March 13 marks the birthday of the famous Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents. His life was full of great accomplishments as well as terrible tragedies. Even today, one can see the impact of the genocide, imprisonment and dictatorship in his works. But it is these works that have made him one of Armenia’s most cherished and compelling poets.
