May 11, 2013 | 16:37

YEREVAN. – An incident occurred during a conference between the
members of the Commission of Wise Men and the local media
representatives of Manisa, Turkey.

During the talk between the local media representatives and the
members of the Commission of Wise Men – which the Turkish authorities
have set up to resolve the country’s Kurdish issue – , Mevlut Cirakoglu,
the owner of Manisa Gunebakis newspaper, attempted to hang a Turkish
in the conference hall, Milliyet daily of Turkey informs.

At that point, Commission of Wise Men member, renowned Turkish
historian and publicist, Baskin Oran reacted by claiming that
Cirakoglu was carrying out a provocation.

The police removed Mevlut Cirakoglu from the hall, but, outside, he
shouted in anger that there was no Turkish flag in the conference
hall, and therefore he wanted to hang one.

Houston Independent School District (HISD): Repeal Prejudiced
anti-Discrimination Program

Petition by

HISD Anti-Discrimination Project

School districts are endorsing a program in schools that protects some
discrimination while calling on children to fight others. We need
schools districts to stand against all discrimination and remove
biased and hypocritical programs.

To:
Houston Independent School District (HISD)
We the undersigned express our concern regarding a program designed by
the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and endorsed by, and widely
distributed in, Houston Independent School District (HISD) schools.
While we support the ADL’s described objectives `to secure justice and
fair treatment to all,’ fight against bigotry, and teach against
discrimination, we do not believe the ADL is an appropriate sponsor of
such a training for multiple reasons:

1. In the `No Place for Hate’ resource guide[1], the ADL defines
`Anti-Semitism’ as discrimination that targets `the Jewish state of
Israel.’ Criticism of Israel, like criticism of the U.S. or any other
country, should not be compounded with racism or prejudice. It is
essential that students not be taught negative associations with
criticizing government policies.

2. The ADL has worked against groups critical of Israel on campuses,
and inappropriately associated such legitimate forms of protest with
`Anti-Semitic.” [2,3]

3. Israel has been condemned by the UN Committee on the Elimination of
Racial Discrimination for major violations[4]. Simultaneously teaching
that children should `Work collectively with others to organize and
support efforts to combat prejudice and discrimination in all its
forms,’ and stifling criticism of racial discrimination in Israel
sends a contradictory message.

There are other groups that offer anti-racism programs[5,6] that are
preferable because they are not promoting any government / military
agenda, nor discouraging dissent.

We therefore call on HISD to repeal its endorsement and allowance of
the `No Place for Hate’ program in HISD schools.

Respectfully submitted,

Since when in the United States is it considered discrimination to
criticize a government and its actions. The right to do so is a
cornerstone of our democracy. This would be setting a dangerous
precedent for all of us.

Why is this important to you? (Optional)Greetings Houston:

Good news!

Over the past few years, more than a dozen Massachusetts cities have
severed ties with the ADL’s alleged anti-bias program known as No
Place for Hate. The Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) – which
represents every city and town in the state – did the same.

Why? Because they discovered that the ADL was colluding with Turkey –
a major human rights violator – to deny the Armenian Genocide of
1915-1923, and to defeat Armenian genocide resolutions in the U.S.
Congress. Please
visit:

The full story is at , a website created by
concerned citizens. It’s a terrific resource for you in Houston.

When cities and the MMA learned the facts about the ADL from human
rights activists and Armenian Americans, they cut their ties to No
Place for Hate. They realized that an organization such as the ADL
that denied a Christian genocide, while simultaneously asking others
to commemorate the Holocaust, was morally unfit to teach about civil
and human rights.

See here, please:

This all made national and international news – hundreds of articles.
Please visit:

The ADL has still not unambiguously acknowledged the Armenian
genocide, and it disgracefully continues to oppose recognition of the
Armenian Genocide.

I respectfully suggest that the organizers of this petition learn
about our very successful campaign against the ADL’s programs in
Massachusetts and elsewhere at You will
surely be able to use the information in Houston! I also suggest
contacting Armenian Americans in Texas as they may be interested in
joining you.

My sincere congratulations and best wishes to you.

disappearance in Turkey, according to theUNESCO Atlas of the World’s
Languages in danger. The Homshetsma (the dialect of Hamshen Armenians)
is also endangered.

According to the UNESCO list, Western Armenian is spoken among 50
thousand people in Turkey.

The number of endangered languages in Azerbaijan and Georgia reaches
11. Homshetsma is endangered in Georgia, as well.

As for Armenia, there are only two languages in danger – Assyrian and

Turkey bans Australian legislators from Gallipoli

Armenian National Committee of Australia
5/10/2013 10:34:41 AM

Sydney: The Republic of Turkey has sensationally stated that certain
Australian legislators are not welcome to take part in Anzac
celebrations in Gallipoli, as a consequence for passing a motion
recognising the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Genocides.

Both Houses of the New South Wales State Parliament (Legislative
Council and Legislative Assembly) passed motions over the last week,
affirming the reality of the 1915 Genocides which Turkey still denies.

In response, the Turkish Foreign Ministry has released a statement
stating that those who were responsible for this motion will
`doubtlessly be deprived of the hospitality and friendship’ normally
extended to Australians.

More specifically, the official statement says: `These persons who try
to damage the spirit of Çanakkale/Gallipoli will also not have their
place in the Çanakkale ceremonies where we commemorate together our
sons lying side by side in our soil.’

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia, commemorating
the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who lost their lives during
World War I after landing in Gallipoli, Turkey on April 25th 1915.
Every year, thousands of Australians make a pilgrimage to Gallipoli
for commemoration ceremonies.

The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) says that
this statement technically means that all members of both Houses of
New South Wales Parliament cannot make this pilgrimage, and will not
be treated hospitably if they visited Turkey due to this legislation,
which affirms the reality of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the
Genocides of Assyrians and Greeks.

ANC Australia Executive Director, Vache Kahramanian said: `The Turkish
Republic is once again trying to gag a democratic state because of
their desire to speak the truth.’

`Turkey has time and time again tried to interfere in the legislative
affairs of nations and legislatures who have the moral standing to
recognise the heinous crime of genocide.’

`Turkey is attempting to utilise the sacred memory of Gallipoli as a
political football. This is a deplorable action and should be
condemned by all,’ Kahramanian added.

Kahramanian noted that Turkey has had a long history of making such
threats against nations who have recognised the Armenian genocide,
including France and Canada. None of these threats, which include
ceasing trade and diplomatic relations, have ever materialised.

ANC Australia will be meeting with legislators of Australia’s largest
state of NSW in coming days, as many are deeply offended at having an
ally nation ban elected Australian officials from taking part in Anzac
celebrations in Gallipoli, Turkey.

Azerbaijani terrorist from Al-Qaeda calls for jihad and establishmen

Azerbaijani terrorist from Al-Qaeda calls for jihad and establishment
of Sharia law

18:39 09/05/2013 » REGION

Appeal on behalf of an Azerbaijani terrorist Abu Yahy al-Azeri
appeared on the YouTube. A man with a red beard is sitting in front of
two dozen of armed men under the flag of “al-Qaeda”. He speaks in
Azerbaijani language and calls for an armed struggle against Assad.

“Dear brothers and sisters! Allah Himself has commanded us to fight in
the holy land of Damascus and expel the infidels from here.
Now we have a real chance to establish Sharia law on this land and to
spread to other states from here… We’ll do what we can, with guns in
our hands. We will kill with the help of Allah. I urge my other
Azerbaijani brothers to join this holy war,” says the Azerbaijani
fighter.

In the last period the media reported about a number of deaths of
Azerbaijani terrorists in Syria. In early April, the Turkish sites
have reported that about 30 terrorists from Azerbaijan have already
been killed in Syria.

In general, the links between international terrorist groups and
Azerbaijan have started in early 1990s. By that time, the Azerbaijani
army, having failed in the aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic (NKR), retreated, suffering losses. Trying to salvage the
situation, the Azerbaijani leadership headed by Heydar Aliyev
attracted international terrorists and members of radical groupings
from Afghanistan (Gulbuddin Hekmatyar group), Turkey (“Grey Wolves”,
etc.), Chechnya (Basayev and Raduev groupings etc.)to the fight
against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Despite the involvement of thousands of foreign mercenaries and
terrorists in the Azerbaijani army during the war, the Azerbaijani
aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic failed and the Baku
authorities were forced to sign an armistice with the representatives
of the NKR and Armenia. However, the international terrorists
established the necessary ties in Azerbaijan and used them in the
future. Recruitment was conducted among Azerbaijanis, who were later
sent to Afghanistan and North Caucasus. Here they participated in the
battles against the forces of the international coalition and the
Russian structures.

In recent years, the Azerbaijani citizens are actively involved in
terrorist and extremist activities in Russia, Afghanistan and Syria.
In Azerbaijani the citizens of this republic are attracted to criminal
liability for participating in “illegal armed formations” in
Afghanistan and are sentenced to negligible terms of imprisonment.
