‘OPENING OF ARMENIA-TURKEY BORDER WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT’: AHMET DAVUTOGLU

Turkey certainly wants to open its border with Armenia because it
wants full integration with its neighbors, Turkish Foreign Minister
Ahmet Davutoglu said at a keynote lecture at University of Oxford’s
St. Antony’s College, reported by Today’s Zaman.

"For sure, we want to open our border because we want full integration
with our neighbors. However, opening the Turkey-Armenia border will
not be sufficient; we want to open the Armenia-Azerbaijan border as
well so that regional stability can be maintained," Davutoglu said.

Turkish FM also touched upon other issues pertaining to Turkey’s
foreign policy, among them also relations with Israel.

Referring to the fact that Turkey cancelld war games last year because
Israel was participating in it too, Davutoglu said Turkey would not
partake in any event should there be military tension in the region.

"Yes, last year we canceled those war games, and should there any
potential military tension be noticed in the region, no such war
games will be conducted," said Davutoglu, adding Turkey cannot turn
a blind eye to what is happening in the Gaza Strip now.

Turkish Nationalist Calls On Authorities To Unleash Military Actions

TURKISH NATIONALIST CALLS ON AUTHORITIES TO UNLEASH MILITARY ACTIONS AGAINST ARMENIA

Tert.am
03.05.10

Unless Turkey unleashes military actions against Armenia, terrorist
acts by Kurdish Workers Party’s (PKK) will continue, Nationalistic
and Conservative Party leader Ahmet Reyiz Yikmaz said, referring to
recent initiatives by Turkish authorities over the Kurdish problem
and the clashes between the Turks and Kurds that have recently been
more frequent, reports Turkish beyazgazete.com.

"We have stated for several times that acts of terror will increase
after Prime Minister’s visit to Washington … You can compare
the number of the Turkish soldiers killed after the signing of the
Armenia-Turkey Protocols. You can compare the PKK’s actions just a few
days before and after the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington. PKK
is an Armenian terrorist organization. And instead of stating it the
authorities are concluding an armistice with PKK under the pretext
of the Protocols."

Obama Renegs On Another Campaign Promise

OBAMA RENEGS ON ANOTHER CAMPAIGN PROMISE

Candidate Obama and President Obama don’t have very much in common.

Obama has broken campaign promises regarding tax increases,
earmarks for pork barrel projects, forced health insurance,
government transparency, spending cuts, and hiring corporate shills
as administration heavies. He recently added yet another entry to
his long and growing list of mind-bending reversals.

On 19 January 2008, candidate Obama vowed "I will recognize the
Armenian Genocide." He went on to say "I also share with Armenian
Americans — so many of whom are descended from genocide survivors —
a principled commitment to commemorating and ending genocide. That
starts with acknowledging the tragic instances of genocide in world
history. As a U.S. senator, I have stood with the Armenian American
community in calling for Turkey’s acknowledgment of the Armenian
Genocide."

That seems pretty clear. There is no wiggle room in those statements.

Instead of wiggling, Obama simply lied. He has now refused on multiple
occasions to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.

Ken Hachikian, chairman of the Armenian National Committee of
America, condemned President Obama’s lack of honesty, "Today we
join with Armenians in the United States and around the world in
voicing our sharp disappointment with the president’s failure to
properly condemn and commemorate the Armenian Genocide. Sadly, for
the U.S. and worldwide efforts to end the cycle of genocide, he made
the wrong choice, allowing Turkey to tighten its gag-rule on American
genocide policy."

The Armenian Genocide was a deliberate and systematic destruction of
the Armenian citizens of the Ottoman Empire during and just after WWI.

It was implemented through government policies of wholesale massacres
and mass deportations, with the deportations consisting of forced
marches under conditions designed to cause the death of the deportees.

The total number of Armenian deaths is estimated to have been between
one and one and a half million individuals.

Al Pacino To Play Dr. Kevorkian In HBO Film
Posted by Staff on Apr 19th, 2010

Dr. Kevorkian, known as `Dr. Death’ will be portrayed in a new film
starring Al Pacino. The good doctor made news years ago through the
contraptions he designed to put long-suffering patients out of their
misery by allowing them to control the machines that would end their
life. Dr. Kevorkian did not profit from these actions and did it to
help people escape the terrible suffering they were going through.

In the film, Dr. Kevorkian, who recently met with Al Pacino will be
brought to life on the big screen by a quality actor. It will be an
HBO production. The title of the film is `You Don’t Know Jack’ and it
has received very good reviews by those who have screened it.

Dr. Kevorkian was better known in the 1990s and made a deal not to
engage in further euthanasia in exchange for an early release from
prison. However, he was in prison for over 8 years and was released in
2007. The HBO production will air on April 24th. and it also stars
Susan Sarandon.

It is a film that brings forth an important issue, euthanasia. HBO
continues to produce many quality shows. The doctor himself seems
satisfied with the effort.
