Baku is fabricating criminal cases against Armenian prisoners of war and has launched a trial. This is what secretary of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Arman Abovyan said during today’s special session of the National Assembly.
Abovyan added that, in reality, Azerbaijan is currently legitimizing its policy, declaring citizens of Armenia as “terrorists”.
“The Azerbaijanis are somehow trying to justify their failure to return Armenian prisoners of war. There has to be a response to this. If Armenia doesn’t respond, it will mean that the Armenian government agrees with this. The National Assembly, government and the opposition must properly respond to all the actions that Azerbaijan takes. This is the most important issue, and we must not forget that Armenian prisoners are still being kept in Azerbaijan,” Abovyan said.
