Farmer Claims Gazprom Armenia Won Case With Fabricated Document: Tak

FARMER CLAIMS GAZPROM ARMENIA WON CASE WITH FABRICATED DOCUMENT: TAKES CASE TO ECTHR

02.11.2015 12:13 epress.am

The European Court of Human Rights has accepted a suit against
the Gazprom Armenia corporation by Armavir province resident,
agriculturist Samvel Harutyunyan. Simultaneously, Harutyunyan also
applied to the Armenian courts; he claims in his suit that the company
used an official fabrication, which resulted in the Court of Appeals
handing a verdict in their favor.

The Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of Arabkir and
Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts handed down a verdict in favor
of Harutyunyan, considering his claim to be legal in which Gazprom
Armenia had illegally suspended his gas supply, which resulted in
his harvest to freeze in the greenhouse, costing him 4,400,000 AMD
($9,000+/-) worth of damages.

“I won the case in the Court of First Instance. Gazprom Armenia
appealed to the Court of Appeals, presenting a fabricated contract
between us based on a false copy. The Court of Appeals considered
their complaint sufficient. I presented to the Court of Cassation the
conclusion of the Expert Center of Ministry of Justice, which proves
that the document was fabricated. The Court of Cassation didn’t even
accept my suit, while the ECtHR has,” said Samvel Harutyunyan when
speaking to Epress.am.

The farmer also applied to the police, in order to initiate a criminal
case against Gazprom Armenia for fabricating a document. “Instead
of receiving a response in 10 days, it was delayed for 11 months,
later the prosecutor suspended the case. The prosecutor didn’t even
provide the reasons behind the decision. I applied to the Court of
First Instance. 5 hearings have already been held, at least I get
the reasoning behind the prosecutor’s decision through the court,
so I can continue my case,” said Samvel Harutyunyan.

Felix Sturm Wants To Fight Against Arthur Abraham For IBF Title

FELIX STURM WANTS TO FIGHT AGAINST ARTHUR ABRAHAM FOR IBF TITLE

12:58, 10 Feb 2015
Siranush Ghazanchyan

Former IBF/WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm has reportedly turned
down a clash with #1 IBF Hassan N’Dam for the vacant IBF middleweight
title, according to Fightnews. Instead of Sturm fighting N’Dam for
Jermain Taylor’s former IBF title, Sturm will be moving up in weight
to the 168 pound division to try and get an all-German fight against
WBO 168 pound champion Arthur Abraham, boxingnews24.com reports.

Abraham will first have a rematch against Paul Smith on February 21
in Berlin.

That fight makes sense because Abraham has already had three fights in
a short period of time against popular German fighter Robert Stieglitz,
and if he can get a fight against Sturm, then Abraham can be another
German fighter to face.

“I will not fight at middleweight !!! That time is over,” Sturm said
on his twitter.

Turkish Premier Says Turkey Won’t "Succumb" To Jewish, Armenian Lobb

PREMIER SAYS TURKEY WON’T “SUCCUMB” TO JEWISH, ARMENIAN LOBBIES

Deutsche Presse-Agentur, Germany
February 9, 2015 Monday 8:29 AM EST

Istanbul

DPA POLITICS Turkey politics Premier says Turkey won’t “succumb” to
Jewish, Armenian lobbies Istanbul Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said
Turkey will not “succumb” to pressure from special interest groups,
including the Jewish and Armenian lobbies, the state-run Anadolu news
agency reported.

“We will not succumb to the Jewish lobby, the Armenian lobby or the
Greek lobby,” Davutoglu said on Sunday night.

Davutoglu appeared to be responding to a sharply critical opinion
piece published in The New York Times last week by Fethullah Gulen,
a US-based Turkish Muslim cleric who has been locked in a feud with
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his former ally.

Gulen’s article lamented what he saw as the rolling back of democratic
reforms in Turkey and said the current government was “leading the
country toward totalitarianism.”

The government charges that Gulen is running a “parallel state,”
and Davutoglu said he would not bow to his rival’s lobby either.

The authorities have carried out sweeping detentions against supporters
of Gulen, including police officers and journalists. Many have since
been released.

Turkey heads to parliamentary elections in June.

In April, Armenians will mark the centenary of the 1915 massacres in
Turkey which many deem a genocide.

CENTENNIAL OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IS OBSERVED
WITH
CTG AND ARMENIAN DRAMATIC ARTISTS ALLIANCE’S SPECIAL READING
`STAGING THE UNSTAGEABLE: THE ESTHETICS OF DRAMATIZING ATROCITY’

TUESDAY, APRIL 28 AT 8 P.M.

In observance of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Center
Theatre Group, in partnership with the Armenian Dramatic Artists
Alliance (ADAA), will present `Staging the Unstageable: The Esthetics
of Dramatizing Atrocity’ at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, Tuesday, April
28 at 8 p.m.
`Staging the Unstageable’ is a reading of excerpts from plays that
dramatize in different ways the Armenian Genocide, which was the
systematic extermination (beginning in April 1915) by the Ottoman
Empire of its minority Armenian subjects.
The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with
notable guests from the Armenian community and with Los Angeles
theatre artists who have grappled with the responsibilities of
bringing historical tragedies to the stage. Key to the discussion are
the questions – does theatre have a role in ensuring that communities
around the world never forget historical sins, and how can a
theatre-maker bring such trauma to the stage?

ZHOGHOVURD: ARMSWISSBANK AND ARTSAKHBANK TO DECLARE MERGER

10:53 10/02/2015 >> DAILY PRESS

Armswissbank and Artsakhbank will declare a merger soon, Zhoghovurd writes.

Speaking to the newspaper, a representative of Artsakhbank denied the
report. The newspaper has learnt, however, that 43.1% of Artsakhbank’s
shares and 80% of Armswissbank’s shares belong to the same person,
Vartan Sirmakes.

“It is known that it is shareholders that make a decision on banks’
merger. And the presence of the same shareholder in two banks
facilitates this process to a great extent,” the newspaper notes.
