Communist Party Claims Elections Rigged

COMMUNIST PARTY CLAIMS ELECTIONS RIGGED

tert.am
18.05.12

Armenia’s Communist Party does not accept the results of the
parliamentary voting in Armenia on May 6. “We are convinced that we
have received not 16 thousand votes but much more,” Ruben Tovmasyan
said, speaking to reporters on Friday.

According to him, seeing they are going to lose to the Communist Party,
other parties rigged the elections, distributed election bribes.

“They have managed to reach this result only on the account of poor
condition of the people,” Tovmasyan said.

In any case Ruben Tovmasyan said he is glad because the 16 000 votes
they have received are pure which is much more important for them.

“During the previous elections we got 8 thousand votes, this time in
spite of rigging we have doubled our votes,” he said.

Ruben Tovmasyan added that all the common citizens describe the
elections as “shameful”.

“The new parliament does not reflect the real political picture in
Armenia,” he said.

The party’s leader said he has not made up his mind to run for
presidency or not. The decision will be made at the party gathering.

“The time will show whether the Communist Party will enter the
presidential fight or not,” Tovmasyan said, adding that no one can
break their will.
