Kurdistan syrien : plus de 100 jihadistes et membres d’ASL tués

Des combats se poursuivent entre les combattants kurdes et les
jihadistes qui subissent de lourdes pertes. Plus de 100 membres
d’al-Qaïda et de certaines brigades de l’armée syrienne libre (ASL)
ont été tués et deux autres ont été pris en otage au cours des 48
dernières heures.

De violents combats ont opposé dans la nuit du 13 au 14 août les
combattants kurdes de l’YPG aux jihadistes du front al-Nosra et de
l’Etat islamique en Irak et au Levant (EIIL), deux groupes affiliés à
Al-Qaïda, dans les régions de Tirbespiyé et Kobani, au Kurdistan
occidental, le territoire kurde en Syrie.

Au moins 50 membres d’al-Qaïda ont été tués et un canon antiaérien a
été saisi par des combattants kurdes, autour des villages de Taya,
Mazluma et Sofya, dans la région de Tirbespiyé, tandis que 32 autres
ont été tués à Ilajak, un village de la région de Kobani, selon le
commandement général de l’YPG. Deux combattants kurdes ont perdu la
vie et trois autres ont été blessés, au cours de ces combats. L’YPG a
affirmé que plusieurs brigades de l’armée syrienne libre (ASL) ont
également participé aux combats aux cotés des jihadistes.

Dans la nuit du 14 au 15 août, des affrontements violents ont eu lieu
dans les villages de Guirhok, Yossufiyé et Abu Hajar à Chilakha
(Çilaxa en kurde), dans la région de Guirké Legué, entre les
combattants kurdes et les jihadistes. 32 membres des groupes armés ont
été tués par des combattants kurdes à Yossufiyé, selon des sources
proches de l’YPG.

Prenant le contrôle total du village d’Abu Hajar, les combattants
kurdes affirment avoir tués 21 jihadistes et avoir pris en otage deux
autres lors des affrontements dans ce village. Les Kurdes ont
également saisi deux obus, trois kalachnikovs, deux véhicules, un BKC
(fusil-mitrailleur) et de nombreuses munitions, tandis qu’un véhicule
transportant un canon anti aérien a été détruit, au cours des
affrontements dans ces quatre villages, selon les mêmes sources.

Les affrontements ont poursuivi dans la nuit du 14 au 15 août dans la
région de Tirbespiye. Dix membres des groupes armés ont été tués dans
les affrontements qui ont eu lieu dans les villages de Chélêké et
Kharduka. Par ailleurs, les jihadistes ont attaqué le village de
Lêlan, dans la même région, tuant deux combattants kurde.

A Kobani, les brigades de l’ASL ont lancé une attaque contre le
village de Boraz, ce qui a déclenché de nouveaux affrontements. Le 14
août, entre 18 heures et minuit, de nombreux membres de l’ASL ont été
tués et blessés. Selon des sources locales, ces groupes armés ont
transporté les corps sans vie de 20 membres de l’ASL vers la ville de
Minbij, 70 km au nord-est d’Alep.

A Tall Abyad, ville frontalière avec la Turquie dans la région de
Raqa, les combattants de l’YPG ont détruit un véhicule transportant un
canon anti aérien, entre les villages de Yarkoyu et Tall Khidir.

500 CIVILS ENLEVES PAR DES JIHADISTES

Subissant de lourdes pertes dans les régions kurdes de Serêkaniyê
(Rass al-Ain), Tall Tamer, Hassaka, Tirbespiye, Chil Aga, Tall Kocher,
Tall Abyad et Kobani, les jihadistes ont de nouveau pris pour cible
les civils kurdes. La région de Sed Shahab, constituée de villages de
Kafar Zikhir, Narabiya, Kubbessini, Kul Suruch, Jabal Assi et Tall
Maden, a été encerclée le 14 aout par des jihadistes. Cette région est
située dans le triangle Alep/Bab/Azzaz. Visant les villages kurdes de
cette region, les groupes armees ont enlevé environ 500 personnes,
a-t-on appris des sources kurdes. Près de 1.500 familles ont fui leurs
maisons.

Au moins 70 civils kurdes sans protection avaient été massacrés
sauvagement par des jihadistes, entre le 29 juillet et le 1er août,
dans les petites villes de Tall Hassel et Tall Aren, dans la région
d’Alep, sous silence international. Des brigades de l’armée syrienne
libre (ASL), soutenue par l’Occident, ont également participé à ce
massacre.

Des centaines de civils ont été enlevés, tandis que des milliers
d’autres avaient dû fuir vers le désert pour sauver leur vie, au
moment où les mosquées de Tall Hassel et Tall Aren, sous contrôle des
djihadistes, annonçaient que les biens et les femmes kurdes étaient «
halal », appelant ainsi au viol et aux nouveaux massacres. Plusieurs
femmes seraient violées par ces criminels.

L’Arménie, 4ème du biathlon en char d’assaut

« Plus fort que le biathlon, le biathlon en char d’assaut » titrait «
Libération » sur son site le 13 août. Et d’ajouter « on doit cette
nouvelle discipline aux Russes. Seuls la Biélorussie, l’Arménie et le
Kazakhstan se sont pour le moment lancés (…) une petite course de
chars pour détendre l’atmosphère entre Moscou et Washington ? ». Les
participants ont parcouru une piste de 20 kilomètres avec plusieurs
cibles à atteindre, chaque cible manquée ajoutant 500 mètres
supplémentaires à parcourir. Des quatre pays engagés en finale de ce
biathlon en char d’assaut, l’Arménie termina 4ème, c’est-à-dire
dernière… « Celà nous change du quotidien et développe l’esprit du
sport et de compétition » dit l’un des soldats participant au jeu !

L’Arménie offre d’échanger des prisonniers militaires à l’Azerbaïdjan

L’Arménie a proposé jeudi de libérer un prisonnier de guerre
azerbaïdjanais alors qu’elle essaye d’obtenir la libération d’un
soldat arménien qui a été capturé par les troupes azerbaïdjanaises
près du Haut-Karabagh la semaine dernière.

Le vice-ministre de la défense Davit Tonoyan a dit que Firuz Farajev,
un soldat azerbaïdjanais qui est entré en Arménie il y a un an, a
`changé d’avis et a exprimé le désir de retourner en Azerbaïdjan.`

À cette fin, Firuz Farajev a demandé une `réunion d’urgence` avec les
représentants des agences humanitaires internationales a dit Davit
Tonoyan au chef du bureau d’Erevan du Comité international de la
Croix-Rouge (CICR), Dragana Rankovic. Il a déclaré que le ministère
arménien de la Défense espère donc que les représentants du CICR vont
visiter le prisonnier de guerre en détention, selon un communiqué du
ministère.

Firuz Farajev a été arrêté par les troupes arméniennes dans une
section ouest de la frontière de l’Arménie avec l’Azerbaïdjan en
Juillet 2012. Le ministère arménien de la Défense a déclaré à l’époque
que le jeune soldat de 20 ans a délibérément franchi la frontière.

Le porte-parole du ministère, Artsrun Hovannisian, a admis que la
déclaration de Davit Tonoyan s’élève à une offre d’échange de Firuz
Farajev contre Hagop Injighulian, un soldat arménien qui a franchi la
ligne de contact au Karabagh dans des circonstances non encore
élucidées la semaine dernière. `La partie arménienne est prête à
ramener ses citoyens à n’importe quel prix` a dit Artsrun Hovannisian
au service arménien de RFE / RL (Azatutyun.am).

L’armée arménienne insiste sur le fait que Hagop Injighulian s’est
égaré dans le territoire contrôlé par la partie azerbaïdjanaise. Mais
plus tôt cette semaine, Hagop Injighulian a été montré à la télévision
azerbaïdjanaise disant qu’il a fait défection après avoir été agressé
par un de ses commandants.

L’armée arménienne a rejeté cette affirmation, disant que le jeune
militaire de 22 ans a été contraint de présenter une fausse version
des événements. Elle a également condamné l’apparition télévisée en
tant que violation des conventions internationales sur le traitement
des prisonniers de guerre.

Dans un communiqué publié mercredi, une commission du gouvernement
arménien qui traite des prisonniers de guerre et des personnes
disparues a fait valoir que les conventions interdisent toute
exposition publique de soldats ennemis capturés. Elle a également
déploré le fait qu’Hagop Injighulian portait un uniforme de l’armée
azerbaïdjanaise.

La Commission a également exprimé sa préoccupation devant le fait que
le CICR n’a pas encore rendu visite à Hagop Injighulian jusqu’à
présent. Elle a souligné le sort des deux captifs arméniens qui sont
morts en Azerbaïdjan en 2008 et 2010 avant d’être en mesure de
rencontrer des représentants de la Croix-Rouge.

Le CICR a également fait face à des critiques de la famille d’Hagop
Injighulian qui manifestait devant son bureau à Erevan. `Nous
resterons ici jusqu’à ce que la Croix-Rouge nous explique pourquoi
elle n’a pas encore visité mon garçon` a dit le père du prisonnier de
guerre, Gevorg Injighulian, au service arménien de RFE / RL
(Azatutyun.am).

Le communiqué du ministère arménien de la Défense a cité Dragana
Rankovic assurant davit Tonoyan que les représentants du CICR à Bakou
croient qu’ils vont bientôt avoir accès au soldat arménien.

RUSSIA WILL NOT “BEGRUDGE” ARMENIA FOR INITIALING EU ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT – POLITICAL SCIENTIST

YEREVAN. – Nothing has changed in Russian-Azerbaijani relations. No
drastic change has occurred in the military-technical cooperation
between both countries.

Armenian Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation
Director, political scientist Stepan Grigoryan noted the aforesaid
during a press conference on Friday.

“As for [Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev receiving [Russian
President Vladimir] Putin’s support in the [forthcoming] presidential
elections to be conducted [inAzerbaijan], it should be stressed that
Azerbaijan’s incumbent president has no problem in being reelected,”
Grigoryan noted.

He highlighted that Aliyev is accepted despite criticisms by the US
and Europe.

The political analyst also expressed a view that Armenian-Russian
relations will remain at the same level.

“I do not think that Russia would ‘begrudge’ us [i.e., Armenia] in
connection with initialing the [Armenia-]EU Association Agreement. Our
semi-integration with Europe will not cause problems. We do not set
an objective of joining the European Union,” he said.

Stepan Grigoryan added that Russia has no concerns that any force
can make it withdraw its military base fromArmenia.

“The experience shows that Azerbaijan is trying its best to ignore
the documents and the calls that are voiced from NKR not willing to
see the state as a governmental unit”,- so answered politician Hrant
Melik-Shahnazaryan to the question of Aravot.am as to NKR Foreign
Ministry has called on Azerbaijan not to impede the visit of foreign
citizens to NKR, what consequences and responses it may have. He
emphasized the importance of such statements, said that they raise
the reputation of NKR and stated that the call itself is already
seriously discussed by the western countries. They rightly point
out that such a policy of Azerbaijan can no way contribute to the
peaceful settlement of the conflict, and exacerbates the conflict in
the region more. To the question whether this statement may result
in activations at the border, the politician said, “I am confident
that the policy of Azerbaijan at the border and its threats are not
conditioned by the policy of NKR. It is the policy adopted by them,
which is consistently implemented. Every time, they become active
at the state border on the background of increasing international
attention towards the region, and skirmishing taken place before
Putin’s visit is a vivid example of it. Azerbaijan is trying to
show that there is frozen conflict, and is trying to obstruct
the negotiation process, it refers to the Minsk Group processes,
from which Azerbaijan is trying to avoid consistently. Therefore,
I do not believe that NKR statements can promote or hinder the
decision of Azerbaijan.” In the opinion of Ruben Mehrabyan, expert
of Centre for Political and International Studies, NKR FM’s call in
Azerbaijan would be subjected to political manipulation conditioned
with presidential elections. Mr. Mehrabyan believes that Karabakh
side should have come up with such a statement earlier, and “now it is
not the opportune moment to make a statement to this respect.” Ruben
Mehrabyan does not think that Azerbaijan will subject this call to
relevant discussion, and would give an adequate response. The expert
considers the activation of Azerbaijani side possible and states that
“it is not particularly quiet even now.” Then he details,- “Why should
it be quiet if they have Putin-like arms supplier, and those speaking
about the possibility of a political solution, our strategic ally does
not say a word that the threat of war is inadmissible. At large, it is
the result of an error made by us, as the Armenian diplomacy is not
particularly involved in generation concepts, but always goes after
back of the events. Our MFA is just missing. Armenia should initiate
appropriate steps to all this, whereas we see the passive position,
miserable fear, manhood and determination of authorities is satisfied
with only hitting the heads of demonstrators.” Describing the conduct
of Russia, Ruben Mehrabyan said,- “It’s not that we have a strategic
ally, but just a scoundrel like drugs smuggler that earns dividends
on this conflict. Someone with the behavior of pimp that spoils
everything for extending its own miserable presence in the region.”

TURKEY’S DEMEANOR HAS NOT CHANGED – ARMENIAN MP

YEREVAN. – The conduct of the Turkish side is very familiar.

Unfortunately, it has not changed in recent years to any extent.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Davit Harutyunyan told the
aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Harutyunyan commented on Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s “wish”
that, in the future, the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States
summit would be convened in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Any such statement has a provocative nature and it is an attempt to
apply pressure on the [Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict peace talks. But I am
confident thatTurkey will not achieve this,” Davit Harutyunyan added.

declaration of Gabala summit of the Cooperation Council of
Turkic-Speaking States includes an article on Armenian-Azerbaijani,
Nagorno Karabakh conflict, APA reports.

According to the 13th article, Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno
Karabakh conflict is the biggest problem undermining the regional
stability and cooperation. The sides support the steps that will
contribute to the peaceful solution to the conflict. They support
the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict within Azerbaijan’s
internationally-recognized borders.

The member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking
States (CCTS) must ensure the continuous well-being in these countries,
the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the
third summit of the CCTS held in Azerbaijani city of Gabala on Aug. 16.

“Unfortunately, Azerbaijan, for a long time, has been suffering from
Armenian occupation. Twenty percent of Azerbaijani lands are under
occupation, and the country’s territorial integrity, recognized
by the international community, is being violated,” Azerbaijani
President said.

An ethnic cleansing was carried out against the Azerbaijani people
and all norms of the international law were grossly violated, the
Head of Azerbaijani State emphasized.

“Rapid and fair settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict on the basis of international law will put an end to this
injustice and contribute to regional security,” the Azerbaijani
President said.

According to him, this conflict must be settled within the framework
of international law and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the
Joint Declaration of the CCTS reflects exactly these principles.

“In this regard, I would like to express gratitude to my colleagues,”
President Aliyev said.

PARAKAR WINE EXHIBITION TO ALLOW CONSUMERS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ARMENIAN WINES

YEREVAN, August 16. / ARKA /. The wine exhibition, scheduled for
August 18 in the Armenian village of Parakar near Yerevan will allow
Armenian consumers to learn more about their country’s wine production,
Nune Manukian, director of Areni Festival Foundation, said to a news
conference today.

She said virtually all Armenian wineries had been informed about
the exhibition by Areni Festival Foundation and Industry Development
Foundation, however only five winemaking companies, located close to
the Armenian capital city, responded positively.

Ms. Manukian said the organizers plan to hold this event every month
because it will benefit both producers and consumers who could once
a month buy Armenian wine cheaper than in supermarkets.

She noted also that the wine festival in Parakar is often confused
with the annual Wine Festival in the village of Areni in Vayots Dzor.

“The Areni Festival is the culmination of the ‘winemaking’ year; it
is visited by many foreign tourists and sommeliers who conduct tasting
and give estimates of the Armenian wine, while the Parakar exhibition
is designed to promote wine sales within the country,” she said.

She said the guests of Parakar exhibition will be entertained by Karin
ensemble of traditional songs and dances that will not only present
traditional dances, but also teach festival participants to dance.

It will be joined by Parakar dance group. The exhibition opening
ceremony will be preceded by grape blessing ceremony in the local
church.

Currently Armenia has 20 small and medium-sized wineries. It
is believed that some 40,000 farmers in the country are
engaged in viticulture. Some 90% of the grape is used to
produce brandy and only 10% – wine. According to statistics,
wine production in the first six months of this year
