NKR President Bako Sahakyan is preparing to run for the second term
of presidency. He declared about the decision at the meeting of the
regional administration of Martakert region.

Bako Sahakyan explained his decision by the fact that he feels
responsible to accomplish all the projects that have been launched
during the five years of his presidency.

The President attached special importance to the trust of the public,
underlining that only being vested with such confidence it will be
possible to solve issues the republic faces and carry out all the
projects directed to make Artsakh prosper.

FINANCIAL MEANS ADDRESSED TO IT SPHERE OF ARMENIA TO INCREASE

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS: The salary of specialists of the IT
sphere of Armenia is the highest: the average monthly salary is
400 thousand drams. Speaking to reporters today, director of the
Enterprises Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan said currently 6
thousand 700 people are engaged in the sphere part of them is working
in local and part in foreign companies.

Speaking about the issues of the sphere Yengibaryan singled out the
smallness of the market, limited opportunities of establishing ties
with other countries and lack of human resources. “Another serious
issue is that the programs worked out by Armenian specialists do not
have any prospect for being used in Armenia’s economy. They are being
sold as products to foreign companies.” Yengibaryan said.

Advisor to the Economy Minister Vahe Danielyan said during the coming
years the means addressed to the IT sphere by international financial
and IT companies will increase.

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute of
the National Academy of Science of the Republic of Armenia will
present to the world the vivid facts of the crime perpetrated by
Ottoman Turkey. Hayk Demoyan, Museum director told Armenpress that
this year the mobile exhibitions will kick off in Beirut, Copenhagen,
Sweden and Los Angeles. “This is the timetable for this year. We
have planned to visit dozens of cities during the coming year”
Demoyan stressed.

Museum director also noted that next year’s program will enable them
to launch the mobile-exhibition in forty cities around the world
simultaneously in different languages and titles. “It is the main
goal of the museum to put into circulation new acquired materials”
Demoyan noted.

This year already one mobile-exhibition opened in Beirut.

Museum-institute each day acquires about 3-5 materials. Museum
Director is consistent towards the auctions with the help of which
the collection enriches. “Thanks to that we had been able to
“save” extremely valuable collections” Demoyan assured.

Every day the museum collection is enriched with new materials;
whereas it impossible to present all the collection because of the
small show -room. ” This year museum building construction will
kick off which will enable us to double the exhibited samples. There
will be no empty room in the new building – there will be just new
materials, new facts ” Demoyan noted.

There are three inside and one outdoor exhibition halls in the museum
with overall 1000 square meters. Here the visitors have the
opportunity to view permanent and changing exhibitions.

SOCIOLOGIST FORECASTS SEVENTY PERCENT OF PARTICIPATION IN ARMENIA’S PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

campaigns, do not have election technologies and sometimes get
satisfied by rallies and publishing of programs. “Only RPA, PAP, Rule
of Law Party, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Party use election

independent sociological center director Aharon Adibekyan told the

Adibekyan predicts 70 % participation on May 6 Parliamentary

Los narcoticos de Afganistan que se introducen en los países de
la Organizacion del Tratado de Seguridad Colectiva (OTSC; Armenia,
Bielorrusia, Kazajstan, Kirguizistan, Rusia, Tayikistan y Uzbekistan)
alimentan el extremismo y el terrorismo y desestabilizan la region,
declaro hoy el director del Servicio Federal ruso de Control de Drogas,
Víctor Ivanov.

En el norte de Afganistan estan concentrados unos 500-600 laboratorios
que fabrican heroína del opio cultivado en el sur del país. Los
narcotraficantes que introducen intensamente esa droga en los países
de la OTSC financian el terrorismo y el extremismo y desestabilizan
la region, indico Ivanov, quien preside el Consejo Coordinador de
los jefes de los organismos antidrogas de dichos Estados.

Las protestas antigubernamentales alimentadas con drogas en cualquier
momento pueden convertirse en disturbios masivos, señalo el director
del servicio antidrogas ruso, ofreciendo ejemplos concretos de tal
desarrollo de acontecimientos en Kazajstan, en el norte de China y
en el Caucaso del Norte ruso.

La produccion de heroína aumento en 40 veces en Afganistan en los
últimos 10 años y le proporciona ingresos anuales de 4.000 millones
de dolares. Las plantaciones de adormidera ocupan 130 mil hectareas
en el país, informo.

El Consejo Coordinador de los jefes de los organismos antidrogas
de los países de la OTSC funciona desde 2003. Su mision consiste en
sincronizar los esfuerzos de los Estados miembros en la lucha contra
el narcotrafico.

COMMEMORATIVE BILLBOARDS OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TO BE DISPLAYED IN U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net – During the month of April, 2012, Peace of Art, Inc.,
will display the commemorative billboards of Armenian Genocide on
Mount Auburn and Arsenal Streets in Watertown, MA, with the message
“Mr. President, Don’t Turn your Back! Recognize the Armenian Genocide.”

According to the press release, this year, Peace of Art will display
a second message on a digital billboard in Foxboro, MA, on Route 1
near Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place, with the message “Honoring
the Memory of 1.5 million Lives. Recognize the Armenian Genocide.”

This simple message is written against an image of Der Zor, covered
with 1.5 million lights, one for each life lost. The desert witnessed
the remaining Armenians who were forced to their death march by the
Ottoman Turks, and became the last resting place for many of the
refugees. This digital billboard went up on Easter Monday, April 9,
2012, the day of Remembrance of the Dead “Merelotc”.

The message on the Watertown billboards “Mr. President, Don’t Turn
Your Back! Recognize the Armenian Genocide,” is a message to President
Obama urging him to honor his 2008 campaign promise to recognize the
Armenian Genocide. While on the campaign trail, Mr.

Obama declared that “The facts are undeniable. An official policy
that calls on diplomats to distort the historical facts is an
untenable policy… as president I will recognize the Armenian
Genocide.” However, on April 24, 2010, President Obama explicitly used
the expression Meds Yeghern, a term used by Armenians to reference the
Great Calamity, rather than ‘genocide,’ a term coined by Rafael Lemkin
in 1944, and formally adopted by the Convention on the Prevention and
Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in 1948. The President stated in
part “… The Meds Yeghern is a devastating chapter in the history
of the Armenian people, and we must keep its memory alive in honor
of those who were murdered and so that we do not repeat the grave
mistakes of the past.”

Daniel Varoujan Hejinian, president of Peace of Art, Inc., said that
“It is morally wrong for the president to turn his back on his promise
to acknowledge the mass murder of 1.5 million Armenians as genocide.”

2012 marks the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Much has
changed in the last decades. However, the denial continues, despite
overwhelming evidence of its existence in the national archives of
Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, the United States, the
Vatican and many other countries. This vast body of evidence attests
to the same facts, the same events, and the same consequences, and
all confirm the organized efforts by the Ottoman Turks to exterminate
the Armenians.

Hejinian further stated that “doubting and denying the Armenian
Genocide is to repeat the crime against humanity, and debating it is
an insult to the memory of 1.5 million Armenians who were slaughtered.”

SYUNIK GOVERNOR DETERMINED TO SET RECORD

Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan has said that he is going to set a
record among governors as he is determined to collect 80 percent of
the vote for the Republican Party, Hraparak reports.

The goal of the “record” is to stay in governor’s job, says the paper.

“I guess all Republican governors are determined to reach the record
figure,” said Khachatryan.

“Let’s be honest – we were cowards and they took the power from us.

And now we must show the world who those in power actually are,”
Hovhannisyan said.

“Today the power is in shadow, the economy is in shadow, the very
life is in shadow. If you want to live in light, join us. Let’s come
together for the sake of our bright future,” Hovhannisyan said.

Un candidat independant a l’election s’est retire de la course
parlementaire armenienne après avoir ete agresse par son principal
rival soutenu par le Parti republicain du president Serge Sarkissian
(HHK).

La famille de Meruzhan Mkhoyan a confirme lundi qu’il a retire sa
candidature dans une circonscription uninominale dans le sud de
la region d’Armavir en raison de l’agression. ” Ils nous ont dit :
“laissez-tomber ou nous blesserons vos enfants” “, a declare a RFE/RL,
se referant a des loyalistes locaux et a l’homme d’affaires Aleksan
Petrossian.

Selon sa famille, Mkhoyan a ete enleve de sa maison dans la capitale
regionale d’Armavir et conduit a un cimetière du village a proximite
d’un groupe d’hommes plus tôt vendredi. L’incident aurait degenere en
une veritable bagarre après que des amis du candidat et ses parents
sont venus a son secours. Les autorites repressives ont jusqu’ici donne
peu de details sur l’incident. Ils ont seulement affirme vendredi
après-midi que deux jeunes hommes ont ete grièvement blesses et que
l’enquete criminelle est en cours. Personne n’a ete arrete lundi
soir. Mkhoyan et son cousin, Mushegh auraient egalement ete conduits
dans un hôpital d’Armavir vendredi. Les medecins ont declare que le
candidat a l’election a subi une commotion cerebrale.

Mkhoyan, qui n’est pas connu dans le monde politique, s’est retire
de la course electorale samedi. Selon une commission electorale de
district d’Armavir, il n’ a donne aucune raison a ce retrait.

Mkhoyan etait a la maison lundi, mais a refuse de commenter l’incident,
laissant a sa femme et d’autres parents repondre aux questions des
journalistes. Ses parents ont insiste sur le fait que les loyalistes
de Petrossian l’ont attaque dans le but de le forcer a cesser de
contester le candidat du HHK a l’election du 6 mai. Les proches de
Petrossian ont toutefois nie les allegations.

La direction du HHK a Erevan a nie tout lien avec la violence
d’Armavir. Le porte-parole du HHK a declare : ” Chacun doit savoir que
pour le Parti republicain l’objectif le plus important est la conduite
d’elections libres, justes et democratiques. ” Sharmazanov a ajoute que
l’incident ne doit pas remettre en question la gravite des engagements
par les autorites armeniennes de faire des elections legislatives du
6 mai les elections les plus democratiques de l’histoire du pays.

Les dirigeants de l’opposition rejettent ces assurances.

UN JEUNE ARMENIEN ECHAPPE A UNE ATTAQUE RACISTE EN POLOGNE

Un jeune armenien est traite pour de multiples blessures après avoir
survecu a une attaque raciale d’un groupe de neo-nazi en Pologne.

L’incident a eu lieu dans la grande ville de Bialystok et les medias
locaux ont identifie la victime comme un armenien de 21 ans au prenom
d’Ogsen, qui est, vraisemblablement, un residant local.

Selon la presse des temoins oculaires affirment que deux douzaines de
nationalistes masques ont fait irruption dans une boîte de nuit locale
et sont alles specifiquement attaques l’armenien, qui a ete brutalement
battu avant d’etre a plusieurs reprises poignarde et laisse pour mort.

” Ils etaient très confiants dans leurs actions et l’impression etait
qu’ils etaient venus pour une personne particulière, peut-etre se
sont-ils venges sur lui ” a dit le manager du club, selon un journal.

Des medias locaux disent que c’est la deuxième attaque visant un jeune
armenien. En avril dernier un groupe de jeunes avec des couteaux
ont assailli Ogsen et ses amis au grand jour, lancant des insultes
racistes et faisant d’autres remarques offensantes contre l’armenien
et ses compagnons. Un clash s’en st ensuivi et Ogsen et ses amis ont
reussi a repousser les attaquants, infligeant des blessures serieuses
a l’un d’entre eux.

Après l’enquete qui a dure pendant des mois la cour a considere Ogsen
comme coupable et l’a condamne a deux ans de prison. ” Apparemment,
cette punition n’a pas semble assez sevère pour les skinheads et
ils ont decide de faire une vendetta contre lui ” ecrit un blogger
Polonais.

Selon des sources officielles, l’enquete sur l’attaque est en cours
et deux suspects ont deja ete arretes.

L’ambassade armenienne en Pologne dit qu’elle continue a suivre les
evenements et a deja envoye une plainte officielle aux procureurs de
Bialystok et a la police.

L’etat de sante actuelle de l’armenien est satisfaisante, il est a
l’hôpital et est en surveillance medicale constante
