Arstakh Young Urges To Suspend Weapon Purchase To Azerbaijan

ARSTAKH YOUNG URGES TO SUSPEND WEAPON PURCHASE TO AZERBAIJAN

ARMENPRESS
10 September, 2012
YEREVAN

YEREVAN, SEPYEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Arstakh youth organizations have
issued statements on the heroism action of Azerbaijani assassinate on
the ethnicity basis. As Armenpress reports the message runs as follows:

“We namely Artsakh youth organization representatives express our deep
concern over the transfer of Ramil Safarov, axe murderer assassinating
innocent Armenian, Gurgen Margaryan and over his granting heroism
title. Thoroughly following up the responses by international
organizations and states over a week , high aware of Azerbaijani
authorities and society anti Armenian actions, welcoming various
countries and international organizations condemnations directed
to Hungary and Azerbaijan, we are convinced the actions namely in
the statements form are not sufficient to prevent the occurrence of
similar cases, reportedly we call the countries and organizations
denying Azerbaijani fascist stance to suspend the further cooperation
with all Azerbaijani governmental and non-governmental organizations.

We call the countries selling the weapon to Azerbaijan to suspend
the deal; everyone should realize the weapon sold to Azerbaijan is
directed against the peace in the region. The purchase of the weapon
to the country perpetrated assassination on the ethnic ground is
equal to crime itself.

We urge international organizations and countries to confirm / activate
relations with the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Artsakh public until
the NKR recognition, aimed at ensuring Artsakh people security and
other fundamental rights. The statement was signed by 13 organizations.

Boston Area Representatives Met With Hungarian Consul

BOSTON AREA REPRESENTATIVES MET WITH HUNGARIAN CONSUL

ARMENPRESS
10 September, 2012
YEREVAN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS: Representatives from Armenian
organizations met with Dr. Gabor Garai, the Hungarian consul in
Boston, to voice their outrage at the Hungarian government’s decision
to extradite Ramil Safarov, who in 2006 was convicted of axing to
death Armenian Lt. Gurgen Markaryan, to Azerbaijan last month, where
he received a hero’s welcome, reports Armenpress citing The Armenian
Weekly. The delegates expressed their consternation at the Hungarian
government’s unremorseful stance, despite being warned in advance of
the consequences of the extradition. They stressed that support for
Safarov in Azerbaijan is the crystallization of rabid anti-Armenian
sentiments there. Armenians will never be safe under Azerbaijani
control, they said, adding that in order to undo some of the damage,
Hungary must recognize Nagorno-Karabagh’s independence, or at the
very least the right of its people to self-determination. Garai
assured the delegates that he would relay their concerns to the
Hungarian government. Garai was presented with a copy of the latest
issue of the Armenian Weekly, which provides detailed coverage of the
developments surrounding Safarov’s extradition and release, as well
as Anna Turcotte’s Nowhere, a Story of Exile, which tells the story of
the author’s experiences in Baku as a child, and her escape to Armenia.

Safarov Interviewed By "Vesti Nedeli": "Once They Walked By Murmurin

SAFAROV INTERVIEWED BY “VESTI NEDELI”: “ONCE THEY WALKED BY MURMURING SOMETHING IN ARMENIAN AND SMILED AT ME. AT THAT MOMENT I DECIDED TO KILL THEM”

arminfo
Monday, September 10, 12:38

Actually, in the European Union, one can take an axe, penetrate
into NATO military dormitory, and axe a sleeping man 16 times and
decapitate him. You will be arrested, convicted, but released,
“Vesti Nedeli” writes.

Further in the item: “Murderer and triumphator, Azerbaijani officer
Ramil Safarov is back to the motherland. President Aliyev promotes
him and rewards with new flat.”

In an interview with “Vesti Nedeli” Safarov tells about the motives of
his crime during the NATO language courses in Budapest: “I was sent to
the courses. There were two Armenians with us. At the beginning of the
courses they were greeting me, saying ‘hi,’ but I did not answer. Once
they walked by murmuring something in Armenian and smiled at me. At
that moment I decided to kill them,” the Azerbaiani officer said.

Further the source reports: “The Hungarian Court sentenced Safarov
to life in jail with no pardon for 30 years. But it is one figure.

Another figure – three billion dollars – Azerbaijan allegedly plans
to invest in Hungarian bonds. This figure did not leave Budapest
indifferent. Hungarian debts are worse than the Greek ones. EU
officially recommends Greece to introduce a 6-day working week –
“black Saturday”, Hungary is in worse situation and one can imagine
the big power of the Azerbaijan oil billions for Hungary.” However,
there is no money yet, but Hungary and European courts, and the
European conscience, are sold at a fixed rate of three billions.

Russia and USA respond harshly, EU – weakly. Armenia breaks relations
with Hungary, while the Hungarian Consulate is “drowning’ in tomatoes
of picketers. President Sargsyan speaks of war.

“We do not want war, but if we are forced to, we will fight and win,”
says President of Armenia Serzh Sagrysyan.

In Azerbaijan they call all this ‘hysteria.’ Anyway, for Russia this
story is extremely unpleasant for three reasons: first, tension inside
the CIS; second, threat of war on the southern borders and human loss;
third, NATO will, as usually, try to interfere with its peacekeepers.

Here is the northern border of Iran and it is already geopolitics.

Hungary and EU have made a fine mess of it. It will not be easy to
put things right,” Vesti Nedeli reports.
