BOOK SERIES ARE BEING PREPARED, WHICH WILL PRESENT ARTSAKH AND 70 PROVINCES OF WESTERN ARMENIA

The work of the foundation that studies Armenian architecture has
become active: this year the 15th volume of the book studying the
Armenian architecture was published. Monument expert Samvel Karapetyan
noted during his meeting with journalists on August 30 that the new
issue of Vardzk journal was also published. Vardzk means duty for
the memory of one’s ancestors.

“By the assistance of the Ministries of Culture and Diaspora the
foundation has published a book devoted to Ani. The book includes
numerous photos, short stories about each monument. We have signed
agreements with the ministries, which refer to the documentation of
Armenian monuments located outside Armenia’s borders,” Armenpress
cites Karapetyan as saying.

Speaking about the importance of Vardzk journal, the monument expert
stated the information size was not enough for a book, therefore it
was decided to publish a journal.

“Each issue includes such a material that was never touched upon.

There are materials which are axial, for example, the photos taken
of Agulis from the space at the beginning of the year, which are
juxtaposed with the map made during the Soviet years,” Karapetyan said.

Among the works carried out he also mentioned the map published on
the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Armenian printing. The
map includes the names of all those printing houses which were formed
during the years of the formulation of printing.

“We will also publish a 37-volume book series, which will include
information on 70 provinces of Western Armenia. We will also have
a book series presenting Artsakh’s historical and cultural values,
which will outline Artsakh’s map,” Karapetyan said.

Shirak governor Ashot Giziryan, dwelling on the incident involving
Spartak Ghukasyan, the son of Gyumri Mayor Ghukasyan, said offenders
will be punished, no matter whose son he is.

As we know, Vardan Ghukasyan’s “odious” son is wanted because of
a shooting incident in Gyumri. It is hard to say whether Vardan
Ghukasyan’s son will be “found”. Most probably, everything depends
on Ghukasyan’s relations with the government.

Fathers in Armenia count much in cases relating to their sons’
responsibility. Even if Ashot Giziryan says there is no difference
whose son commits a crime, it is hard to believe he would say the
same about his own son. More, it is hard to believe that he thinks
so even about Ghukasyan’s son.

In this sense, the thinking of the Armenian government representatives
is very far from Christianity though from time to time they attend
religious events. But what are we talking about in Armenia when most
clergymen are far from the Christian thinking.

So, according to the government of Armenia, sons do not pay for the
sins of their fathers but the fathers are the guarantors of their
sons’ deeds.

Certainly, there can be some exceptions, and Giziryan may be one of
them. Who knows? But no doubt, many will say relating to Ghukasyan’s
son that it does not matter who his father is. They will say it hoping
that their relations with the authorities will never get worse to
such extent that their support to their sons will not be helpful.

Fathers’ sponsorship in Armenia has always been helpful and there
is no son who has ever been held responsible for a crime. Vartan
Oskanian’s son who drove over a person in the ministerial car or the
son of the “first brother of the country” Sashik Sargsyan with his
numerous adventures.

Though, apparently, the important thing is the fathers’
responsibility. If the fathers account for their actions, there will
be no need to speak about their sons’ crimes.

ARMENIA’S CAPITAL TO HOST 41ST SYMPOSIUM OF INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MUSEUMS

The Museum of Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran in Yerevan, Armenia,
will host the 41st symposium of the International Committee for
Education and Cultural Action, International Council of Museums.

The symposium is to take place on October 20 to 25, as part of the
UNESCO World Book Capital City 2012 in Yerevan.

Experts of the world’s leading museums will hold master classes for
Armenian experts.

The symposium program envisages discussions, practical training,
and excursions to Armenia’s museums and places of historical and
cultural interest.

ARMENIA POSTPONES CSTO EXERCISE TO MID-SEPTEMBER

YEREVAN. – The joint military exercises of Collective Rapid Reaction
Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be
held from September 15 to 19 in Armenia, CSTO spokesperson Vladimir
Zaynetdinov told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

He stated that the previously declared date is changed by to the
request of the Armenian side due to technical reasons.

The CSTO exercises will be conducted in Armenia in accordance with
the Plan of joint activities of operational and combat training of
government and groups of forces of the Collective Security Treaty
Organization.

The theme of the exercise is the “Usage of force and assets of CSTO
in the Caucasus region of collective security with the participation
of Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.”

ARMENIAN TAILOR LAUNCHES PEACE MOVEMENT IN TURKEY

ISTANBUL. – Fifty-two-year-old Istanbul-Armenian tailor Filor Uluk
Benli launched a white-muslin-fabric movement for the establishment
of peace in Turkey and the entire world.

The tailor’s movement is called “You, too, tie muslin for peace!”,
CNN Turk news agency of Turkey informs. The Armenian woman noted that
they already have ten representations in Turkey, and 32 countries
have sent their messages of peace on white muslins.

Noting that white symbolizes purity and peace, Filor Uluk Benli
said the establishment of peace in Syria and an end to the terrorist
activities in Turkey are the primary wishes expressed on the close
to 8,000 muslins which they have received.

Armenians residing in the south of Russia face the issue of
preservation of the Armenian national identity, like anywhere in the
world, President of the Russian-Armenian Cooperation NGO of Krasnodar,
real member of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems Varvara Margaryan
told reporters in Yerevan today.

She noted that the problem of assimilation is very serious in
Krasnodar region, as many Armenians have even changed the “yan”
ending of their surnames.

Mrs. Margaryan noted that the solution of problems depends on Armenians
themselves rather than the authorities. She added, however, that
Armenians do not face major problems in Krasnodar.

According to her, the authorities are sympathetic towards Armenians.

Children can even learn Armenian at secondary schools, if 15 signatures
of parents are collected.

According to official data, about 250 thousand Armenians reside in
Krasnodar region, while in reality the number of Armenians might be
three or fur times more.

There are a number of businessmen and officials in Krasnodar. There
are also well-known Armenian doctors and teachers.

“Armenians of Krasnodar do not engage in politics, they agree with the
decisions of the authorities,” she stressed. She recalled, however,
that in 2011 the Russian-Armenian Cooperation NGO sent a note to
the Turkish authorities, urging them to face the history and accept
the fact of the Armenian Genocide. The document was signed also by
representatives of other nations – Lesgis, Kurds, Tatars, Ossetians,
Abkhazians. This gives additional value to the document, Mrs.
Margaryan is assured.

OBAMA’S AMERICA IS NARROWING

Now everyone, of course, understands that Omaba’s re-election is the
result of the situation which occurred as the product of the world
economic development. Apparently, the U.S., following Britain, heavily
swayed to the left – as a result of transformation of the middle class,
the prevalence of liberal and left-wing ideas in the country.

But still, this was not the most important condition for the election
of a left-liberal president with big personal problems.

According to media reports, an attack against Obama was planned. Sure,
this information needs to be clarified. Most likely, this fact became
the reflection of serious concerns and fears of the American society
regarding the Obama- Hillary Clinton policy who have brought the
American policy to collapse and absurd. The so-called non-conservators
so much discredited the idea of “republicanism” that much time will
be necessary to wash off the unpleasant labels from the Republican
Party of the U.S.

But now, it is not time to hold ideological quarrels. Some ethnic
communities of the U.S. need the foreign policy to become more active
and expansive, instead of dealing with buildup in situations which the
administration is unable to understand and to work out action plans.

Now, it is necessary, perhaps for the first time, to consolidate
the ethnic communities of the U.S. in the fight against the current
administration.

Obama’s second term would be a catastrophe for the U.S. and the whole
world. At the same time, the chaos in the large regions of the Western
Europe and Eurasia would increase and the U.S. would be driven out of
the world political processes. Perhaps, all this seems cynical, taking
into account the Republican candidate for president, but any candidate
is better than Obama, whose intentions are not clear up to the end.

The Armenian community and its organizations should be limited to
passive forms of propaganda; it is necessary to agree with the
“partners” and interested circles, first of all organizations
representing Western-European and religious communities, which may
be united by Christian morals and values.

There may be different arguments by the ossified leaders and authors,
which in any case would look pretty stupid. Now it is important that
the president, who has shown himself as the personification of lies and
hypocrisy, was not re-elected. The Armenian community, in this case,
has in its hands overwhelming evidence and the necessary levers for
such propaganda.

Apparently, many in the U.S. understand this task with which
the Armenian organizations have not yet dealt. The Americans,
of course, will support the realization of this task, since they
need to understand that if the absurd policy of Obama and Clinton
continues and they stay in power, very sad events may happen in the
U.S. related to the activation of radical circles.

Perhaps, it would be appropriate to create an ANTI-OBAMA committee in
Armenia which would aim at helping the American patriots to achieve
their goal.

HRAPARAK: SYSTEMIC CHANGES EXPECTED IN ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY

The position of Armenia’s Military Commissioner has been vacant
since Military Commissioner Sergey Chalyan’s dismissal, Hraparak
daily reports.

“Discussions are underway over a new model of government in the Defense
Ministry. With nothing concrete decided yet, it is possible that the
position of Military Commissioner will be liquidated, to transfer
the Commissioner’s duties to the General Staff of RA Armed Forces,”
the paper says.

Commenting on the news, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun
Hovhannisyan said, “We seriously discuss the issue and we cannot rule
out major changes to the system.”

YEREVAN TO HOST FREEMASONRY CONFERENCE IN FALL – NEWSPAPER

YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily clarified from Grand Master Armen Karapetyan
of the Grand Lodge of Armenia that the freemasons’ annual conference
in Armenia will be convened in fall, but the date and place are not
yet determined.

“To note, the Armenian freemasons’ conference was held in [the capital
city] Yerevan in July 2011, and Grand Orient De France lodge’s Grand
Master Guy Arsize, who arrived in Armenia along the lines of the
conference, conditioned his visit on having very good Armenian friends
in the diaspora. According to him, Armenia is an important spiritual
land in a complicated geopolitical state, and it needs assistance.

Last year’s conference topics were human and women’s rights, [and]
human dignity. They want to bring to Armenia the fundamental values
of their ideology on democracy, human rights, [and] equality. Arsize
had also informed that the [French] lodge had 10-20 Armenian members.

‘I’m here to eradicate those mystic notions in you, to show that I’m
not a devil,’ Guy Arsize had said,” Zhamanak writes.

recent inclusion of the alleged Armenian genocide in French history
school books.

has apparently no knowledge on the recent inclusion of the alleged
Armenian genocide in French history school books.

The French president Hollande, the successor of Nicolas Sarkozy, who
wanted to draft a bill which would penalyze the denial of the alleged
Armenian Genocide in France in order to get the votes from the French
Armenian minority but failed miserably at the presidential elections,
apparently did not give any instruction for the new regulation
regarding the French textbooks.

Francois Hollande reportedly told his lack of knowledge to Turkish
daily Hurriyet during the 20th Annual Ambassador’s Conference in Paris.

‘I do not know about this work. It’s absolutely out of my knowledge,’
Francois Hollande stated. ‘ Changes in the books are prepared by
educationary commissions … The desicion does not come from me,
but I will ask and learn where it comes from. Then I will inform you.’

The study on the alleged Armenian genocide, fabricated out of 1915
event during the World War, had been conducted by the French Education
Ministry for several years, but diplomacy has never been involved
in the issue, French Ambassador to Turkey Laurent Bili explained,
also adding that it did not come as a surprise.
