YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS: Animators Zdislaw Kudla and Anjey
Orzechowsky, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the 6th
International Junior Film Festival, visited today the Tsitsernakaberd
(Swallow’s Fortress) memorial, built in honor of the memory of the
victims of the Armenian Genocide, committed 1915 by Ottoman Turkey
shares the pain of Armenia, as the Polish nation has experienced an
atrocity of genocide.

‘I really do not understand how one can avoid responsibility for
killing a nation,’ he said. He added that even cartoons can teach
children to honor people and help exclude killings. Anjey Orzechowsky
said he thinks states must not have any frontiers, so that nations
could move freely and make friendship. The animation directors said
they admire the beauty of Yerevan; though ‘there is another beauty,
which is more attractive – the astounding charm of Armenian girls’.

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS: The ‘Rock against Smoking’ action,
organized by the Armenian Republican Party’s youth wing and the
Armenian Youth Foundation in association with Yerevan Municipality, was
held today at Charles Aznavour Square. During the rock concert-action
a pack of cigarettes was swapped for an apple.

‘Our society has a number of dangerous habits; smoking is one of them.

Through this action we propagandize healthy lifestyle,’ according
to Karen Avagyan, RA NA deputy, chairman of the Armenian Republican
Party’s youth organization. He said every day over 18,600 people die
because of smoking, so ‘they tend to inform the society about the harm,
cigarettes may cause’.

Arusyak Poghosyan, head of Healthy Lifestyle Projects of the Armenian
Youth Foundation, said they use rock music as a tool for propagandizing
principles of healthy lifestyle. She added that ‘if the youth is
informed, it can spread values of healthy lifestyle in the society’.

BAKU; "Armenians’ Settlement In Azerbaijan’S Occupied Territories Pu

“ARMENIANS’ SETTLEMENT IN AZERBAIJAN’S OCCUPIED TERRITORIES PURSUES POLITICAL GOALS”

Today

Azerbaijan

Armenians’ attempts to carry out settlement activities in the occupied
territories of Azerbaijan pursue political goals, New Azerbaijan
Party (NAP) Deputy Executive Secretary, MP Mubariz Gurbanli said in
an interview with the party’s official website.

“In fact, Armenia has a small population to carry out settlement policy
even within the country. So, we can say that Armenia’s attempts to
build houses in these areas [occupied territory of Azerbaijan] pursue
purely political motives. By this way the Armenian authorities try to
demonstrate to the world the density of population in these areas,”
Gurbanli said.

Gurbanli said Armenia commits trespasses in the occupied Azerbaijani
territories. It destroys historical monuments, pollutes the ecosystem
and tries to achieve illegal settlement of people.

Azerbaijan will have enough to say to state its position when the
assessment mission submits the revealed facts during the discussions
within the OSCE, Gurbanli added.

“Armenians’ settlement policy demonstrated that they oppose settlement
of the conflict and are against the peace talks. The Azerbaijani side
will present the facts, and once again state that these activities
counteract the international law,” he said.

Safar Abuyev Keeps On Juggling With Facts

SAFAR ABUYEV KEEPS ON JUGGLING WITH FACTS

ArmInfo

ArmInfo. The key reason hindering security in the region is some
countries’ non- recognition of the Armenian aggression, Azerbaijani
Defense Minister Safar Abiyev said during a meeting with his Iranian
counterpart Ahmad Vahidi, who is in Azerbaijan on an official visit.

Moreover, Abiyev directly hinted at Russia and blamed the same “some”
countries for economic and military assistance to the “occupant
country”, having said that these countries are at the same time
maintaining the friendly relations with Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Abiyev
was not ashamed to state that “Azerbaijan advocates peace and calmness
in the region, the main obstacle for which is Armenia’s aggression
against Azerbaijan”.

Thus, Abiyev, who is obviously still a defense minister thanks to
exclusively his loyalty to the dynastic regime of the Aliyevs, has once
again confirmed his reputation of a bad “strategist”, who has vividly
demonstrated his “abilities” over the last years of Karabakh war.

It is also obvious that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict started as
consequence of Azerbaijani, not Armenian aggression, as the Azerbaijani
official’s sick imagination considers. The Azerbaijani aggression was
followed by the massacres of peaceful residents in Baku, Kirovabad and
other Armenian-populated regions of Azerbaijan. Even such a skilled
player as the invulnerable Azerbaijani defense minister considers
himself cannot conceal these facts from the international community.

“We are against any occupation. The countries, which are outside the
region, are not interested in resolving the conflict,” Vahidi said.

“The OSCE Minsk Group has not achieved positive results in resolving
the conflict over 18 years of activity,” minister said.

ADMINISTRATIVE COURT REFUSES TO CONSIDER THE CLAIM AGAINST YEREVAN MUNICIPALITY

ArmInfo. The Administrative Court has rejected the collective claim
against Yerevan Municipality. The claim was signed by 116 people and
disputed the lawfulness of construction of the cafe in the Students’
Garden.

“We are the owners of our city” group told ArmInfo the rejection was
conditioned by the fact that actually the claimants’ rights were not
violated. To recall, over the construction of the cafe, 20 trees
were cut, and the grassplot adjoining the monument to Academician
Hambardzumyan was destroyed.

In May an open letter signed by 20 thsd people was sent to Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan. The letter contained an appeal to suspend
the construction in the Students’ Garden, restore the initial sight
of the territory and return it to the Yerevan residents’ use.

In addition, in late summer Transparency International applied to the
court against the Municipality of Yerevan. The claim was filed on the
ground that the Municipality failed to present the documents concerning
the construction of the cafe within the time stipulated by the law.
