armenews.com
jeudi 27 decembre 2012

18 fevrier.

Truth About Genocide

TRUTH ABOUT GENOCIDE

Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 | 12:00 AM

Copenhagen was the latest stop, last week, for a travelling exhibition
throughout Scandinavia on the Armenian genocide. Shortly after
its arrival, the curator of the museum that hosted the exhibition
announced that Turkey would be permitted to stage an “alternative”
exhibition entitled, “The so-called Armenian genocide.”

The Danes aren’t exactly a stupid people (they are actually the
tenth-smartest in the world), but one must question this ranking
if they actually believe that there is another side to the complete
annihilation of the Armenians. The other, more plausible, theory is
that the Danes buckled under Turkish pressure.

What has our world come to when a strong, civilized, and educated
country like Denmark caves in to the obvious self-serving lies, and
no doubt threats, of one of history’s most notorious criminal nations?

Perhaps it is too difficult to stand up to a belligerent nation,
or perhaps it is easier to not. Objectivity is one thing; denial
is another.

The curator’s actions deserve not only condemnation, which has
already been strong, but also criminal prosecution, because denial
only encourages more violence and misery. Copenhagen is a beautiful
city, but it is clear that it now has an ugly side.

AZERI PEOPLE FIRST TO SUFFER FROM BAKU’S LIES – DEPUTY FM

December 25, 2012 – 21:52 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – Territorial claims on Armenia, a country with a
3000-year history, by a state which appeared on a world map about
100 years ago, are a clear proof of the agony of the hereditary
authoritarian regime of Azerbaijan, Deputy Foreign Minister of
Armenia said.

In an interview with Interfax news agency, Shavarsh Kohcharyan
commented on Azeri President Ilham Aliyev’s statement suggesting
“Azerbaijan will stop at nothing to regain its territory.”

“An attempt to defend blatant lies poses danger to regional stability,
and Azerbaijani people as well. Lies won’t help Azeri leadership avoid
responsibility for aggression against Nagorno Karabakh Republic,”
Kocharyan said.

President: Armenia~Rs Future Depends On Joint Efforts Of Authorities

PRESIDENT: ARMENIA’S FUTURE DEPENDS ON JOINT EFFORTS OF AUTHORITIES AND MEDIA

YEREVAN, December 25. /ARKA/. The authorities and the media are allies
– they together fulfill a mission which shapes not only the present,
but also the future of Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
said at a traditional reception of journalists ahead of Christmas
and New Year holidays.

Congratulating representatives of media outlets, he thanked them for
the considerable job they have done over the entire year, especially
during the parliamentary elections.

“We continued our joint efforts to strengthen freedom of speech and
democracy in the country,” he said.

The president said no elections with such free and available
information had been ever seen in Armenia before.

“I also noticed that many journalists are able to put aside their own
positions while covering political processes, and this is a genuine
professionalism, and this is visible indeed,” he said.

Sargsyan said that joint achievements were considerable in this year’s
elections, and it is necessary to make every effort to retain them.

“We should continue moving forward,” he said adding that there are
still plenty to do, “but there are the two most important factors for
reaching our goal – public demand and the authorities’ political will.

The head of state said that the next year will be crucial for Armenian
society.

“Our achievements in covering this year’s elections should be
considered as a lowest benchmark – we should do more, I mean not
only elections,” he said. “We together are building a modern state
and society, and the role of the media is very important here. More
that that – responsibility of all those communicating with people
every day is very high. I urge them not to devaluate this word and
not to forget about our serious goals and objectives.”

Sargsyan wished media representatives health and happiness in the
next year. -0-
