the war against the
Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh international terrorists and members of
radical groups from Afghanistan (groupings of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar),
Turkey (“Grey Wolves”, etc.), Chechnya (groupings Basayev and Raduyev
etc.) and some other regions.

Despite the involvement of thousands of foreign mercenaries and
terrorists in the Azerbaijani army during the war, the Azerbaijani
aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic failed, and the Baku
authorities were forced to sign an armistice with the NKR and Armenia.

However, international terrorists found ties in Azerbaijan, and used
them in the future. Recruitment was conducted among Azerbaijanis,
who then were sent to Afghanistan and the North Caucasus, where
participated in the battles against the forces of the international
coalition and Russian organizations. In recent years, the citizens of
Azerbaijan are actively involved in terrorist and extremist activities
in Russia, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.

Accord A Chypre Sur La Penalisation De La Negation Du Genocide Armen

ACCORD A CHYPRE SUR LA PENALISATION DE LA NEGATION DU GENOCIDE ARMENIEN

CHYPRE

penale a Chypre.

toute negation devrait s’appliquer automatiquement au genocide
armenien.

Yegparian: 10 Reasons Why Obama Should NOT Travel To Armenia On Apri

YEGPARIAN: 10 REASONS WHY OBAMA SHOULD NOT TRAVEL TO ARMENIA ON APRIL 24

By Garen Yegparian on April 2, 2015 in Garen Yegparian

I must give credit to fellow columnist, Harut Sassounian, for inspiring
this piece with his “10 Reasons Why Obama Should Travel to Armenia on
April 24â~@³ that appeared last week. He took a positive approach. My
disgust with the Obama Administration’s extensively anti-Armenian,
pro-Turkish, and pro-Azerbaijani policies has resulted in the cynicism,
sarcasm, and snark that mark this piece. I ask readers’ indulgence and
tolerance in this respect. Maybe reverse psychology will work on this
president who came into office inspiring such great hope, but beyond
passage of “Obamacare” has been an utter disappointment, not because
of bad policy (in most cases) but because of a lack of backbone.

Here are my 10 reasons for Air Force One to stay away from Yerevan’s
Zvartnots Airport:

1) If Obama goes and pays proper respect to Armenians, genocide
victims, and the Americans who raised millions of dollars to save the
lives of Armenian orphans, he would have to accord appropriate and
proper respect to the Orphan Rug woven by young genocide survivors
and delivered as a gift of gratitude to President Calvin Coolidge. We
wouldn’t want him flip-flopping on policy, would we? 2) By visiting
Armenia on this Centennial occasion, Obama might actually have to
resort to using the rigor of his legal training as a constitutional
scholar and use his brain to affirm what numerous other U.S. officials
and bodies have done in the past, recognize the genocide for what
it legally is. Given how much faster presidents age while in office,
we certainly wouldn’t want to stress him any more, would we?

3) Since Obama has ruined his reputation among Armenians extensively,
regaining that trust will be extremely difficult. Instead, he might end
up catching a shoe with his face while visiting Armenia, home of the
oldest known shoe. We wouldn’t want Armenia’s reputation sullied thus,
nor Obama’s by having him become like George “Dubya” Bush, would we?

4) If Obama visited Armenia to mark the Centennial and in so doing
helped put Armenia-Turkey relations on a rational, justice-based path
to the future, he would damage the huge “reconciliation” industry
that the U.S. has. We wouldn’t want him (or Armenians) to become known
as an impediment to an improved economy at this time of a still-weak
recovery, would we?

5) On such a visit, should Obama urge Turkey to lift its blockade
(which under international law is an act of war) of Armenia while
viewing the majesty of Mt. Ararat, he would further damage his
friendship with Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We know
“it’s lonely at the top” so we wouldn’t want Obama to lose what few
“friends” he has left, would we?

6) If, in light of Azerbaijan’s ever-more-frequent border attacks,
Obama stressed Washington’s strong support for a peaceful resolution
to the Karabagh conflict, he would ruin his reputation as a (subtle)
war-monger–think Syria, drones, and kill orders. We wouldn’t want
to tarnish his name in this arena, would we?

7) If Obama were to use such a visit as a counter-balance to Armenia’s
joining the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union, he would once again be
demonstrating good sense, and contradicting current, very disruptive
American encirclement/agitation policies in Russia’s “near-abroad”
(i.e., Russia’s perceived sphere of influence)–think Ukraine and
Azerbaijan. We wouldn’t want an American president to be perceived
as inconsistent, would we?

8) Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Yerevan’s invitation
to attend Genocide Centennial commemorations, so he and Obama might
meet there, since the latter is not planning on going to Moscow for
the World War II Victory Day celebrations. Of course, this absence
is meant to serve as sign of disapproval over Russia’s activities in
Ukraine. But, just by meeting with Putin, Obama would be giving in a
bit, which could be seen as an admission of error on Ukrainian policy.

We wouldn’t want an American president to be perceived as anything
but infallible, would we?

9) A visit to Yerevan on such an important occasion would be a
goodwill gesture (or sop) to the Armenian community in the U.S. But,
again this would be at odds with Obama’s fairly consistent dissing
of this very community. We wouldn’t want inconsistency in President
Obama’s domestic policies any more than in foreign policy, would we?

10) Obama would be the first U.S. president to visit the Republic
of Armenia. He is already the first African-American president. We
wouldn’t want him to be greedy and grab too many firsts, would we?

Please consider these profound “problems” that would result from Obama
accepting the invitation to properly honor the Armenian Genocide’s
victims and actually honor his pre-election pledge, and let him know
what you think.

NCTR Must Be Accountable For Its Wrong Decisions: Aravot

NCTR MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ITS WRONG DECISIONS: ARAVOT

15:50 | April 2,2015 | Social

In 2002 on this day “A1+” TV company was deprived of the opportunity
to broadcast programs on its own channel. National Commission on
Television and Radio (NCTR) decided that “A1+”, which had provided
24-hour broadcasting for a long time, in term of its technical,
financial resources and professional staff was inferior to a company,
which was famous only for its skills of broadcasting separate programs.

That for deciding the winner the standards set by law had been assessed
incorrectly and that their resources weren’t enough became obvious
after some time, when the license was passed to another person. This
channel changed owners for three times. And the representatives of the
staff of “A1+”, whose professional skills had been assessed so low,
graced any workplace, where they appeared. But the representatives
of the NCTR never, even after the judgment of the European Court of
Human Rights, confessed that they had made wrong assessments on April
2, 2002.

Autistic Children Get New Rehabilitation Center

AUTISTIC CHILDREN GET NEW REHABILITATION CENTER

17:02 * 02.04.15

World Autism Awareness Day has been observed on 2 April year since
2008.

On this occasion, the training and rehabilitation center ‘My Way’
has opened a diurnal social rehabilitation center. The building was
completely renovated with the sponsorship of the Yerevan Municipality,
Ministry of Education and Science and Armenian General Benevolent Union
(AGBU).

Participating in the opening ceremony were Yerevan Mayor Taron
Margaryan, ministers, AGBU managers, autistic children and their
parents, led by Armenia’s First Lady Rita Sargsyan.

Mrs Sargsyan noted she is happy for the children and their mothers.

According to her, the program could fail but for mothers.

“They were our muse. We have a school, but it is only half of our
project,” Mrs Sargsyan said.

Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan noted that
everyone united round the idea of creating the best conditions for
each child.

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that many people were
pessimistic about the project.

“I can assure you we will always support the center and do our best.

When we visited the construction site a year ago, the parents raised
the problem of enlarging the center. We promised to discuss the problem
with the government and received their consent,” Mr Margaryan said.

PEOPLE TURNED INTO FACTOR DISTURBING PLANET LIKE DINOSAURS: KARINE DANIELYAN

The earth planet expels the humanity, as 1600 scientists beat an alarm
signal, most of them Nobel Prize winners. “What’s the factor today,
which disturbs the operation of ecosphere… We all know it’s humans,
like dinosaurs used to be… in 1992 1600 scientists worldwide, most
of them Nobel Prize winners, stated at the Earth Planet conference
only 10-20 years are left, if we continue like this. Now this time
has passed and many scientists say such a sentence, “The earth
planet expels the humanity.”,” said Karine Danielyan, Chairman of
“For Sustainable Human Development” Association at the event dedicated
to Meteorology Day.

As a reference, she made a reference to the UN Secretary General’s
report, “I haven’t seen such a worrying report… Each passage says
it’s the first time in the human history we have faced such hazardous
phenomena and disasters,” Karine Danielyan said.

She also spoke about Sustainable development objectives for 10-15
years. “If 1 out of 8 millennium objectives was environmental,
9 out of 17 Sustainable development objectives are environmental,
or relate to environment in one way or another,” Karine Danielyan said.

UITE: Armenia To Consider Opportunities Of Exporting High-Tech Produ

UITE: ARMENIA TO CONSIDER OPPORTUNITIES OF EXPORTING HIGH-TECH PRODUCTS TO EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION COUNTRIES

YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenia will consider opportunities of
exporting high-tech products to other members of the Eurasian Economic
Union, Karen Vardanyan, executive director of the Union of Information
Technology Enterprises, said on Thursday.

He was quoted by Novosti-Armenia as saying that after Armenia joined
the Eurasian Economic Union things in the country’s IT sector showed
no signs of significant changes, since the country exported only
software and faced no customs difficulties.

Vardanyan said that Armenia’s accession to the union that removes
customs barriers will allow Armenian IT companies to shift their
focuses to high-tech and engineering products.

“Now we are trying to solve all these problems and to speed up
procedures to see opportunities for exporting high-tech products to
the Eurasian Economic Union countries,” he said.

It is very important in exporting high-tech products to settle all
customs formalities quickly, he added.

Armenia had more than 380 IT companies in early January 2014. Of
them, 159 operate with foreign capital or represent large foreign
companies here.

The country’s IT sector accounts for 20-25% growth every year. The
sector’s share in GDP is 3.8%. In accordance with the IT development
strategy, this industry’s turnover is planned to be increased to $1
billion by 2018. —-0—–
