Fillon : Une Guerre Frontale, Une Vraie Guerre Contre L’etat Islamiq

FILLON : UNE GUERRE FRONTALE, UNE VRAIE GUERRE CONTRE L’ETAT ISLAMIQUE

IRAK

BAKU: Baku Hands Over Armenian Captive

BAKU HANDS OVER ARMENIAN CAPTIVE

AzerNews, Azerbaijan
Sept 25 2014

25 September 2014, 17:01 (GMT+05:00)
By Sara Rajabova

Baku handed over the Armenian captive, who was detained in late August,
the State Commission on POWs, Hostages and Missing Persons reported.

Fifty-three-year-old Armenian citizen Sarkis Ananyan was detained
for violation of the border with Azerbaijan in Kemerli village of
the Gazakh region on August 26, 2014.

Ananyan was returned to the Armenian side on the Azerbaijani-Armenian
border in the direction of the Bala Jafarli village of the Gazakh
region on September 25.

The process organized by the State Commission and the Defense Ministry
through the International Committee of the Red Cross passed without
incident.

In late August, Azerbaijan transferred the Armenian serviceman,
Akop Injigulyan, to a third country.

Despite the Azerbaijani side hands over the Armenian citizens, who
crossed the Azerbaijani border, to their country, however, Yerevan
rejects to return Azerbaijani hostages.

Azerbaijan has repeatedly appealed to the IRCR on return of the two
Azerbaijani hostages detained by Armenian armed forces in occupied
Kalbajar region.

Three Azerbaijani civilians (Russian citizen DilgamAsgarov, Azerbaijani
citizens ShahbazGuliyev and HasanHasanov) were detained by Armenian
forces in early July while they were visiting the graves of their
late relatives. ICRC Baku office earlier reported that HasanHasanov
was buried in Nagorno-Karabakh after being killed by Armenian forces.

Iran’s Statement On Gas Supply To Europe Could Just Be Taken Into Ac

IRAN’S STATEMENT ON GAS SUPPLY TO EUROPE COULD JUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT – EXPERT

21:26 * 24.09.14

Political scientist Alexander Markarov considers Iranian President
Hassan Rouhani’s statement that Iran could be a reliable supplier of
energy resources to Europe a statement to be taken into account.

The Iranian president’ statement should be differentiated from reality.

“It is clear international sanctions are in effect against Iran, and
none of them has so far been lifted. It is clear Iran is seeking to
sell its gas and oil. However, there emerges a question of pipelines
and the corridor for gas supply,” he said.

The Iranian leader’s statement shows Iran’s willingness to enter the
European market.

On the other hand, Mr Markarov pointed out a number of problems.

“The first problem is if Europe is willing to accept the proposal. The
second problem is how the gas market Iran is seeking to enter is
going to develop. When the two problems are resolved along with that
of the sanctions, we can speak of putting statements into practice.”

The Survival Of Syria’s Armenian Community

THE SURVIVAL OF SYRIA’S ARMENIAN COMMUNITY

Wednesday, September 24th, 2014

A destroyed neighborhood in Aleppo

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Despite numerous social and economic difficulties
caused by the war, the Armenian community of Syria continues to live
and to work. Armenpress presents an interview with editor-in-chief
of Aleppo’s Gandzasar weekly Zarmik Boghikian about issues concerning
the Armenians of Syria.

ARMENPRESS: What are some issues facing the Armenian community of
Syria? What kind of difficulties have they encountered during this
period?

ZARMIK BOGHIKIAN: As part of the Syrian people, the Armenian community
has suffered the effects of anxiety over these three years. Being a
minority, we endured much more damages – in the form of destruction
of national structures, in the psychological sense, a large number
of people left Syria, we had many losses. Syrian-Armenians tried to
survive with all this. Our main task now is coming out of this war
with the least amount of loss possible, because we do not favor any
political force and have no connection with the war. From the very
beginning the Armenian community of Syria tried to back all the
efforts directing the country to democracy.

A.P.: Is there any official data on the number of victims and material
losses?

Z.B.: There are official numbers: we have had 100 victims killed up
to today and 106 kidnapped and missing people. We have 1,700 damaged
apartments and national structures. The community’s population
has been reduced by 50 percent; a part of them have emigrated to
Armenia – about 12,000 people – the other part to Lebanon; and some
of them have left for the countries of Western Europe. Our wish is
that Syrian-Armenians settle in the homeland, as they can at least
preserve their national identity there.

A.P.: Can we say that the population of Armenians in Syria is 30,000?

Z.B.: With a bit of hesitation – yes, because there are no exact
numbers. In addition to external migration, internal displacement
also took place. The majority emigrated from Aleppo, as it is the
most dangerous place and people live there in difficult conditions.

A.P.: What would you say about the cultural life of the Armenian
community of Syria?

Z.B.: Our community leaders and religious leaders do everything
possible to keep our schools working. The academic year has begun
and we hope that we will go through the year with minimal harm and
will not see any more losses.

Fighters Of IS Blow Up Armenian Church In Deyr-Ez-Zore

FIGHTERS OF IS BLOW UP ARMENIAN CHURCH IN DEYR-EZ-ZORE

Vestnik Kavkaza, Russia
Sept 24 2014

24 September 2014 – 7:55pm

The Armenian church Srbots Naatakats (Saint of Great Martyrs), in
Syrian Deyr-ez-Zore, was blown up by fighters of “Islamic State”.

“We strongly condemn the bombing by terrorists… of the Armenian
church in Deyr-Ez-Zore… Such terrible barbarity concerning a
shrine again shows the cruel essence of the terrorist group called
“Islamic State”. The international community has to stop and eradicate
immediately this plague menacing civilized mankind, to block ways of
financing and assistance to this group,” Armenian foreign minister
Edward Nalbandian is quoted by Armenia Today.

It should be noted that the destroyed church was built in memory of
the tragic events of 1915, the so-called “genocide of Armenians”,
and its explosion was carried out on September 21, on the day of the
celebration of the independence of Armenia.
