The victory of the electoral list leader of the opposition Shant Bloc, incumbent mayor Gevorg Parsyan, is being celebrated at the Kapan city election headquarters of this bloc.
Parsyan’s supporters are chanting “Gevorg, Gevorg,” and celebrating his victory under the tunes of traditional Armenian folk music.
As reported earlier, Gevorg Parsyan posted on Facebook the preliminary results of Sunday’s local election in Kapan, according to which the Shant Bloc has received 1,222 votes, whereas the ruling Civil Contract Party (CCP)—just 532 votes.
The CCP electoral list in Kapan is headed by the majority “Civil Contract” parliamentary faction MP, painter Davit Danielyan.
