ED. NALBANDYAN, “WE WELCOME THE EFFORTS OF GEORGIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES EXERTED TOWARD REGULATING THE ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS”

TBILISI

TBILISI, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandyan stated today at a press conference held in Tbilisi that
Armenia welcomes the striving of Georgia and all other states,
which play a role of a mediator from the viewpoint of regulation
of relations between Armenia and Turkey. He noted that there is a
certain breaking-off in the mutual relations of Turkey and Armenia,
which is connected with disabling of the resolution by the Turkish
parliament, which was already agreed between the parties.

“The Turkish party used to put forward conditions, as a result of
which a breaking-off was registered in stabilization of the situation.

We expect Turkey to specify its position in the end. From that
viewpoint we welcome the efforts of Georgia and other countries exerted
toward regulating the situation,” the Armenian Foreign Minister
stated at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart
Grigol Vashadze. Today the head of the Armenian foreign political
department paid an official visit to Georgia.

MICHEL WIEVIORKA: ‘THE PROCESS OF NORMALIZATION OF THE ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS FAILED BECAUSE OF TURKEY’

YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS: The French mass media are well aware
of the historical of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, but they are now
concerned with another issue- the delaying process of normalization
of the Armenian-Turkish relations, Michel Wieviorka, head of the
‘House of Humanitarian Sciences’ foundation of Paris, said at
today’s meeting with journalists. According to him, the French mass
media are inclined to think that the process of normalization of the
Armenian-Turkish relations failed, because Turkey tended to propose
the issue of regulation of the NK conflict as a precondition.

‘The mass media in France realize that the Armenian side acted in
quite a good manner in the situation, created during the process of
normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations. Armenia did not
try to make the situation extreme, showing the whole world that,
in contrast to Turkey, it is ready to continue the process and does
not see any obstacles by the Armenian side,’ Michel Wieviorka stated.

He says, in contrast to the Turkish community, which is neither
organized nor united, the Armenian community of France has become
a guarantee for that the French mass media cover the situation in a
right way. ‘There is a strong, educated and united Armenian community
in France, which, unlike the Turkish community, always stands for
the protection of the interests of its country,’ Michel Wieviorka said.

ARMENIAN MINISTRY OF ECONOMY: INTERRELATION EDUCATION-INDUSTRY IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF BOTH SPHERES IN ARMENIA

/ARKA/

YEREVAN

Effective interrelation of education and industry is very important for
both spheres, said Vache Kirakosyan, Head of Department of Information
and High Technologies of Armenian Ministry of Economy.

“Some companies who understand the importance of this interrelation
and have relevant resources, undertake steps in this direction”,
said Kirakosyan during the forum “Meeting without Ties” of IT leaders
in Tsakhkadzor.

The companies “Synopsis Armenia” and “National Instruments” have
enough experience in this sphere.

Education, scientific-technical developments and commerce should be
the links of one chain.

“For this purpose it is necessary to develop relevant mechanisms. If
it is difficult to work with all higher education institutions, one-two
institution should be selected and start working with them”, he said.

Such a system helps to eliminate the concept of “higher education
for receiving diploma”.
