directement a Athènes.

Armenia’s Budget Must Be ‘Over-Executed’ – Opposition MP

ARMENIA’S BUDGET MUST BE ‘OVER-EXECUTED’ – OPPOSITION MP

18:56 ~U 12.06.13

The economic growth is Armenia is not a fact, Hrant Bagratyan, an MP
from the Armenian National Congress (ANC) party, stated in Parliament
on Wednesday.

Armenian’s budget must not only be executed, but must also be
“over-executed.”

“Much lower figures were indicated in the draft budget so it was not
impossible to execute the budget,” Bagratyan said.

With respect to emigration, Bagraryan addressed Armenia’s minister
of finance, saying that the government-reported data on emigration
in 1991-1996 are not accurate.

“In those years, 360,000 people came from Azerbaijan and 330,000 left.

In 1991-1996, a total of 240,000 people left. So do not deceive us
with the figures,” Bagratyan said.

Turkey has rejected Pope Francois’s statement reflecting Armenian
claims regarding the 1915 incidents.

Ankara rebuffs Pope Francois’s statement reflecting Armenian claims
regarding the 1915 incidents.

A Foreign Ministry statement said that contribution to world peace
rather than extraction of animosity from history was expected from
the Pope because of his responsibility at a spiritual position.

The discontent felt over the statements of Roman Catholic Spiritual
Leader Pope Francois was expressed in the Foreign Ministry statement.

The statement reminded that the last years of the Ottoman Empire were
a tragic period for all peoples when the Turks, Armenians and other
communities had suffered grave pains.

Turkey’s proposal for the establishment of a joint commission to
uncover historical facts was repeated in the statement saying that
the Armenian historical point of view has been partially taking into
account only the sufferings of Armenians and distorting the incidents
in different ways.

Regarding the matter Vatican Ambassador in Ankara was summonsed to
Foreign Ministry and conveyed Turkey’s discomfort over the statements.

The Ambassador was asked to avoid such steps which could inflict
irreparable damage to bilateral relations.

ARMENIA HUMILIATES DENMARK IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER 4-0, DANES ARE ALMOST OUT OF WORLD CUP RACE

COPENHAGEN – Denmark’s hopes of reaching the 2014 World Cup finals
are all but over after it slumped to a dismal 4-0 home defeat by
Armenia in a qualifier on Tuesday.

“This is the worst evening in my football life,” Denmark coach Morten
Olsen said. “It is beyond my understanding that we cannot do better,
but it is my fault 100 per cent.”

Armenia striker Yura Movsisyan opened the scoring within 30 seconds
of the kickoff after Denmark’s Simon Kjaer accidentally passed the
ball to him.

Aras Ozbiliz made it 2-0 in the 19th minute, sending his shot past
goalkeeper Stephan Andersen after a mistake by an increasingly
error-prone Denmark defence.

Movsisyan added Armenia’s third goal in the 59th minute, prompting
fans to start leaving the Parken stadium.

Armenia almost scored again in the 71st minute when Movsisyan’s effort
beat Andersen, only for William Kvist to make a goalline clearance.

But there was no stopping Henrikh Mkhitaryan from scoring Armenia’s
fourth in the 81st minute with a powerful left-foot shot.

Denmark, the surprise 1992 European champions, disappointed throughout
the 90 minutes. Substitute Simon Makienok came closest to scoring
for the home side in the closing stages, but his initial shot hit
the post and his effort on the rebound flew into the keeper’s arms.

When Movsisyan, a former striker with Danish club Randers FC, left
the pitch in the 83rd minute, the Denmark fans applauded him.

To add insult to injury, Armenia leapfrogged Denmark in the standings.

Denmark lies fifth in the six-team Group B with six points from as
many games. Group leader Italy has 12 points, Bulgaria 10, Czech
Republic nine and Armenia six.

MORTEN OLSEN: ‘ARMENIA DEFEAT MAY BE WORST NIGHT OF MY CAREER’

Sports Mole, UK
June 12 2013

By Pascal Lemesre, Reporter

Denmark coach Morten Olsen has said that tonight’s humbling by
unfancied Armenia could be the worst night of his career.

The Danes were trounced 4-0 in Copenhagen to leave their hopes of
qualifying for next year’s World Cup in bits.

“I have no great analysis to offer,” said Olsen. “The only thing
I will say is that it is 100% my responsibility. There’s no doubt
about that. This is incomprehensible. It is arguably very close to
being the worst night of my career.”

Denmark now find themselves four points behind second-placed Bulgaria
in Group B and Olsen now doubts that they can reach Brazil 2014.

“After this I do not think we are fighting to be at a World Cup,”
he said. “There was great optimism before the game and we had
opportunities but, after this match, I can’t really see it.

Realistically, it will be difficult.”

Italy lead the group by four points ahead of Bulgaria.

Silent Protest Action In Front Of President’S Residence "You Betraye

SILENT PROTEST ACTION IN FRONT OF PRESIDENT’S RESIDENCE “YOU BETRAYED MONTE’S BLOOD”

ARMINFO
Wednesday, June 12, 13:48

Today, on occasion of the 20th death anniversary of the National Hero
of Armenia MonteMelkonyan, a group of civic activists gathered in
front of the presidential residence with a black banner “You betrayed
Monte’s blood.” Picketing the president’s residence for some 1.5 hour,
the activists left without explaining the goal of their action.

Monte Melkonyan born in Visalia (November 25, 1957), California and
educated at Berkely, was a famed Armenian military commander in the
Karabakh war. He is credited for major military victories against
Azerbaijan from 1992-1993. In April 1993, Melkonian was one of the
chief military strategists who planned and led the operation to
capture the region of Kalbajar, which lies between the Republic of
Armenia and Karabakh. Armenian forces captured the region in four
days of heavy fighting, sustaining far fewer fatalities than the enemy.

Monte was killed in the abandoned Azeri village of Merzuli in the
early afternoon of June 12, 1993, with controversial reports about the
circumstances of his death. Monte was buried with full military honors
on June 19, 1993 at Yerablur military cemetery in Yerevan, Armenia.

His tomb is a popular place for visitors of Armenia to come and pay
their respects to the great hero.

4th Floor To Be Constructed In Martiros Saryan House Museum

4TH FLOOR TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN MARTIROS SARYAN HOUSE MUSEUM

10:27, 12 June, 2013

YEREVAN, JUNE 12, ARMENPRESS. The Government of the Republic of
Armenia has allocated AMD 396 million from the reserve fund for the
capital repair of the Martiros Saryan House Museum. The Director of
the Martiros Saryan House Museum Ruzan Saryan stated this responding
to the inquiry of “Armenpress”. Among other things the Director of the
Martiros Saryan House Museum Ruzan Saryan noted: “The capital repair
of the museum is scheduled to last 9 months. The fortification of
the fundament has launched on May 5, as we are considering to build
the 4th floor as well.”

The museum opened on November 26, 1967. The halls of the museum
exhibit those hangings which the artist never parted with in his
lifetime. Naturally the collection is far from being complete, most of
the artistic works gracing the museums of Moscow, Leningrad, Tbilisi,
Kiev, Rostov on-the-Don and many other cities.

The collection of the museum comprises 160 canvases which the artist
executed in different periods of his life. Mainly his early works
are placed on view here: “Tales and Dreams” (1904-1907), “At the Well.

A Hot Day” (1908), Self-Portrait” (1909), “Istanbul Dogs” (1910),
apart from dozens of canvases painted in the Soviet period:

“Aragats” (1925), “A Yard in Yerevan” (1929), “Three Ages” (1943),
“Picking Cotton in the Valley of Ararat” (1949) and others symbolizing
the revival of the Armenian people.

He has an attractive gallery of portraits of conspicuous personalities
of the Soviet Union and Armenia: Alexey Tolstoy, Ilya Ehrenburg, I. S.

Issakov, G. Ulanova, Avetik Issahakian, Victor Ambatsumian and others.

A special hall is assigned to the exhibition of the graphic art of M.

Sarian. The museum houses also the artist’s atelier, where he created
from 1932 to 1972. Here upwards of two thousand graphic works and
water colors are stocked, in addition to 400 paintings which allow the
periodical renovation of the exposition. Everything in the atelier
is kept in its original form- the palette and the brushes of the
past master.

The viewers can familiarize themselves with the catalogues of shows
of different years and the canvases executed by the artist in his
last years.

Every year the museum marks February 28 (M. Sarian’s birthday) by a
new exposition. Moreover, topical and red-letter day shows are often
staged in the memorial-house.

The Museum is going to expand exhibiting and scientific activities
with the aim of establishing a center on the Saryan studies. In this
regard, systematization of the artist’s archives will be accomplished.

His private library will be catalogued and organization of conferences
is scheduled.

An art studio will be set up at the Museum, lectures and film screening
will be organized about modern painting.
