IJEVAN, JUNE 28, ARMENPRESS: Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia
Rashid Nurgaliyev and Chief of Armenia’s Police Alik Sargsyan visited
June 26 Goshavank. Rashid Nurgaliyev expressed desire to visit one of
the beautiful sights of Armenia and chose Goshavank. Governor of the
province of Tavush Armen Ghularyan, Head of Tavush Police Department
Khachik Asatryan and other officials of the province welcomed the
guests. Mr. Rashid Nurgaliyev got acquainted with the history of the
construction of Goshavank monastery, its architectural solutions.

The minister was told about the life of Mkhitar Gosh, founder of the
Armenian jurisprudence, his activities and the importance of Gosh’s
‘Datastanagirk (‘Judicial Code’)’ work for the international science
of law. Tavush Governor Armen Ghularyan said he underscores the
importance of the Armenian-Russian friendly relations in the state
and public levels. ‘Armenian Ornament’ dance group, ‘Dnepr’ ensemble
of Armenia’s Slavic communities made performances during the reception.

THE 5TH CIRCLE OF EXCAVATIONS KICK OFF IN ARENI VILLAGE

YEREVAN, JUNE 28, ARMENPRESS: The research group, consisted of
Armenian, Irish and US archeologists, started today the fifth circle
of the excavations in Areni village, province of Vayots Dzor. Head
of the research group Boris Gasparyan told Armenpress that the 5th
circle will last till September.

The international press does not stop detailing on the 5500-year-old
leather shoes, found in a cave in Areni. On the other hand, the
archeologists continue the excavations and expect to reveal new
sensational findings.

be placed, dedicated to adoption of Christianity by Armenian people.

The initiative of the monument belongs to “Nig-Aparan” patriotic
union. Deputy Chairman of the union Tigran Petrosyants noted that a
contest has been announced and the cross-stone will be put up on the
basis of the winner’s project.

June 28 in Stepanakert, newly constructed one-room apartments have
been extended to 6 young people left without parental care.

Social Insurance Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Narine
Astsatryan told Armenpress that every apartment has been furnished
by the state budget in the limits of 2 million Drams. According to N.

Astsatryan, the program is of continuous nature, and other 6 young
people belonging to the same class are calculated by the ministry. The
NKR Minister assured that in near future they will receive newly
constructed, furnished apartments, too.

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: On the occasion of the day of the unknown
missed freedom fighters the high-ranking officer staff of the RA armed
forces visited today “Yerablur” pantheon, headed by Armenian Defense
Minister Seyran Ohanyan. The representatives of the Armenian Defense
Ministry put flowers on the monument dedicated to the memory of unknown
missed freedom fighters, on the tombs of Vazgen Sargsyan, military
leader Andranik Ozanyan and at the memorial complex perpetuating the
memory of the freedom fighters killed in the Karabakh battle.

S. Ohanyan told journalists that every year this day relevant events
are organized in honor of the memory of missed freedom fighters.

Particularly, a morning performance will be held today in Yerevan. A
pilgrimage to Nagorno Karabakh will be organized June 25-27 for the
relatives of the unknown missed freedom fighters.

“Each of us must carry out relevant works within the frameworks of
our opportunities, as well as with the support of the International
Red Cross office and the OSCE, in order as a result of searches some
fates of our fighting friends who have fought for today’s peace of
our homeland are revealed,” the Armenian Defense Minster said.

assembly on orthodoxy visited today Tsitsernakaberd to pay tribute
to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, accompanied
with representative of the Armenian delegation in the assembly on
orthodoxy Mkrtich Minasyan. The high-ranking guests walked around
in the Armenian-Genocide Museum-Institute, got acquainted with the
history of the crime of 1915.

Chairman of the inter-parliamentary assembly on orthodoxy Sergey
Popov told today journalists that a big crime was committed in 1915,
which was internationally recognized. “Annihilation of a nation was
implemented purposefully and in a wicked way. All of us respect
Armenian people and express our deep condolence for the innocent
victims. It is of great importance to us to do so that a similar
crime is not committed any more, and that the Armenian nation does not
face suchlike challenges. We must proudly note that Armenian people
have managed to preserve the national identity, to form a free and
independent state,” S. Popov said.

The latter also planted a fir-tree in the park dedicated to the memory
of the Armenian Genocide.

19 Murder Cases Registered In The Republic From January 1

the Republic of Armenia from January 29, 2010 to June 28. 16 cases
are revealed. An official from the press and PR office of RA Police
told Armenpress that 57 cases of corruption were registered in the
same period; 56 of them are revealed. 4 cases of violation, in the
result of which death was registered, were revealed from 7 such
cases. 1308 violation cases were revealed from 1427 ones. 25 rape
cases were registered; 24 of them are revealed. In the same period 14
cases of stealing were registered in the Republic; all the 14 cases
are revealed.

USA as well as will promote their being close to the Silicone Valley

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: ‘We do not have any displeasure about
the skills and professionalism of the Armenian IT specialists,’
Craig Barrett, former chief executive of the ‘Intel’ corporation,
said at today’s meeting with journalists. Mr. Craig Barrett was
awarded June 28 the prize of RA President for the investment in the
international sphere of Information Technology. According to Craig
Barrett, in case strong cooperation is established between the higher
educational establishments and the private sector, the IT sphere of
Armenia will be more developed.

Craig Barrett also informed that during the meetings with the
authorities of the Republic they discussed a number of issues
on organizing trainings and computer courses for the teachers of
elementary classes. Mr. Craig Barrett expressed hope that concrete
steps will be undertaken in this direction. He underscored the
importance of the fact that during the meetings the President, Prime
Minister and Minister of Economy of Armenia ‘spoke the same language’
and stated that IT development is a priority for the development of
the Armenian economy.
