Man Utd boss Mourinho drops Pogba and Mkhitaryan hints

Jose Mourinho all but confirmed Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to Manchester United during his first press conference as Red Devils boss, reports.

Prior to his appearance at Old Trafford, the Portuguese has already signed Eric Bailly for £30million and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer. But when asked about any further new signings, Mourinho let slip. Which you can watch in the video above.

Turning to his PR assistant, he asked: “The third player is already official, or not yet?”

To which she replies: “No.”

Continuing, the new Reds boss says: “The new signing will be official, when?”

“Soon,” she replies.

Mourinho then adds: “I am very clear in my approach and model to play and I need specialists in that. I like one or two multi-functional because you need them when you are in a bit of trouble.

“I want specialists. We decided four targets. Until we have the fourth, we are still working hard. Myself, the structure, Mr Woodward, the owners – we are working hard on that. When we have the fourth, I breathe, we all breathe. We will not get the fourth on 31st August. We will get it before that and then we are stable.”

Iran says gas exports to Armenia to be tripled

Managing director of  the Head of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) has reported on the reached agreement with Armenia to bring about a threefold increase in Iran’s gas exports to the the country, Mehr News Agency reports.

Following an earlier power deal between Iran and Armenia over increasing the electricity exchange volume, the two countries have reached a new accord for boosting exports of natural gas.

Estimations reveal that electricity and gas exchanges between Iran and Armenia will climb threefold the current amount.

Head of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) Alireza Kameli said Iran is now deploying one million cubic meters of natural gas to Armenia per day asserting “on the basis of the preliminary agreement, the figure will hit three million cubic meters overall.”

“The two sides are currently preparing the required infrastructure for boosting natural gas exchange,” stressed the official adding “the accord will soon become finalized and operational with more negotiations.”

Kameli pointed to the country’s gas production capacity reiterating “at the present time, there exist no limitations for increasing gas exports to Armenia.”

Last summer, a contract was signed between the two countries for construction of the third 400-kV power transmission line worth more than 107 million Euros.

The transmission line between Iran and Armenia is 275 kilometers long and the entire process of procurement of equipment, construction, installation and commissioning will be carried out by the Iranian party.

It has been estimated that with construction of the new power network, electricity exchange volume between Iran and Armenia will rise from the current 300 to about 1000 megawatts.

Mending of Russian-Turkish ties will hardly affect Karabakh settlement process

By trying to mend ties with Russia, Turkey is solving a geopolitical issue, Director of the Oriental Studies Institute of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences Ruben Safrastyan said in an interview with .

He said “Turkey faces the threat of isolation because of its adventurist policy in Syria, which will be a serious diplomatic defeat,” the political scientist said, adding that “this was the motive behind Turkey’s move to normalize ties with both Israel and Russia.”

Safrastyan said the normalization of relations between Turkey and Russia will hardly affect the settlement of the Karabakh issue.

“I don’t think this will have a principled impact on the process of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh issue,” Ruben Safrastyan said. He reminded that the two countries enjoyed rather positive relations, especially in the economic field, before the downing of the Russian Su-24 last November, and it in no way impacted the Karabakh issue.
