KAMO AREYAN: PUBLIC TRANSPORT FARE RISE IS INEVITABLE

The public transport fare rise in Yerevan is inevitable, Vice Mayor
of Yerevan Kamo Areyan told the media on Tuesday.

He did not specify when and how much the transport fare will rise
but pointed out that the Commission set up to settle the problem will
finish its work in a month. Areyan also promised that the quality of
public transport services will considerably grow after the rise in
the transport fare.

To recall, on July 20 the Municipality of Yerevan announced a 50%
rise in the public transport fare in Yerevan, however, the given
decision was suspended following wide-scale protests.

Money Acquires Predominant Role Today – Armenian Politician

MONEY ACQUIRES PREDOMINANT ROLE TODAY – ARMENIAN POLITICIAN

16:24 ~U 29.10.13

The post-Soviet period saw a thorough change of values in the former
USSR countries as money came to replace absolutely everything, says
Ashot Manucharyan, a former member of the Karabakh committee.

“That system had things to gain from Armenia in the economic and
political sectors. Politically, it expected the country to serve the
regime and its objectives; economically, it expected raw materials at
low prices, that is, human resources, intelligent and talented people.

The economic systems in the country had to attract and direct the
riches to the main countries governed by the wallet system, producing
a vacuum-cleaner effect. That’s what our oligarchs are doing now,
squeezing the country out of its riches to invest them in foreign
banks, instead of building factories to offer jobs to people. Armenia
is financed by the foreign world; we have made an investment of
$40-$50 million in the West and still have a debt of $5 million,”
the politician told a news conference on Tuesday.

Speaking of the re-established Armenian Pan-national movement (of which
he was a member), Manucharyan noted that its objectives are completely
different from the real taks of a political party. He said the idea has
more to do with people’s memories and their attachment to the party.

According to him, the veterans of the Nagorno-Karabakh war are of
more interest in today, with their active campaign directed to the
protection of their rights differing from all other processes.

“The logic behind the process which they have started runs counter
to this wallet system. They are not submitting a bid for a seat in
front of the manger; they are trying to help this country. And I am
standing by them today, as a political figure,” he added.

AMBASSADOR: THE BILL ON CRIMINALIZING OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DENIAL IS IN THE THE CENTER OF THE FRENCH AUTHORITIES’ ATTENTION

The bill on criminalizing of the Armenian genocide denial is in the
center of the French authorities’ attention, French Ambassador to
Armenia Henri Reynaud said at today’s press-conference in Yerevan.

“When in January 2012 the French Parliament circulated a draft bill
criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, the law appeared to be
on the agenda of the France’s Constitutional Council. In the result
of the study the Council did not adopt the bill due to its being
non-harmonized with the French Constitution”, – Henri Reynaud said
and added that no clear dates have been defined for the “return” and
discussion of the bill at the Senate. “Currently the corresponding
authorities are working in that direction to harmonize the bill”, –
Henri Reynaud said.

Azerbaijani Deputy PM Threatens To Take Revenge Upon Armenians

AZERBAIJANI DEPUTY PM THREATENS TO TAKE REVENGE UPON ARMENIANS

October 29, 2013 | 15:13

Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov, who is also chairman
of country’s State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, threatened to
take revenge upon the Armenians.

And the reason for such a statement was the “20th anniversary of the
occupation of Zangilan region.”

In this connection the Azerbaijani official again threatened with
bloodshed.

“Today, Armenians are settled in the occupied Zangilan region. Those
Armenians will twice live the life of refugees,” Hasanov told
journalists, reports APA news agency of Azerbaijan.

In his words, during the inauguration, Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev declared that not only Karabakh and the other “occupied
territories,” but also Goychay and Zangazur will be liberated, and
the Azerbaijanis will return to their historical lands.

“The historical justice will be restored. Zangilan region was
established in 1930. In 1940-1950, a large part of the region was
given to Armenia. Nuvadi and other villages are also among these
territories. Azerbaijanis will return to these regions, too. I warn
Armenians living in Zangilan, they will not permanently live in those
lands. Azerbaijanis will return to Zangazur and Goychay as well.”

Overall, 189,000 people with disabilities are officially registered in
Armenia, with 92% of them unemployed, according to the USAID-financed
Livelihood Improvement through Fostered Employment (LIFE) program.

The Save the Children organization and the International Organization
for Migration (IOM) presented a program on Tuesday.

Dr. Karen R. Hilliard USAID/Armenia Mission Director noted that
employers prefer young pretty girls.

It is time for a law that would ban any discrimination against people
with disabilities and allow their employment on equal conditions,
she said.

Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jemma
Baghdasaryan stressed the need for equal opportunities for people
with special needs to become full members of society.

“The government has approved a relevant bill, which has been submitted
to Armenia’s Parliament. Government-financed organizations must
set an example in employing people with disabilities,” she said. Ms
Baghdasaryan commended Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations,
which has employed 30 people with disabilities.

Save the Children Country Office Director Irina Saghoyan said that
people with disabilities can not only be conscientious workers, but
can also bring economic advantages to employers. About 600 people with
disabilities are not taking retraining courses to be employed later.

[To Read: ‘The Armenians: Road to genocide’. A book by Angelo Lieto –
The Holocaust of the Armenians still an open wound and not recognized
by Europe]

libro tratta di argomenti tragici e situazioni politiche ingarbugliate

basato su ricerche storiche e scientificamente attendibile, fondate
armene arrivano a 2.500.000.
geo-politici considerano dannoso ammetterlo.
Francia considera invece reato negarlo.

Armenia U17 0-2 Republic of Ireland U17 – Boys in Green seal progress
to Elite Stage

Tom Mohan’s side followed up their 4-1 win over Gibraltar with another
convincing display to advance to the next round of Euro 2014
qualifying

Tom Mohan’s Republic of Ireland Under-17s guaranteed a top two finish
in Euro 2014 Qualifying First Round Group Seven with a 2-0 win over
group hosts Armenia. Georgie Poynton and Jesse Devers were on target
for the Boys in Green to earn all three points.

Armenia missed the chance to go ahead after just two minutes as James
Talbot fouled Robert Minasyan in the area. However, the goalkeeper
redeemed himself with a great save to keep out Hayk Galstyan before
Minasyan knocked the rebound onto the post.

The Boys in Green made no mistake from the spot when they won their
own penalty on 30 minutes, with Dundalk midfielder Georgie Poynton
capitalising after a handball in the box. Ireland’s second came midway
through the second-half as Devers fired home following Corey Whelan’s
initial effort.

After the match, manager Tom Mohan praised his young side. “It’s
really a sense of great relief to progress. We were up against the
home nation in a game that had a cup final feel because it was winner
takes all,” he said.
“The players were fantastic. Armenia pushed a lot of bodies forward
and were a completely different side than they were against England in
their opening game. Our lads showed a lot of character to withstand
the pressure at times. We had our chances as well but overall we
showed great character throughout. it’s a great feeling to be
through.”

Ireland play England on Tuesday, October 29 to determine the winner of
Group Seven.

Aram Sargsyan: Unlike Customs Union, EU is established structure

Saturday, October 26, 2013

`Unlike the Customs Union, the European Union is an established
structure. Today we have to make a choice between two organizations:
we want to become part of one of them, and we are forced to join the
other,’ the chairman of Republic Party Aram Sargsyan told journalists
at the founding congress of HHSh Party today, when commenting on
Armenia’s foreign policy.
`I am against any coercion, especially coercion towards something that
has no future,’ he noted.

Asked whether the decision on entry into the Customs Union can be
revoked, Aram Sargsyan said their party conducted negotiations with
several political forces and outlined maximum and minimum programs.

`The minimum program envisages doing everything so that Armenia will
not become a member of the senseless, unpromising Customs Union. By
the maximum program, we should take measures so that – if not through
the Vilnius summit, then later – Armenia and its younger generation
could be part of the EU and live according to European and fundamental
values,’ Aram Sargsyan said.

When asked what position his brother Vazgen Sargsyan would take on
this issue, Aram Sargsyan replied that his brother always acted for
the benefit of Armenian statehood. `If you think he would accept
Armenia’s decision on entry into the Customs Union, you are sadly
mistaken,’ he said.
