Driver Forces His Taste

Driver Forces His Taste

Citizens of Yerevan are very often forced to listen to “rabiz” music
in public buses.

Some find it normal, while other passengers simply get frustrated,
especially when they are forced to listen to that music from early
in the morning to late at night on their way home tired after work.

“When we tell the driver we don’t want to listen to that music,
he tells us to get off the bus,” citizen Armine Petrosyan complained.

Tigran Sargsyan added that very often, the music is so loud that the
drivers don’t hear passengers asking them to stop at the bus stops.

Is there a law on this? Head of “Yerevan-Trans” CJSC Arman Mirijanyan
told “A1+” that there is no law, but the issue in the center of their
attention every day. In this case, he hopes drivers will not turn on
music while driving.

Demand Dropping Of Mandates

DEMAND DROPPING OF MANDATES

12:23 pm | June 29, 2010 | Politics

“People’s Power” public-political initiative has issued a statement:

“Recently, Armenia and Artsakh have appeared in isolation from the
world and have been neglected by the international community. Proof of
this are the international community’s, including the OSCE Minsk Group
Co-Chairing countries’ inadequate responses to the infinite number
of violations of the ceasefire regime on the part of Azerbaijan,
which didn’t stop even after the fruitless and shameful “voyages”
of the illegitimate abroad.

The Republic of Armenia continues to be an “undesired” country which
is the result of the transition from a dictatorship to betraying
domestic politics from the first years of independence.

The victory of democracy and the establishment of the people’s power
are the only and correct ways for making the Republic of Armenia
become a distinguished member of the international community that
enjoys equal rights, fairly settling the Karabakh conflict and shaping
the well-being and happy present and future for Armenia and Artsakh.

Only the authorities elected through free, fair and transparent
elections are committed to serving the nation. A political line of
conduct running contrary to that has nothing to do with democracy
because in that case, the enslaved people serve those who stole power
and those who are oppressing and robbing our Homeland, as well as
bargaining our children’s dignity and future.

Based on the above mentioned, we demand that

-the political prisoners most of which are participants and heroes
of the Artsakh war be unreservedly and immediately released, -all
citizens who place public and national interests as priorities stand
up and fight for the unreserved restoration of Constitutional Order
in the Republic of Armenia, -the person who seized the office of
president and stole power from the people through the 10 murders
of March 1-2 immediately resign, -the factions that call themselves
the parliamentary opposition (by notice of the PACE and without it)
drop their mandates and undertake the urgent initiative to form
legitimate authorities, which is the ultimate democratic value,”
as stated in the statement.

Nkr: The Most Sorrowful In Those Instigations Are Human Losses

THE MOST SORROWFUL IN THOSE INSTIGATIONS ARE HUMAN LOSSES

Azat Artsakh Daily
23 June 10
Republic of Nagorno Karabakh [NKR]

It seemed, that the current week has not prepared any substantial
surprise. Within a week on the eve of international economic forum
taken place in St. Petersburg a tripartite meeting of Armenia, Russia
and Azerbaijan has been foreseen. Politicians and analysts have not
expected surprises from this meeting. Dominating opinion was that
it would be simply next meeting. In the end of the week, though,
some opinions, nevertheless, were corrected. Let’s begin from that
the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan left for St. Petersburg on
the purpose of participating in international economic forum: the
tripartite meeting has been foreseen essentially just for using the
opportunity. On June 17th, also ministers of foreign affairs joined
later to the meeting started by participation of the 3 presidents.

Apropos of the meeting the sides later gave rather common estimations.

According to the minister of RA Foreign Affairs, it has been
established what it has been acquired till today in negotiating
process, later on with perspective of going on the negotiations on
those bases. Just after getting rid of azeri formulations we see
almost the same estimations in the statement of the representative of
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. “We regard, that any meeting
at a level of leaders of states, especially by participation of the
head of RF is important in the work of finding ways of solution of
NK conflict”.- it is particularly said in the statement of official
representative of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elhan
Polukhov. Press secretary of Russian president Natalia Timakova has
announced, that ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan during the meeting
asserted their readiness to continue the dialogue in the direction of
Karabakh problem regulation, agreement of Madrid’s principles. “Round
a number of disputable theses of the main principles of regulation
about approach of the sides’ position was underlined at the meeting”,
– it was said in the statement of the press secretary of Russia.

So, they met 6 times, in the presence of journalists they spoke only
about the weather: after the meeting they assured of their readiness
of going on the process of peaceful settlement within the circles of
Minsk group. It was what analysts had foreseen the days before.

Co-chairs of OSCE Minsk group were also in St. Petersburg – personal
representative of OSCE chairman-in-office. On the eve of international
economic forum they had separate meetings with the presidents of
Armenia and Azerbaijan: according to notifications they discussed
questions concerning present stage of Karabakh conflict settlement.

It seemed everything is going in its usual way. But in spite of the
sides’ diplomatic estimations many of the experts had an opinion,
that the meetings in Petersburg spoiled Aliev’s mood. Without
serious reasons, the president of Azerbaijan, not participating
in international economic forum, left Petersburg. But everything
has not ended by it. Reasons of urgent departure of the president
of Azerbaijan became clear later: according to the reports of RA
and NKR Ministries of Defense. On June 18th, at 23:30 detachments
of special significance of armed forces of Azerbaijan crossing the
north-eastern part of the contact line attacked one of the positions
of Defense Army. For the purpose of rendering harmless of diversion
group of the opponent consisted of about two tens soldiers, in the
result of the operative actions undertaken by subdivisions of the
mentioned direction of NKR Armed forces, azeri detachments suffering
losses took to flight. According to the notification of the department
of information and preaching of NKR Defense Army, during defensive
actions Karabakh side had also losses. It is characteristic, that the
next serious incident unleashed by azeri armed forces in the contact
line took place in a day from the tripartite meeting carried out by
the initiative of RF President Dmitry Medvedev, where the president
of Azerbaijan had expressed readiness to continue the peaceful way of
the conflict settlement. The most sorrowful in those instigations are
human losses, from St. Petersburg RA President began his speech with
condoling word directed to the relatives of the victims. The minister
of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has also responded to the instigator
actions of Azerbaijan. “Before each meeting of high level, Baku has
tried by dint of instigator statements, threat of war to ruin the
negotiations, – Edward Nalbandyan has announced,- treacherous attack
under the cover of night is typical to Azerbaijan. It has been done
not for the first time. It is obvious, that it is planned action. It
once again shows the real face of Baku, who does everything for failing
the negotiating process, – minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has
underlined. Anyhow, Armenia has no problem for reviewing its position,
all the more – yielding to azeri instigations, – RA President Serzh
Sargsyan has assured. The ways certainly become clear, the purpose is
one: achieving of NKR recognition is the problem in the agenda. In the
end this step of Azerbaijan has been directed not only to Armenia,
but also to Russia, by whose initiative the tripartite meeting has
been organized. What did Azerbaijan want to prove by this step, or
what estimations the international community will give, or how Russia
will accept this bearing of the same Azerbaijan, the time will show.

Irrespective of everything – Armenian soldier fell victim on border,
and this is irreplaceable loss for us. And till the international
community will weigh against, we should infer conclusions for us.

Edward Sharmazanov: ‘The Milestone Of The Regulation Of The NK Issue

EDWARD SHARMAZANOV: ‘THE MILESTONE OF THE REGULATION OF THE NK ISSUE IS THE STATUS OF ARTSAKH’

ARMENPRESS
JUNE 29, 2010
YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: ‘Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region’
does not exist any more; the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic exists. The
Armenian authorities have already made clear the three points, over
which Armenia and Artsakh do not intend to make any compromises. Those
points are the security guarantees, the status of Artsakh and common
land border between Armenia and Artsakh. Secretary and Spokesperson
of RA NA Armenian Republican Party Edward Sharmazanov said at today’s
meeting with journalists that the people of Artsakh are to make the
final decision on making compromises.

‘For us the milestone of the regulation is the issue of the status
of NK. We should achieve the point, when NK gets even a higher
status. In the final stage we will achieve the recognition of the
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Our goal is the recognition of the NKR,’
Mr. Sharmazanov said.

According to him, it is rumored that that the process of regulation
has entered the final stage, however it is not true. ‘The issue has
entered a new stage, which has some positive features. The issue will
enter the final stage, when the NK becomes a negotiating side. No
one can define the fortune of the NK nation without the consent of
Artsakh’s people. The sides of the conflict are Azerbaijan and Artsakh,
but not Armenia and Azerbaijan,’ Edward Sharmazanov stated.

As to the Erdogan-Obama meeting, Edward Sharmazanov underscored
that Turkey does not have the right to interfere in the process of
regulation of the NK issue. He says Turkey should realize that Armenia
will not conduct any discussions on the theme of the Genocide.

‘We have always been stating and will go on stating that Armenia
endeavors to achieve the recognition of the Genocide. One should
not pay any attention to the propaganda of Azerbaijan and Turkey,’
he mentioned. Edward Sharmazanov noted that Turkey has to prove to
the world that it is not the heir of the feudalistic Ottoman Empire,
but a part of the democratic civilization.
