Gagik Tsarukyan As Political Actor Is Evil – Armenian President Says

GAGIK TSARUKYAN AS POLITICAL ACTOR IS EVIL – ARMENIAN PRESIDENT SAYS

YEREVAN, February 12. / ARKA /. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
said today that Gagik Tsarukyan, a well-known entrepreneur and the
leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, as a political actor, is evil
for the country.

“And this is natural, a personality, who controls necessary
mechanisms for participation in political processes, but possesses
low intellectual capacity, unwittingly becomes a hindrance for
any development,” said Sargsyan, when speaking at a meeting of the
executive council of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.

According to the president, it has long been obvious that the emergence
of a bright personality or a bright idea is followed by raging power
of darkness, labeling, discrediting, abuse of thought.

“Sound familiar, does not it? And do not say that this is only
used against pro-government politicians. All is well understood by
everybody. That Gagik Tsarukyan has great political ambitions is a
tragedy, and in some way it is even funny,” said Sargsyan.

“Can you imagine a situation in which Tsarukyan reads a text at
the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,
which is followed by questions, including questions from Turkish and
Azeri MPs. Yes, it is very difficult to imagine, even horrible. We
have not yet digested sarcastic stories of our colleagues about the
shameful impressions left by Tsarukyan’s several famous foreign visits,
” said the president.

Sargsyan said he has his own share of guilt in this. “For years I
would forbid you to speak publicly against all the absurdities of
Gagik Tsarukyan. I forbade anyone to mention him by his nickname
“Dodi Gago.” I called on you to give him time so that he correct his
mistakes,” said Sargsyan.

The president stressed that he did not have any personal interest,
trying only to cover the obvious problem, not to make it a problem
for others.

“This I did in the first place as the President of the Republic, as
the leader of the ruling political force. Tsarukyan’s steps, who is
head of the second largest faction in the parliament, were important
to me, particularly in terms of ensuring political stability in the
country and keeping society from the perspective of involvement in
a variety of adventures,” said the head of state.

“I’ve always tried to be patient, forbearing, explaining slowly
and calmly and showing the direction. Sometimes he realized it,
but sometimes it was impossible to imagine the realities brought to
the degree of primitivism, and something did not work. I was wrong,
tried to protect many, but did not see that thereby I was harming
the entire political field, since the existence of such a political
phenomenon in itself distorts the whole field,” the president added.

“I know that you for a long time accused me for the protection of such
a political or rather pseudo-political subject, for cultivating him.

Yes, it was a mistake, my mistake. My and a few people, but I think
their guilt is mine. The error should be corrected, quickly and
completely. From now on, no one has the right to stop or delay,”
said the president.

Prosperous Armenia is the second largest force in the parliament
controlling 36 seats. It was part of coalition governments from 2007
to 2012. Now it positions itself as an alternative political force.

Either Russia Collapses Or Azerbaijani People Change: Azerbaijani Ex

EITHER RUSSIA COLLAPSES OR AZERBAIJANI PEOPLE CHANGE: AZERBAIJANI EXPERT ON KARABAKH CONFLICT

02.12.2015 11:24 epress.am

The OSCE Minsk Group which deals with the peaceful resolution of the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has done everything possible to promote
the negotiation process, has proposed all reasonable options,
however the two sides have not accepted them. The Minsk Group is
unable to do anything further, said Azerbaijani political expert and
Armenian-Azerbaijani peace resolution process participant Zardusht
Alizadeh in an interview with the Azerbaijani Turan agency.

At the same time, as reported by Contact.az, the expert stressed that
the co-chairs of the Minsk Group, Russia, US, and France, are not
interested in the resolution of the conflict. According to Alizadeh,
Russia is trying to freeze the conflict in an attempt to leave the
Post-Soviet space under its influence; “The situation in Ukraine is
striking proof of that.”

According to the expert, the Azerbaijani people and government are
able to change the status quo. “If Azerbaijan wishes to liberate
Karabakh, then they must implement deep reforms toward a policy of
securing peace. Either Russia needs to collapse, or the Azerbaijani
people must change. But I don’t see a political power cabable of
implementing such changes” noted Alizadeh.

Alizadeh believes that in order to reach a peaceful resolution,
Armenia must come out of Russia’s control, which would allow the
country to take a more realistic stance and lead to compromises.

In regards to the US, Alizadeh said that “if Washington wanted,
stability could be violated and bloody conflicts could begin. And
the opposite, if it wanted, a peace process would begin. The US is
not doing what it can in Karabakh.”

Second Armenian-Russian Youth Forum To Take Place In Autumn 2015 In

SECOND ARMENIAN-RUSSIAN YOUTH FORUM TO TAKE PLACE IN AUTUMN 2015 IN RUSSIA

YEREVAN, February 12. /ARKA/. The second Armenian-Russian youth forum
will take place in autumn 2015 in Russia, Arsen Karamyan, Armenian
deputy minister of sports and youth said Thursday at the first forum
opening in Yerevan.

“It is symbolic that the first forum is taking place in Armenia,
and I am convinced that the second Armenian-Russian youth forum
that is planned to be held this autumn in Russia will be organic
and logical continuation of this one,” he said. “I think that this
forum and following events will not only become a stable basis for
cooperation between government agencies working with young people
and between youth organizations in Armenia and Russia, but will also
lay groundwork for establishing new-quality business and friendly
relations between our countries.”

In his opinion, the quality of relations between Armenia and Russia
depends a great deal on the two countries’ young people.

The aim of this three-day forum is to develop intercultural dialogue
and humanitarian cooperation between the country’s young people,
to promote development of youth policy and to create a network of
youth nongovernmental organizations in Armenia and Russia.

The countries’ youth ministers and their deputies as well as other
officials are expected to attend the event.

About 150 young people from Armenia and Russia will take part in
the forum.

The Armenian sport and youth ministry is set to sign a cooperation
agreement with Russia’s International Youth Center state-funded
organization as part of the forum.

Economic cooperation prospects, establishment and development of joint
small and medium-size enterprises in the Eurasian Economic Union’s
economic space, public diplomacy and youth parliamentary activity,
preservation of historical and cultural legacy and intercultural
dialogue as means of youth cooperation will be discussed here.

Tourism In Armenia To Grow In 2015

TOURISM IN ARMENIA TO GROW IN 2015

12:42, 12 February, 2015

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of
Armenia expects a growth in the sector of tourism of more than 10%
in 2015. The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Karen
Chshmarityan sated about it at the session of the Government,
presenting the Tourism Assistance Services program 2015, for the
implementation of which 188 million drams will be allocated.

“The events, devoted to the tourism development, will be directed to
the diversification of the tourist services and the expansion of their
kinds. The practice shows that the targeting of the tourist services,
that is the fostering of this or that kind is a very rapid and dynamic
process and in Armenia new tourist directions appear. The program
of this year is very important, as large-scale events, devoted to
the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, are intended to be held. In
this case the tourist companies and hotel economies should be more
attentive. Quite a coordinated and thorough work will be carried
out in their assistance and qualification”, – said Chshmarityan,

Turkey Cancels Meeting With EU In Istanbul Due To Point On Armenian

TURKEY CANCELS MEETING WITH EU IN ISTANBUL DUE TO POINT ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

16:00, 11 February, 2015

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. The relations between Ankara and
Brussels have been escalated due to the inclusion of the point on
the Armenian Genocide in the report made by the European Parliament
comprising 442 points.

As reports “Armenpress” citing the Turkish objektifbakis.com news
website, on these grounds Turkey has unilaterally canceled the
Turkey-EU parliamentary commission, which was scheduled to be held
on February 18-19 in Istanbul.

Among other things, it is noted that Turkey thus expresses its
protest to Brussels claiming that this is a “diplomatic counteraction”
against adding the point on the Armenian Genocide to the proposals.
