German Armenians Are Consistent Over The Recognition Of Armenian Gen

GERMAN ARMENIANS ARE CONSISTENT OVER THE RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

18:15, 16 November, 2012

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: The recognition of Armenian Genocide
by Bundestag, Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, before
2015 is not probable at the moment, therefore the situation may change
in a result of appropriate steps. As reports Armenpress, this was
noted by Jirair Kocharian lecturer of Free University of Berlin and
the member of the committee on the recognition of Armenian Genocide in
Germany, during the meeting with journalists on November 16. According
to him there is a great number of Turks living in Germany who are
presenting in different parties and whose opinion plays an important
role in Germany.

“Armenian “tsunami” in Germany may not be as intense as the Turkish
one. We demanded Bundestag to recognize that Germany was Turkish
accomplice in the commitment of the Genocide and got the respond that
both EU and Germany had a number of resolutions on Armenian Genocide
and that they considered them to be enough” Kocharian noted.

He also informed that they would continue requesting Bundestag on this
issue, taking into account that in other countries as well the goal
wasn’t reached at once.

“Turkey is double criminal, author of a Genocide series. Not only
Armenians were massacred but also Greeks, Assyrians, and today a list
of nations are “waiting for their turn”. We are trying to cooperate
with these nations to demand Turkey recognize its sin” Kocharian
highlighted. He also noted that Armenian government had little to do
on this issue; German Armenians are the ones who have the right to
demand justice from their countries government.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Everyone Has To Play As If He’s Captain

HENRIKH MKHITARYAN: EVERYONE HAS TO PLAY AS IF HE’S CAPTAIN

armradio.am
15:57 16.11.2012

Shakhtar and Armenian national team midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan
has shared his thoughts on the match of his national team and the
upcoming match with Arsenal.

Speaking about the meeting between Armenia and Lithuania, Mkhitaryan
said: “The importance of this match lied in the fact that we were
waving goodbye to our legendary captain Sargis Hovsepian, who decided
to end his playing career. Somewhere in my heart it was a pity that
we said goodbye to him. We wanted to win to make him a gift. Well,
that’s how it eventually turned out.”

“Every player should understand the importance of his role on the
field, playing as if he is captain. Actually, for me it does not
matter who will wear the armband,” Mkhitaryan said in an interview
posted on Shakhtar’s official website.

Commenting on the upcoming match against Arsenal, the midfielder said:
“Arsenal are not easy opponents. It is always difficult to play
against them. I would be happy if we won this match, regardless of
how big the victory would be. The most important thing is to take
three points and be in a good mood before the game with Nordsjælland.”

In Search Of Second Israel

IN SEARCH OF SECOND ISRAEL
Igor Muradyan

Comments – Wednesday, 14 November 2012, 13:13

It would be right to entitle this article “In Search of Another
Israel”, but hardly a “second” Israel has been established in the
Greater Middle East.

“Israel” or the model of Israel is undoubtedly a British model. But the
melting forces of the British Empire at the time were not allowed to
implement this model in accordance with the scheme of multiplicative
control region. In fact, the U.S. has not been able to take full
advantage of this model because the American public could not accept
the sacrifice of Israel in regard to the regional strategy.

Anyway, Israel has become a banal user of elementary security from
the provider of successful strategy. The U.S. cannot live with
the monstrous vacuum in the region which occurred in the result of
re-division and change of the balance of forces.

There are a lot of signs that the U.S. needs and has already launched
the plans relating to the creation of “small sites”, relying on which
it would further be possible to conduct a regional and a larger-scale
policy. However, there are also signs that the question “what is a
“small site”? what options the country should have to render it
possible to form a “small area” will become topical.

It is clear that this “network” of geopolitical points is not enough
to exercise control on the Near East. It is not necessary to have
at least one republic which is able to fulfill the role of a “small
site” but one which is suitable for the role of the “second Israel”,
at least in the region of the “Fertile Crescent”. At the same time,
such a republic as Lebanon with its model of “Venice” is not suitable
for these plans at all.

Syria is the country for which tough geopolitical fight between world
and regional force centers has been underway. Syria, a modernized
society of the postmodern era, is to become a fully independent
partner to influence the entire region, constraining the expansion
of Turkey and Iran, acting in tandem with Iraq towards the same goals
and objectives, and at the same time fending off claims by Saudi and
its satellites of the Persian Gulf.

It is possible that a strong “knot” of three or four countries,
Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, will be formed as these are the
most pro-western and secular countries with significant Christian
communities, as well as different Islamic or sub-Islamic sects. In
this construction, Syria is naturally intended to play the role of
“cornerstone”, connecting the parts of the construction. At the same
time, Syria is assigned an important transit function for Iraqi oil
transportation and not only, bypassing the vulnerable routes, that
is Turkey, the Straits of Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandeb, as well as the
Suez Canal (by the way, this is in Iran’s interests).

The scenario staged in Syria is still mysterious, it does not match
the declaratory policy of the Western community. The Syrian scenario
seems to be the copy of the “Le Havre” model. As is known, during
the Second World War, Winston Churchill launched a landing operation
in Havre to prove that it is possible to land in Normandy. Is the
political and military operation in Syria an attempt to demonstrate
that the large-scale actions in the Middle East are meaningless?

Syria has a huge experience and potential in terms of military,
foreign policy and public administration, including the policy of
coexistence of different ethnic and religious communities. Why is it
necessary to ruin the experience and that country, it is only about
its modernization.

In addition, as Egypt’s and Syria’s partners, the “Muslim Brothers”,
the West’s most loyal and adequate public political groups in the Arab
world, have been chosen. While in captivity of modern propaganda,
people sometimes forget that the “Muslim Brothers” was formed
in the early 20th century under the influence and with the direct
participation of the prominent European traditionalists. At present,
the position and policy of “Muslim Brothers” mostly remains unknown
and incomprehensible, and, most importantly, the public political
sphere is not privy to what the connections and relationships of the
“Muslim Brothers” with European and American political clubs are.

What’s interesting is that some Islamic politicians very wary of
trends for the “nationalization” of the individual branches of the
“Muslim Brothers”. “Brothers” are in power in Egypt, and what has
changed in the policies of the leading countries in the Arab world?

Along with this line, it is good to understand the essence of the
mutual claims of the West and Iran? It may happen so that the events
in Syria will answer this question.

ZHOGHOVURD: ELECTIONS NOT TO CHANGE SITUATION IN ARMENIA, SAYS POLITICIAN

tert.am
16.11.12

Elections are not a proper tool to change the existing situation in
Armenia, Smbat Ayvazyan, the commander of the home guardsman of Metsn
Tigran and a member of the Republic party’s political board has told
the paper.

Ayvazyan is said to have suspended his relations with the party and
not visited Republic’s office for six months.

“We are developing programs for the country’s general development.

What we have today or what is being proposed is not enough to resist
the challenges we are now facing or expected to face. We are studying
the emigration-related phenomena, looking for possible ways out to
prevent all that. At the same time, we are elaborating steps to help
Armenia overcome this situation as it is impossible to change anything
in the country through elections,” he was quoted as saying.

46TH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. GREGORY CHURCH
OF SAN FRANCISCO

On Sunday, November11, 2012 the parish community of St. Gregory the
Illuminator Church of San Francisco celebrated the 46th anniversary of the
consecration of the Church.
The Prelate arrived in San Francisco on Saturday evening and had a
meeting with the Pastor, Delegates, Board of Trustees, and affiliated
bodies.
The Church anniversary was observed on Sunday with Episcopal Divine
Liturgy celebrated by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, who
also delivered the sermon. Parish Pastor Archpriest Fr. Khoren Habeshian
assisted at the altar.
The Prelate began his message by first giving thanks to God for the
opportunity to collectively celebrate the 46th anniversary of St. Gregory
Church. Reflecting on the anniversary of the Church, His Eminence noted
that it is a wonderful opportunity for the community to gather under one
roof, as members of one family, to collectively celebrate and commend the
endeavors and mission of the Church, to reflect on the achievements of the
past and look to them as starting points for even greater accomplishments in
the future. Today is also an opportunity to renew our pledge of service
with renewed vigor and vision so that we may reach new heights in our
mission, stated the Prelate. Addressing the Sunday School and
Krouzian-Zekarian-Vasbouragan students in attendance, the Prelate stressed
that their religious and national education will always remain the top
priority, and that as our future religious, national, and community leaders,
we will do our best to ensure that they receive the proper values,
education, and training to lead our church and nation when the time comes.
He commended the educators for their commitment to the mental and spiritual
development and growth of our youth, and congratulated and commended the
Pastor, Board of Trustees, Delegates, Ladies Guild, Sunday School, and all
affiliated bodies and volunteers for their devoted service to our church and
community, encouraging them to continue to serve with renewed vigor and
determination, and most importantly with love, unity, and harmony, for the
splendor of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian nation.
The Prelate then turned to the day’s Scripture reading from Luke
8:49-56. In this passage, we read of a man named Jairus who reached out to
Jesus to heal his 12 year old daughter who was at the point of death. On
their way to his house, Jesus was delayed when a woman with a serious
illness approached Him for healing. Soon after, news arrived that Jairus’
daughter had died. But when Jesus heard this, He responded saying, “Do not
be afraid any longer, only believe, and she shall be made well”.
The first message, said the Prelate, is that our Lord possesses
almighty power, even over death. Death is no match for the Giver of Life.
The second message, is that faith in Christ’s love and power is the best
remedy, especially in times of trouble. Jairus’ story teaches us to have
faith even in the most difficult of situations; to go from fear to faith
even when you are feeling hopeless. Our faith should be like that of
Jairus. Our belief and faith must be in Him, knowing that He has the power
to do whatever our request is, but the decision is His. In conclusion, the
Prelate urged that faith and prayer become a way of life for each and every
one of us. “The power and importance of faith and prayer cannot be
overstated. Unceasing, incessant prayer is essential to the vitality of our
relationship with our Lord. St. Paul said to the Thessalonians to “pray
without ceasing”. Jesus called His followers to live in this prayerful
manner when He told “The Parable of the Persistent Woman” that contrasted an
unjust human judge with our righteous God. The lessons was “that men always
ought to pray and not lose heart”. Let us never forget that God is always
with us, and turn to Him for comfort and care in our time of need. In this
chaotic world, let us remember that our God is the God of compassion and is
always in our midst. He knows our needs and will provide for us”, concluded
His Eminence.
Following the service, the Prelate was led in a procession to the
courtyard where the faithful participated in the singing of the Cilician and
Armenian anthems.
The 46th anniversary luncheon followed at “Vasbouragan” Hall, during
which Sunday School students presented a cultural program of spiritual songs
and prayers. In his closing message, the Prelate highly commended Sunday
School Director Mrs. Caroline Aristakessian and teachers, and urged parents
to give special attention to the religious education of their children by
enrolling them in Sunday School and setting a good example by attending
Church services regularly themselves.
