YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS: Kim Kardashian may not have been able
to attend this year’s genocide commemoration events in Glendale,
but organizers hope her 43-second video clip will be the gift that
keeps on giving, reports Armenpress citing Glendale News-Press.

In the video uploaded to YouTube Wednesday, Kardashian – who recently
made headlines after she said she wanted to run for mayor of Glendale –
asks the public to join in commemorating “the loss of those innocent
lives of millions of people worldwide.”

Sitting on a couch with her hair pulled back into a ponytail,
Kardashian also refers to the Armenian genocide of 1915, in which
roughly 1.5 million Armenians were killed at the hands of Ottoman
Turks, as “the modern genocide.”

Kardashian does not specifically refer to Glendale, but city officials
said it was sent in for the official genocide commemoration at the
Alex Theatre last week. It was never aired, however, due to technical
difficulties.

a plusieurs reprises Serge Sarkissian.

YEREVAN. – Armenia has got many friends and together we want to
contribute to fair and just parliamentary elections in Armenia,
US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told reporters.

“We are trying to be optimists and to see the bright side,” the
American envoy said commenting on the question what violations have
been observed during the pre-election campaign.

According to him, it is very important to train the members of the
election commission but the most important is the political will of
law enforcement agencies, state structures, political parties and
the opposition to conduct fair and just elections.

The ambassador also stressed the importance of the participation of
many observers in the monitoring of the elections.

“There are many positive facts. But there are also concerning facts,”
the ambassador said.

He meant statements about unequal conditions for political parties
and the use of administrative resources.

Eight political parties and one block have presented their nominations
– Republican Party of Armenian, Prosperous Armenia Party, Orinats
Yerkir, opposition Armenian National Congress, opposition Heritage
Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, the Communist Party of Armenia, Democratic
Party of Armenia and United Armenians Party.

For entering the National Assembly, parties must poll over 5% of votes,
while blocks – over 7%.

The election campaign will be held till May 5 – the day prior to
elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections
will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.

for the sake of one goal – achievement of freedom and justice. And
this goal has not changed today”, he said.

He added that the members of ARFD have already visited almost all the
regions of the republic and, despite the fear in the people’s eyes,
they managed to cause interest in their election program. “We have been
asked numerous questions about our program, and we understood that our
program is not ideal and needs amendments. We have introduced these
amendments and additions and will continue doing this within the next 5
years in case we gain seats in the parliament of the 5th convocation”,
