Russia’s position on the final status of Artsakh and the ongoing negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan remains unchanged. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, announced this during the briefing.

According to him, Russia’s position stems from the fact that the final status of the Republic of Artsakh should be determined through negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“You know our position, it has not changed,” Zakharova said.

He also noted that Moscow will continue to support the peaceful settlement of the Artsakh conflict as one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as taking into account Moscow’s close relations with Baku and Yerevan.

“We remain committed to supporting the peaceful resolution of the conflict,” he said.

He also noted that mutual accusations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are worrying for the Russian side, because such rhetoric cannot be conducive to the negotiation process.
