POLITICIAN URGES NOT TO LINK GAS PRICE TO ARMENIA-RUSSIA STRATEGIC COOPERATION

June 13, 2013 | 13:10

YEREVAN. – Armenian MP from Orinats Yerkir party Mher Shahgeldyan
called not to link gas price to Armenia-Russia strategic cooperation.

Asked whether it is better to purchase Russian or Iranian gas,
Shahgeldyan said the economists must decide.

The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia has recently
set a new price of gas supplied by Russia.

Earlier ArmRusgasprom applied to the Commission with an offer to revise
the natural gas price. The move was opposed by the Armenian society and
provoked several protest actions near the government. The protestors
said increase in gas price would affect the prices of consumer goods
and services. The opinion was supported by economists, too.

ARMENIAN SQUAD FORMER MANAGER IS LIAR – FOOTBALL FEDERATION BOSS

June 13, 2013

Lusine Shahbazyan

YEREVAN. – National team former head coach Jan Poulsen is a liar,
Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) President Ruben Hayrapetyan noted
during a press conference on Thursday.

To note, the Danish specialist recently stated that he had left the
national squad because the FFA President had interfered with his work.

“I had told him after a game as to why he was allowing a footballer to
play with an injured foot. And he had told me that the player had said
he could play. And I said if a coach needs to work on the player’s
demand, that coach is relieved of his job.

“He [i.e., Poulsen] was always a sleeping man, and he is just that.

But it is not good that he lies at that age,” Ruben Hayrapetyan
specifically noted.

L’avocat

Hayrikyan Names The Person Who Shot At Him

HAYRIKYAN NAMES THE PERSON WHO SHOT AT HIM

06:38 pm | Today | Politics

Leader of the National Self-Determination Union, ex-presidential
candidate in Armenia, Paruyr Hayrikyan, today announced in court that
the person who shot at him during the January 31 attempt was Khachatur
Poghosyan, one of the two suspects detained in connection with the
high-profile assassination attempt on the ex-presidential candidate.

Hayrikyan said that Poghosyan was lucky enough not to have killed him;
otherwise, he would live with ‘a heavy burden-the guilt of sin-upon
the conscience.’

The ex-presidential candidate again reiterated that the attempt had
been ordered by Russia. In his testimony, Hayrikyan also expressed
his surprise at the statement of one of the defendants in the case,
another presidential contender Vardan Sedrakyan who had said that
his car is more expensive than Hairikyan’s life

Baku: Spain’s Foreign Ministry Replies To Azerbaijan’s Note Of Prote

SPAIN’S FOREIGN MINISTRY REPLIES TO AZERBAIJAN’S NOTE OF PROTEST

MilAz.info, Azerbaijan
June 12 2013

It is said that Spain recognizes the principle of territorial integrity
and supports peaceful solution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict

Spain’s Foreign Ministry has replied to the note of protest sent by
Azerbaijan regarding opera singer Montserrat Caballe’s visit to the
occupied Azerbaijani territories, APA reports.

Spanish Foreign Ministry has said that such visits paid on personal
initiatives do not change the official position of the state. It is
said that Spain recognizes the principle of territorial integrity
like all other principles of the international law and supports the
international community’s efforts towards the peaceful solution of
Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

On June 5, Azerbaijan’s embassy in Spain submitted a note of protest
to Spain’s Foreign Ministry regarding the illegal visit of Montserrat
Caballe to the occupied Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

Ankara: Azerbaijani Public Split Into Two

TURKISH RADIO AND TELEVISION CORPORATION , TRT, TURKEY

AZERBAICANI PUBLIC SPLIT INTO TWO

The head of the Azerbaicani State Oil company SOCAR , Revnak
Abdullayev’s statement that if Armenia comes up with a natural gas
demand, Azerbaican will certainly meet it has split the Azerbaicani
public down the middle.

This statement has been supported by some and rejected by some others
given the fact that 20% of Azerbaican’s lands are under Armenian
occupation.

An increase of 64% in the price of the natural gas by Russia, which
is Armenia’s biggest natural gas supplier, has met with great reaction
among Armenians.

They gathered before the Russian embassy in Yerevan and protested at
the increase.

Azerbaican’s statement has come right at that moment.

Revnak Abdullayev, the head of Azerbaican’s giant natural gas company
SOCAR, said , in an interview to the ANS television, that Azerbaican
could sell natural gas to Armenia if such a demand were to come.

He said that Azerbaican is a humanistic country and is bound to help
out Armenia if a demand in that direction were to come from it.

That happened to be a statement to have split the Azerbaicanis down
the middle.

Many Azerbaicanis are against the cheap sale of natural gas to Armenia
when one fifth of their country is under Armenian occupation.

Azerbaican sells 1000cubic meters of natural gas at 230 dollars to
its neighbour Georgia.

Armenia gets the same amount of natural gas from Russia for 315
dollars.

Soccer: Armenia Upsets Denmark 4-0, Danes’ WCup Hopes Fade

ARMENIA UPSETS DENMARK 4-0, DANES’ WCUP HOPES FADE

Associated Press Worldstream
June 11, 2013 Tuesday 9:18 PM GMT

Denmark’s hopes of reaching the 2014 World Cup finals are all but
over after it slumped to a dismal 4-0 home defeat by Armenia in a
qualifier on Tuesday.

“This is the worst evening in my football life,” Denmark coach Morten
Olsen said. “It is beyond my understanding that we cannot do better,
but it is my fault 100 percent.”

Armenia striker Yura Movsisyan opened the scoring within 30 seconds
of the kickoff after Denmark’s Simon Kjaer accidentally passed the
ball to him.

Aras Ozbiliz made it 2-0 in the 19th minute, sending his shot past
goalkeeper Stephan Andersen after a mistake by an increasingly
error-prone Denmark defense.

Movsisyan added Armenia’s third goal in the 59th minute, prompting
fans to start leaving the Parken stadium.

Armenia almost scored again in the 71st minute when Movsisyan’s effort
beat Andersen, only for William Kvist to make a goalline clearance.

But there was no stopping Henrikh Mkhitaryan from scoring Armenia’s
fourth in the 81st minute with a powerful left-foot shot.

Denmark, the surprise 1992 European champions, disappointed throughout
the 90 minutes. Substitute Simon Makienok came closest to scoring
for the home side in the closing stages, but his initial shot hit
the post and his effort on the rebound flew into the keeper’s arms.

When Movsisyan, a former striker with Danish club Randers FC, left
the pitch in the 83rd minute, the Denmark fans applauded him.

To add insult to injury, Armenia leapfrogged Denmark in the standings.

Denmark lies fifth in the six-team Group B with six points from as
many games. Group leader Italy has 12 points, Bulgaria 10, Czech
Republic nine and Armenia six.
