AHMET DAVUTOGLU: TURKEY WILL BE NEAR AZERBAIJAN UNTIL EACH SQUARE METER OF AZERBAIJANI LANDS IS LIBERATED

Baku – APA. “As the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey and a
representative of the entire Turkish people, I say that Turkey will
continue to be near Azerbaijan in its fight until each square meter of
Azerbaijani lands is liberated”, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu
said during a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev in Baku.

The Turkish PM said international law also dictates it.

“Until international law is applied, Turkey will strive side by side
with Azerbaijan to turn the region into a place of peace. Any negative
attitude to Azerbaijan will trigger the same reactions in Turkey,
too, as in Azerbaijan”, he said.

Davutoglu said he would attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the
Southern Gas Corridor in Baku tomorrow, noting that some countries
unfortunately do not understand this collaboration.

“In this regard, Armenia will be left out of these projects for as
long as the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and Armenia’s uncompromising
position continue, whereas Armenia could also benefit from them as
other countries do if Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity is respected
and peace rebuilt in this respect”.

The PM also recalled the armed incidents occurred on the front line
in late July, asking God to have mercy on the soldiers killed during
the tensions.

“They died for honored Azerbaijan and I wish the wounded a speedy
recovery from Allah. I myself went to the hospital in Turkey to
visit the wounded servicemen therein. I would like to say here that
the smallest wound in the heart of Azerbaijan is considered a wound
inflicted on Turkey”, he said.

ANKARA: PM: Armenia To Remain Out Of Projects If It Maintains Hard-L

PM: ARMENIA TO REMAIN OUT OF PROJECTS IF IT MAINTAINS HARD-LINE STANCE

Today’s Zaman, Turkey
Sept 19 2014

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Friday that as long as Armenia
maintains its hard-line position and does not attempt to solve the
Nagorno-Karabakh problem, it will remain out of regional projects.

In his remarks during a joint press conference after a one-hour-long
bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Davutoglu
said if Armenia shows respect to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity
and peace is established between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Yerevan will
benefit from regional cooperation projects.

“As long as the Karabakh problem [exists] and Armenia’s hard-line
stance continues, it will remain outside of all of the projects. …

Turkey will stand by Azerbaijan’s struggle until every centimeter of
Azerbaijani territories is disengaged [from by Armenia]. International
law agrees with this. Until international law is fulfilled as required,
Turkey will make efforts standing shoulder to shoulder with Azerbaijan
to turn the region into a peaceful one,” he said, adding that any
negative stance towards Azerbaijan from Armenia will receive a harsh
reaction from Turkey.

Nagorno-Karabakh — an Azerbaijani territory predominantly populated
by ethnic Armenians — was the subject of a bitter conflict in the
early 1990s when Armenian armed forces occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and
seven Azerbaijani-populated adjacent provinces. Although a cease-fire
was agreed, there has been no lasting peace agreement and diplomatic
efforts to find a lasting solution to the conflict under the auspices
of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk
Group have so far failed. Armenia controls 20 percent of Azerbaijani
territory despite four UN resolutions demanding the withdrawal of
Armenian forces.

After the start of the conflict, Turkey closed its border with
Armenia in 1993 in solidarity with Azerbaijan. The issue of Armenia’s
withdrawal from the area surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh is of importance
to Ankara, which has frequently signaled that this step would ease
the way towards reopening its border with Armenia.

Davutoglu arrived in Baku on Thursday evening. He had a tête-a-tête
with Aliyev and afterwards the two gave a joint press conference and
an inter-delegation meeting took place between Turkish and Azerbaijani
officials. Davutoglu paid his first visit abroad as prime minister
to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) before visiting
Azerbaijan. Erdogan also paid his first visits abroad to the KKTC and
Azerbaijan, following his inauguration on Aug. 28. Energy Minister
Taner Yıldız and Education Minister Nabi Avcı also accompanied
Davutoglu during his visit to Baku. Cooperation in the defense
industry is believed to be one of the priorities on the meeting’s
agenda in Baku.

Davutoglu also mentioned the regional projects between Turkey and
Azerbaijan, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, the
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum natural gas pipeline and the trans-Anatolian
natural gas pipeline project (TANAP), saying these projects are not
only good for the two countries but will contribute to peace in the
Caucasus, the Balkans, Europe and Asia.

During the press conference, Davutoglu also said that the
groundbreaking ceremony for TANAP will be held on March 17, on the
anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale.

The prime minister also promised to support Azerbaijan in the
international arena. He said Turkey will continue to support
Azerbaijan’s regional and international initiatives.

Azerbaijan Is Arming Up Amid Territorial Dispute With Armenia

AZERBAIJAN IS ARMING UP AMID TERRITORIAL DISPUTE WITH ARMENIA

Azerbaijan is hosting the first ever Azerbaijan International Defence
Industry Exhibition (ADEX), showcasing various arms producers,
armaments, and new arms deals. Indeed, this week has been a big one,
not just for the exhibitors but for the Armenian military as well.

On Monday, Azerbaijani military sources told defense industry
journalists that the Azerbaijani armed forces have just taken delivery
of a second battalion of Buk-MB medium Surface-to-Air Missile systems,
modernized in Belarus. The Buk family of systems is best known for
their role in the July shoot down of Malaysian Airlines passenger
flight MH17 over contested territory in Ukraine.

Further, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has reportedly been
expressing an interest in two new Russian systems. The Russian Kamov
Ka-52 Alligator ‘Hokum-B’ is an advanced scout-attack helicopter in
use in Iraq. The other system that attracted interest was the BMPT-72
‘Terminator 2’ Fire Support Combat Vehicle, is built on the chassis of
the venerable T-72 tank, but replaces the tank turret with a weapons
station. The BMPT-72 has two 30-mm cannon and four anti-tank missiles.

The main feature of the system is that it has a much wider range of
motion than a traditional tank turret, which is a key feature for
tanks involved in urban combat.

Azerbaijan is currently locked in a long-running territorial dispute
with neighboring Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave. The
Azerbaijani security environment is further complicated by the many
competing and overlapping claims in Caspian Sea, which it borders
along with four other nations, including Iran and Russia.

Armenian FM: Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union and Eurasian

by Tatevik Shahunyan

ARMINFO
Saturday, September 20, 16:10

Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic
Union comes from its economic and strategic interests, Armenia’s
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said at the 5th Armenia-Diaspora
Forum on Saturday.

He said that the Supreme Eurasian Council has already approved the
agreement for Armenia’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union. “So, we
will do it shortly,” Nalbandyan said.

On the other hand, Armenia is actively working to develop its
cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.

“We are consistently deepening our involvement in international
process and the work of international organizations and are seeking to
improve our image in the world,” Nalbandyan said.

He said that Armenia is actively deepening its strategic partnership
with Russia, friendly relations with the United States and good-
neighbor ties with Georgia and Iran.

“The world community supports our commitment to establish relations
with Turkey without preconditions,” the Armenian FM said.

He noted that the top priority of Armenia’s diplomacy is to develop
its economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and to protect the
interests of Armenians worldwide.

l’Europe.

SERZH SARGSYAN: THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE TO RECOGNITION AND CONDEMNATION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

by Tatevik Shahunyan

ARMINFO
Friday, September 19, 11:22

In a few months Armenian people will mark the 100th mourning
anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the crime against humanity,
which unfortunately has not been properly condemned so far, Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan said during his visit to Vatican, the
President’s press service reports.

In the meantime, Serzh Sargsyan stressed that the Genocide will sooner
or later be unambiguously assessed. “There is no alternative to that.

The truth is that there can be no peace or safe future without
condemnation of the crimes committed in the past. We should use our
faith to achieve dialogue and tolerance in all corners of the world. I
hope the religious solidarity and tolerance will become prevailing
and faith, hope and charity will help us to protect our values and
justice”, he said.

La FRA Ne Manifestera Pas Contre Le Gouvernement

LA FRA NE MANIFESTERA PAS CONTRE LE GOUVERNEMENT

Opposition

constitutionnels”, a declare Naira Zohrabian (BHK).
